If I had to guess our ruck set-up, I'd go with Frost and Pedersen (Oscar Mac comes in as the second key defender with Frost playing up the ground, and Pedersen taking Smith's role as key forward, with stints in the ruck).

Is pederson in your super coach ? :)
I just picked him up in my ultimate footy league along with frost so heres to hoping one of them can kill it

I favour playing Tom McDonald as the ruckman and bringing in Oscar McDonald to replace Spencer. I know that Tom McDonald is the linchpin of our defence, but he didn’t have the reach last year against Daniher, so perhaps his brother or Frost is actually better matchup for him.

Bugg probably deserves a call up given his performance at Casey, although the opposition was poor, and I am not sure he is well suited to Docklands. He would be my first emergency, particularly if Petracca does not come up.

JHK was our weakest player on the weekend IMO but is better suited to Etihad than others. I also think only giving him one game to prove himself is a bit rough.

Tyson is slow and out of form and this worries me at Docklands. I am particularly worried about a lack of pace if both Lewis and Tyson are in the same team. We might not have much choice, however, if Viney and/or Jones are injured.

I would be keen for Vince to go into the midfield and Lewis to go down back. I think Vince going into the midfield helps reduce our current overuse of handball. And Lewis and Tyson cannot be played in the same midfield IMO due to lack of pace/spread, particularly if Oliver, Viney and Jones are also in there.

Kent needs to get a kick in the VFL to earn his spot back.

So at the moment I would go with Oscar McDonald in for Spencer, Lewis in for Smith and Pedersen in for Hogan. This all obviously assumes that Petracca, Viney and Jones are all right to play.

Melksham, Frost, Hunt

Stretch, Oliver, Salem

Neal-Bullen, Pedersen, Kennedy-Harris

Garlett, Watts, Petracca

T McDonald, Jones, Viney

Tyson, Lewis, Vince, Harmes

Given Jesse's absence I think Pedobear is going to have to be our key forward and Weid will have to play too. I'd love to see us start with TMAC in the tuck with OMAC playing CHB.

Ins: Weid, Pedo, OMAC, Lewis
Out: Spencer, Smith, Jesse, Tyson

Jetta OMAC Melksham
Hunt Frost Hibberd
Lewis Jones Stretch
Trac Pedo Watts
Jeffy Weid JKH

TMAC Oliver Salem

Viney, Harmes, Vince, ANB

Problem is we have question marks over Trac, Viney, Jones and Salem...

Pedo has a tendency of imitating a witches hat at Etihad :-( The forward line I named wouldn't rate elite in defensive pressure. Weid, Watts and Pedo would all be below average...

I agree that one game isn't really fair but, to be fair Kent only got one shot and yet he is expected to go back to VFL to earn his spot

Harsh!! Why? I thought he was always pretty balanced with his posting.
Caused no end of friction across BF generally, but I guess he did no particular harm on this board really.

I seem to suddenly recall (albeit with alarm) our swinging Tommy forward in the second half against bombers in 2015. Okay so it didn't work. At all, really. But it was a lighter moment in a grim day and I don't see why a bad idea shouldn't be repeated a few times. We've done that before.

Tommy for CHF and ruck. Hell, why not?

Could this possibly be the shortest forward line ever named?

FF: Hannan 189cm
HFF: Petracca 186cm
HFF: ANB 182cm
FP: JKH 173cm

For Comparison, here is the Giants forward lineup this week.

CHF: Lobb 207cm

HFF: Kennedy 188cm
FP: Cameron 196cm

Going off that interchange I've got a feeling they'll go with what you said and drop Tyson for Bugg. You have to reward a performance like he had for Casey last week.
