Goodwin said both hannan and weid 'needed a rest' after they wernt selected against richmond. Said the same thing about stretch last night. I agree they should have been more clear on the team sheet

Communications is my field. Frustrates me to see the club slipping now that Roos has gone. He's pretty much the best communicator around when it comes to football.

How the hell does Stretch not get a game? Seems a pretty good sort to my eye
Suspect he's being managed due to the 5 day break. Comfortably best 22.

Play Watts forward for all his TOG and hope that on form he kicks a bag/sets up plenty. That's our best chance of winning IMO, even if Frost/Pedersen give away a bit in the ruck

Watts going forward is fine, but the chances of him kicking a bag are fairly slim. Goes well when floating around the forward line as a 3rd tall or winger, but I think Hurley is a good match for him (if he gets him?) and will be able to keep him fairly well under wraps. If not, Brown will probably do a passable job so Hurley can float around and mop up our obligatory mass of shit kicks to no one.

Hurley's form is a bit ordinary at present. That said, we a literally the ideal team to restore his confidence and set him up for the year.

Doesn't need to be great. Don't think Watts has ever done particularly well when playing as a key tall, let alone possibly the only key forward which he may be today. We're probably going to see a lot of Jeff on his Paddy Malone in the 50 today.

We have actually featured Jeffy Garlett alone in the forward 50 a fair bit this year. I can't fathom why it's not working out.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but his ANZAC Match was easily his best all year; looks to have his confidence back and just looked like the Hurley of old.
Also, Ambrose out for us is a win for you guys; he's been close to our best defender over the past 14 months, but he just doesn't have a match up today. Haven't seen Matty Dea play since Round 23 last year so hopefully he's still got the chops.

Good luck today guys and girls! Hoping for a great game with no injuries!
