Prediction Changes v Essendon

I just realised we should have beaten Geelong and we hammered the Hawks....without our talisman and best player!

Not bad.

Kern said Chad texted him on Wednesday saying he's ready to play. Barring any aggravation at training, he'll play.
After the game he also said if the game was on Saturday or Sunday Chad would've played.

Chad, Amon In

Jimmy, Young out.

I'd like Eddy in but seeing as the game is at the dome I think Amon's skills will be handy.

I pose this question! Do we currently in the Power side have a forward who can be relied upon to kick accurately for goal any where on the 50 metre arc?
Perhaps Dixon on a good day. And perhaps Hammer and Broadbent - but they are not forwards and only do the occasional cameo.
But do we have anyone in the 2's who can be relied upon to do that obvious skill for any big key forward? Yes, there is someone - Brett Eddy.
Say, Chad is ok for the 10th June then Youngy would be omitted to make way for him. But who be dropped for Eddy? Perhaps under the term of "being managed", Robbie can be given some time off.
It would be an unique opportunity to see if a key forward combo of Dixon, Eddy and Wingard would work.

No more Young pls. I'd like to say no more Hoff but we all know that ain't happening.

Don't mind the idea of Toumpas getting another week.

Most players who come in deserve at least a couple of games to find their feet. Toumpas however is a clear straight in/straight out proposition. Whatever "it" is, Toumpas doesn't have "it" and I doubt he ever will.

Awareness, mostly.

Yeah I'm not going to argue too much for him in the side. Thought he worked bloody hard all match and got himself into some good positions and applied some good pressure. For that he probably deserves another game - but I also agree it still doesn't look like he's showing any signs of his underage potential.

I watched the whole game, you only watched the first half.
Hamish finished the game with 24 touches at 96%. He had 9 intercept possessions (more than any player on the ground) and 4 of his 8 marks were intercept marks (more than any player on the ground). Add to that 341 metres gained (third behind Ebert and Pittard for Port) as well as a goal assist and two score involvements, and that's a very, very good day out in defence.

Give it a rest.

in - Wingard, Monfries

Out - Young, Toumpas

Did anyone see Westhoff having shots for goal 60 minutes before the match at the Southern End? It was downright embarrassing watching him practice kicking for goal. The kicks were going all over the place.

Then he tried to put himself in the same position as last week in the last qtr against Geelong when he messed up the kick around the corner. Let's just say he has not improved since last week.

God help us if we are relying upon Westhoff to kick a crucial goal in the last quarter of a final.

I wouldn't mind seeing Toumpas have another crack next week, he performed higher than a majority of supporters expected.
Give him another crack!

Can't see him staying in the side though

His goal kicking is his only issue though. He gives us plenty in other areas and there is the quandry.

If the expected changes happen we'll be fielding close to our strongest side.

Our forward 50 entries in the second half let us down last night. If any two players can help with that, Wingard and Amon can.

Methinks that only one of Young / Ah Chee / Monfries should be in the side. My money on Arch at the moment.

In: Wingard, Amon (if fit)
Out: Toumpaloompas
I'd add Amon to that list.

Sorry if this a stupid question but..

Hypothetically speaking, how would a forward line with Dixon, Marshall and (Dougal, Eddy or Trengrove) operate in your opinion?

With players like Wingard, Monfries, R. Gray or Impey there too.

Oh and
OUT: R.Gray - managed
IN: C. Wingard
If Gray is truly injured then yes I agree resting Robbie now, with the Lions next up would give him a full 22 days rest.

If Gray isn't injured then he starts in the goddamn center square and we try to get him back into form. None of this leaving him in the F50 crap. It is not working, he needs a balance of mid and fwd to work into the game and then go forward and hit the scoreboard.

For some reason we have a ridiculous obsession with avoiding rotations, Boak just staying as HFF, Gray just staying forward 90% of the game, Wingard playing 90% mid the last few games, etc. We need a better balance!

Wingard and R Gray should both be 50% mid, 50% fwd. No more, no less!

Out: Toumpas, Young, Sam Gray, Ah Chee (unlucky)

In: Monfries (Defensive role on Zac Merrett), Eddy (take some pressure off Dixon as Hurley is a way better player than Gibson), Amon (outside pace and skill), Wingard cause he's awesome.

A lot of people are saying young out but I think he had a good game only change needed is. Wingard in
Toumpas out

You have to be joking?

You are joking aren't you? Four changes to a side that held Hawthorn to a record low first half score. Baring injury Toumpas will go to make way for Wingard and that is it.

I'd leave S.Gray in for Amon.
