Prediction Changes v Essendon

I get it but I disagree with you and think your arguments are flawed as to who we can play where.

It is not between Toumpas and Drew at all. Especially if you have seen past selections where we swap smalls and talls in and out of the team and shuffle players around.

I think many players (or combination of players throughout a match) can play wing better than Toumpas. Impey Boak Wingard Pittard Johnson.. even Bonner, would all offer more than Toumpas. Playing any of those there would not affect our core midfield or forward line set-ups.

The coaches won't just rip players out of their expected/current positions to fit into your belief that Toumpas shouldn't ever pull on a Power guernsey again.

Lets hamstring the forward line by taking out Impey and Boak, lets hamstring the defence by taking Pittard out of it, let's put Johnson at risk of doing a hamstring by chucking him on a wing.

Toumpas is doing fine, and he will be displaced the moment a) someone is banging down the door in the SANFL, b) he loses form and is omitted, c) gets injured.

So we should have also dropped Ebert, Wines, S.Gray, Ah Chee, Byrne-Jones and Impey as well as Young because they all used the ball worse than Toumpas, right?
But they didn't? They were at least damaging and had accountable opposition on them. Toumpus will be a deer in headlights at Etihad on Saturday night.

Johnson? Wing? You've made it known you don't like Jimmy, now give it a rest.

I know PAFC66 is a bit of a campaigner sometimes, but he's right on this occasion. A Toumpas turnover on half back actually did lead to Breust marking and kicking that point. There was a soft free paid in between as well, if you feel like blaming the umpires instead.

I think the intent was correct. If it was say a Dixon or Westhoff in that position rather than Sam Gray trying to play as a tall forward, then it'd be the correct option.

The only thing is perhaps is that he had more time to make an assessment with his kick but at AFL pressure where you have to make a split decision, I think the intent was correct it just didn't fall our way. His kick I felt was actually to the favour of the forward, it just happens Sam Gray is small

Jesus, has toumpas murdered people's pet dogs?

He's played 1 game this year after finding out he's playing 15 minutes prior.

He got 26 touches and didn't soil himself.

This bloke has been shit on after a game he didn't embarrass himself in.

He's gone 10-26 W/L in his career 5 of those wins have come from playing with us, give him a break and let him find his ****ing feet before crucifying him.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I think toumpas is an ok depth player and should most definitely get a gig should we ever have a number of injuries on our list. We currently have just, one although arguably Krak is coming back from injury and not had time to build form.

The if we dropped toumpas for Houston and put pittard on the wing, you really think the defense would be hamstrung? It would be a net gain for the team.

If we dropped toumpas for Monfries and played Boak on the wing and Monfries up front, you really think the forward line would be hamstrung? Please. According to your arguments, Boak has played almost exclusively in he middle his whole career, and Monfries likewise in the forward line, so that would definitely be a net gain for the team.

We are risking Johnson's health by putting him on the wing?! Ahahahah. Ok. Cool story.

nonse. If the coaches thought like you and not like me that's exactly what would have happened, but they don't think like you because they know what the importanceof structure, shape and consolidation looks like. And it's not chucking a random player on a wing that isn't Toumpas.

Ahahha have you seen past selection nights? Have you followed Port since Hinkley has been in charge, chopping and changing talls and smalls and the boards going mental about Hinkley not knowing about the importance of structure? The coaches don't think like me this week, but it is certainly not because of what you say.

Anyway I hope Dimitri plays well and proves you right. Good luck to him and you.

lol the Jimmy hate on this board is hilariously out of order ...

Jimmy gets 26 touches at 65% and it's like if we don't drop him the arctic sea ice will melt and we'll all die

Mean while Westhoff cruises through another cruisy miss on goal oh well he lives a cruisy life cruisen around missing set shots a senior player should nail for fun and Jimmy is the problem

Hurrr durrr guys seriously

The correct option was Paddy Ryder in the centre. 30m away with a mile of space around him. Instead had to do a big loopy kick to make it go ~50m and it was guaranteed to be spoiled.

Not a massive Toump fan myself but you're spot on. To be fair though, Westhoff gets panned a bit here too, albeit with a little less vitriol than some cop.

Nah. Any player that doesn't get 30 & 3 should be hung drawn and quartered. Furthermore, clangers should be punishable by waterboarding.

It's only fair we hold our players to the same level of excellence and flawlessness we all adhered to when we played AFL.

I didn't like Dimitri at Melbourne. I called him Fiora 2.0.

I wiped the slate clean when he came home, hoping he'd come close to reaching his pre-injury potential a la his WWT-mate Polec.

I've wanted him to make it.

But his game against Hawthorn was wholly unimpressive. 3 contested possessions and 23 uncontested possessions. The softest of outside roles and yet he registered 65% disposal efficiency with 4 non-FA clangers. 1 tackle. 1 one-percenter. 1 inside 50. 0 rebound 50.

Of his kicks that did hit the target, many of them lacked penetration and gained minimal meterage.

In that most superfluous of roles, we have any number of superior candidates. Four of which are already on the field. Pittard, Hartlett, Broadbent, DBJ. At the Magpies, one could argue for the stronger AFL form of Houston. Or the vastly superior kick in Krakouer. Or the younger upside Bonner.

From a raw form POV, Palmer and Monfries have been smashing the door down harder for longer, in roles we arguably have a more pressing need for at the Power.

All in all, it's just confusing that he would be given another go in what is a nothing role.

That said, my heart hopes he's BOG against Essendon despite my head saying he'll do nothing to hold his spot beyond this week.

Let's breathe a little on Angus.

He's over 30
Been suspended for over a year
As a role model has a part in a young player being involved in a car incident from a party he conducted.

So his leadership is in question, time out of the game in question plus his age over 30.

It's awesome his resilience to keep backing up performances in the 2nds which a player of his ilk should do. However I'd much prefer Arch, Palmer Atley Johnson get games whilst we are humming over Gus.

Let their form drop off and then bring in Angus before finals. Until then let him know how to hold em, when to fold em and when to go all in!
