Why not play someone who realistically has a future, though?
Carn raman!

The club traded him in so clearly think he has afl traits. I reckon his disposal is great personally, he kicks a hell of a lot as well which is something I love about him.

He will always be maligned for playing outside and behind the ball, but if he becomes a damaging 20-30 disposal player he will definitely have a future.

Some have put a line through him already and good on 'em but he could easily prove people wrong.

I think we worry too much over 1 selection like Toumpas. What keeps going through my head is what if Ryder is down for a few weeks, someone we cannot cover. We have not given games to another ruckman like Frampton for insurance, no Ryder and kiss 2017 goodbye.

Dixon is another player that is crucial for us and we haven't played Howard at senior level this year.
Players like Amon can be covered easily and as long as we bring our tough defensive game we should be ok. Ryder and Dixon are the ones that we cannot afford to lose.

This was the crows downfall last year. kept a stable team most of the season, got injuries towards finals and brought in players who were off the afl pace.

We dont want to do that.

Without being overconfident, the next few games might have been a good opportunity to bring in a few afl inexperienced players such as Palmer, Marshall, Atley, Eddy or Bonner.

Id like to see Robbie G be rested against Brisbane and bring in either Palmer, Eddy or Marshall.

Not sure which toss bag it was, but those comments about Toumpas being Greek etc are just a shit thing to say. Shows the mental capacity of the moron and his Mates. Keep your opinions to his supposed football ability or lack thereof, but leave race, colour and creed out of it.

How do we know if he realistically has a future or not if we don't give him one more chance?

That's pretty much 63% of the posts on the old Butcher thread. See the other 37% of posts there for the answer.

Last year's Western Bulldogs had rolling injuries that they seamlessly replaced to an extent I can't remember. Each week it was like that movie Universal Soldier where they just defrosted a group of zombie soldiers before a mission. It wasn't deliberate rotation but it gave them an incredible team for finals. I just don't think we have that depth. And I think deliberate dropping of players who are performing well would cause all sort of morale issues. But yeah it's interesting.
This year GWS are going through what the Western Bulldogs went through in 2016. God help us if it makes them any stronger.

I'm confident in our depth. Monfries, White and Krakouer are all experienced players who could do a job for us if required. And in terms of talls, Howard and Austin showed last year that they are more than capable should the need arise. Our squad is very nicely balanced I reckon. Only Ryder could be seen as irreplaceable at this stage.

I understand your point of view and agree with most, the problem we have is our midfield is built around a very dominant ruckman and if he is not there for some reason we would have to call on one of Lobbe:eek: Frampton or Ladams and none of these guys have had any AFL game time apart from the struggling Lobbe. I know Jacko can ruck but as in the GWS game earlier this year he ran out of steam in the last quarter.
We just don't seem to have a back up plan, one unfortunate injury to our star ruckman and we will struggle.

Imagine if the Toump comes out and has 30 with a goal @ 80%.
It's an online footy forum. Especially when Sammy Gray was getting going I really noticed how much many of our posters just parrot what the commentators say. All you say could happen but if Richo is talking about what sheen the goalpost paint is at the time then sales of #18 guernseys will remain low.

The main thing for Toumpas is to get faith in his kick again, and keep it low and direct. His highlights at Melbourne show that he has a good leg in him, just needs to back himself to be damaging. Should definitely be spending majority of time forward of centre, as he has the potential to improve our inside 50 delivery if he clicks.

And in any case, I'd much rather Dixon and Hurley under one of his floaters than Tom Clurey and Daniher.

The mods insulate us from a fair bit I'd imagine. I think about from time to time when they let some stuff go on.

I've seen plenty of posts where people have had a fairly solid dip at each other, but I can't recall seeing anything even remotely racist.
Yep, I should always complete my posts and not leave some in my head. So ....

Dixon late out confirmed.
