I love your optimism but the most McInnes has kicked for EP this year is 2 goals. And now before people say he has been mainly in the ruck. his WAFL career stats are just under a goal a game - 107 games and only 104 goals.
Be careful what you say, I remember I talked shit about mcginnity once and he came in and booted 5 goals against Essendon that week.

Well that's bullshit :thumbsdownemoji:

Replace our magnificent shiny first round draft pick who is too good for the WAFL with a 7 year rookie listed C grader in Mcinnes?

No worries. Big step backward in a year where we've backed our youth in and they've rewarded us. Hooker is going to take a shit on Fraser.
Having been at the ground last week and in pretty close proximity to the fence i got a very close look at Brander. The kid has talent but unfortunately, physically, he's just not ready yet. This is intensified even more so with JK now being out. If we went into this game with Waterman and Brander as our FF and CHF, Hooker and Hurley would grind their bones to make their bread. McInnes may be of average ability but he will at least provide a physical presence against some very experienced and quality defenders. Or provide a chop out in the ruck with Nic to allow for Lycett to play more time forward.

Brander is definitely a talent and will be a gun i'm sure, but under the specific conditions in which we find ourselves, i think Frase is the right call... or at least i hope.

Massive lack of respect for someone that bleeds blue and gold, he's given up offers elsewhere to take a rookie list contract to stay at the club he loves and there's a reason WCE have kept him around. You have to remember we've had Lycett, NN, Darling and Kennedy playing first 22 almost every week for the past 7 years. Hardly any of our other KPF's have had a look in either, plus Fraser had a couple long term injuries himself over that time.

He'll compete and die trying and sacrifice as much as he can to get us up, that might mean dragging the best KPD away from the contest where NN and Lycett are.

I hope he bags a few tackles and a few goals to stick it up you.

Absolutely. After next preseason he will hopefully come on like Waterman and Rioli did. The rest of the year ripping it up in the WAFL and smashing the door down for selection next year is not so bad.

What does Edwards need to do to get another game.

Yep these changes are the right ones imo.

Champs what does McInnes bring to the team ?
Can hold an overhead marks , drops chest marks way to often and doesn't kick goals .... I fail to see what he brings to the team to help in the loss of Kennedy and the dropping of Brander.

Schofield worries me in that he is playing after a very short break..... so its fingers crossed on him running the game out.

For once I am happy for Hutchings to get recalled...... otherwise I am pretty meh about the inclusions.

The right changes given the circumstances. Look we still have a full strength midfield and solid backline yet people are losing it over two forced changes where depth and experience is required, not an experiment in youth.

Essendon travelling to Perth v Playing Sydney at SCG where the ground doesn’t really suit leading Fwds or the stacked Sydney defences are too different kettles of fish ..

Brander stiff but there's no way Brander is gonna compete well against Hurley or Hooker.

Mcinnis will atleast compete well and will bring the ball to ground for the likes of Ryan and Rioli.

Mcinnis is a good chance to run through the ruck and allow NN or Lycett more time up forward.

What this guy says.

All McInnes needs to do is create a 50/50 contest in our forward line and bring our smalls into play. That's more important than how many goals he kicks. Brander doesn't have the size to do that as the #1 target yet. McInnes does. Jks injury hurt Brander unfortunately.

Brander's first few weeks were a lot better then his last few weeks.Mcinnes can offer something that Brander can't and that is he could possibly share with Lycett the second ruck role and both could interchange at full forward.Hopefully next week England gets a debut.

I would love to be proven wrong and IF big Frazer kicks 5 goals (or better), I will set up a separate page on BF for people to hang shit on me.

Not when you're running an incredibly physically under developed and inexperienced 19 year old as your primary target in attack. The ground and the opponent are mostly irrelevant. He's not ready to play as a full time full forward at present. If he was playing alongside Darling or Kennedy, absolutely leave him in, but that isn't the case.
Besides, Essendon's CHB and FB are better than Sydney's, (they're the only thing in their side that are better than anything in Sydney's but it's true)

Fraser has played 12 games and he's clearly a cut below AFL standard. His experience isn't exactly reliable.

I do appreciate what you're saying though, i'd rather they went smaller in the backline and pushed McGovern forward again.

Re-jig the team so there's no need for Mcinnes at all.
McInnes in as a stop gap chf ruck allows NicNat and Lycett to spend more time at full foward. Without letting one of our shiny new assets get all banged up

I like the Frase in. He will straighten up our young, inexperienced forward line nicely and is a solid break-glass-in-case-of-emergency type of roleplayer to have on the list. Knows our structures, has been in good WAFL form and will compete well. Having said all that, i wouldnt have minded Brander getting another game

Backing him in to kick 3.
