I think it was a mistake to bring Brander in on an away game, on a small deck, against a quality heavily congested, contested side. I think McInnes qualities would have been better, or better still i would have left Ah Chee in as his marking ability and hardness at ground level would have been perfect to assist JK.

If they were going to play Brander they should have played him on Buddy and allow Mcgovern to play his natural intercept role. I think our match committee and coaches got that game wrong.

Outs: Brander
Ins: Ah Chee

Shuey and Sheed are on shaky ground, I think it would have been better to leave Ah Chee and Hutchings in and play Shuey at East Perth to get game time but I'll back them in for another game to bounce back.

I doubt Barrass will be ready for next week and with Essendon having no dominant forward I'll back our back 7 in for next week.

lecras Cripps.........two like for likes ....we have Ryan and Rioli ...that’s four small forwards

Is that too many ......yes is my call
I think Cripps is on borrowed time, and as somebody said on the radio this morning "leave Lecca at home when we play away as he's no good once he gets on a plane".

Sheed has to go back and get some form. He had been shit for the last month.

Brander needs to be givens game where he gets supply so he stays. FFS he is the future and you do not give up after one game.

Cripps and Nelson both look lost.

In: Barrass or Schofield, Ah Chee, Petrucelle
Out: Sheed, Nelson, Cripps
Can remember when Sheed was out injured in previous seasons that he takes awhile to get his mojo back. Would have been wiser to have brought him back post injury through the 2s.

Meh was a good fight Ryan rioli waterman brander cole duggan Nelson all will only be better for the experience unchanged if no injuries.. back in the kids. Maybe a small back goes out for sexual if he is fit probably Nelson though I love his aggressive style. Game was a + overall for our season better to have a loss like this with plenty of time to work on deficiencies 10 more games to improve.

My preference would be for Barrass to just come back in at the expense of one of the defenders. Honestly not sure which one, thought Cole, Duggan and Nelson were some of our best. Nelsons unlucky turnover not withstanding.

Thought we lacked targets all night and would be reluctant to drop Waterman or Brander because i get the perception that the restricted space hurt their leading power (like it hurts Franklin).

Barrass in and Jetta out.

Jetta need a stint in the WAFL to be reminded he needs to play better than he is to retain a spot.

Really hope they don’t drop Brander after stupidly bringing him into last night’s game. Was never needed against Sydney and we don’t want to **** with young KPP minds by dropping them after a game like that.[/QUOTE
LeCras, Nelson and Masten out

Barrass, Petrol and Hutchins in
On todays performance has to be Achee ahead of Petrol.Petrol was average today.

Listened on the radio and the commentators sounded pretty impressed with Arch. Did you notice if we managed his minutes at all to keep him fresh for thursday night?

Looks like Kennedy is a major doubt for Essendon. With Darling gone that'll mean 57 goals goes out of our team. Probably be our most inexperienced forward line I can remember.

What’s this then?

Strange post.

Lecras: For all of his first half shitness (and there was plenty going around by him) he corrected his game immensely at half time. 13 touches in the second half, 8 in the last quarter. He used the ball much better, giving off to Hurn when he was available and nailing his kicks when he had to take them, except the set shot miss of course. He was equal third on the ground for pressure acts and score involvements from both teams.

However there were bad points, every single possession in the first half seemed to be a turnover and it was mostly bad decision making, something he usually excels at. He gave away 4 free kicks, that's not disciplined enough, most were in tackle attempts from memory he might have been unlucky once but the rest were there. An overall poor game but it wasn't a career ending game.

Masten: Was probably our 3rd-5th BOG. To put his game into numbers quickly, he had 70% of his touches in the defensive half, he had 9 uncontested marks when he ran hard to provide an option, most his work was done in the first half, the opposite of Lecras. He only gave the one free kick away (the classic Masten free) and he won one back in the same position, possibly saving a shot on goal.

He had 5 tackles and 8 intercept possessions due to good positioning and good work rate. 4 inside 50s and 4 rebound 50s, a very even split showing his movement over the course of a game as well as covering the second most kms on the night (behind Gaff) in a game where we as a team ran 8kms less than Sydney and were outworked.

Nelson: 5 Rebound 50s, 4 inside 50s, 5 1%ers, 2 clearances and a Kick to handball ratio of 13:3

I honestly thought he played ok and took the game on, for all his faults the only difference is everyone remembers them. Duggan got caught HTB, it was as bad as Nelsons kick to Aliir but he's forgiven for his other efforts as Nelson should be, as Masten should be as well. Masten only had 2 clangers for the night, Nelson 3.

In comparison Jetta (5), Ryan (5), Lecras (5), Hurn (5), Kennedy (5), Sheed (4) all had more and made equally baffling choices, although I admit I don't recall Hurn's as I thought he played very well, perhaps they include free kicks against?

Agree with Sheed needing WAFL time first. Some players seem to take a long time to wind up and Dom is a prime example.

Was sitting near the interchange and he didn't seem to be on the bench for any length of time. With a short break I doubt many changes.I would say Hutchings would get a game if mc thinks a change is necessary and Mcinnes depending on Kennedy.
