I understand why people want to keep Brander but I don't think he's ready. Need to put our best squad on the park and unfortunately he's not in it, which isn't a knock on him, I think he'll be a great player for us in a season or two.

I don't see why you'd drop Brander after one game. Let him play at home against the Bombers.

We're too tall up forward - it works fine when playing average teams but in higher intensity matches like tonight we have a greater need for players that can affect at ground level.

If it wasn't for the bye just gone I'd argue to keep Brander and let Waterman have a rest this week.

Playing three key forwards has worked so far but at some stage we need to acknowledge that our best team includes Ryan, Rioli, Lecras and Venables in there in addition to Kennedy and Darling - and that is excluding Cripps, Petrucelle and Ah Chee.

Horrifically bad and destroyed so many i50s in the first quarter when we were on top.

Seen a few Ainsworth inclusions. He literally played a sheed sort of game against WP last week and even if he plays this week, he wouldn't come in due to the short turnaround.

Need to hold back Ah chee and Hutchings. Schoey maybe plays a half of footy as we need a cover for Emac.

Not many changes purely because of the five day break between WAFL and Essendon. That said, whichever mid travelled to Sydney comes in for Sheed next week. Brander could be unlucky but should get another chance on a field not the size of a two cent coin. Cripps also goes out and no one replace him, because he is a detriment to the team, I don't care about his high tackle count, no replacement is better than him playing.

I’ve been really strong on keeping Petrol in the WAFL to develop but I’d honestly consider him over Cripps, as long as he brings some defensive work rate.

Honestly I'd hope Cripps is beyond a stern warning. He may lead tackles inside 50 but he pretty much offers **** all else. Tackles inside 50 are all well and good, but maybe he only gets so many because he's always second to the ball, or when he is first he ****ing fumbles it.

All this hate for Sheed – but honestly, my question is who can provide us another target I50? Tonight, we just kicked it high to Kennedy all the time. And any decent defence knows that. He was 3-on-1 all the time. How many small-medium forwards do we play, when none of them give us a legit target I50?

Totally agree with this. Cripps is just so damn fumbly for a small forward. Should be clean below his knees at his size. Must admit though that Rioli was well below par tonight too. Ryan I’m prepared to cut more slack to given he is coming off a 9 week lay off. For the rest of the season though I don’t think we can play LeCras, Cripps, Rioli and Ryan in the same team.
