Strange post.

Lecras: For all of his first half shitness (and there was plenty going around by him) he corrected his game immensely at half time. 13 touches in the second half, 8 in the last quarter. He used the ball much better, giving off to Hurn when he was available and nailing his kicks when he had to take them, except the set shot miss of course. He was equal third on the ground for pressure acts and score involvements from both teams.

However there were bad points, every single possession in the first half seemed to be a turnover and it was mostly bad decision making, something he usually excels at. He gave away 4 free kicks, that's not disciplined enough, most were in tackle attempts from memory he might have been unlucky once but the rest were there. An overall poor game but it wasn't a career ending game.

Masten: Was probably our 3rd-5th BOG. To put his game into numbers quickly, he had 70% of his touches in the defensive half, he had 9 uncontested marks when he ran hard to provide an option, most his work was done in the first half, the opposite of Lecras. He only gave the one free kick away (the classic Masten free) and he won one back in the same position, possibly saving a shot on goal.

He had 5 tackles and 8 intercept possessions due to good positioning and good work rate. 4 inside 50s and 4 rebound 50s, a very even split showing his movement over the course of a game as well as covering the second most kms on the night (behind Gaff) in a game where we as a team ran 8kms less than Sydney and were outworked.

Nelson: 5 Rebound 50s, 4 inside 50s, 5 1%ers, 2 clearances and a Kick to handball ratio of 13:3

I honestly thought he played ok and took the game on, for all his faults the only difference is everyone remembers them. Duggan got caught HTB, it was as bad as Nelsons kick to Aliir but he's forgiven for his other efforts as Nelson should be, as Masten should be as well. Masten only had 2 clangers for the night, Nelson 3.

In comparison Jetta (5), Ryan (5), Lecras (5), Hurn (5), Kennedy (5), Sheed (4) all had more and made equally baffling choices, although I admit I don't recall Hurn's as I thought he played very well, perhaps they include free kicks against?
I like all your statistics but.....

Think it’s time Liam Ryan takes LeCras spot and Mark gets a rest or WAFL

Hutchings in as his game effort is inspirational and he can at least neutralise a troublesome opposition player

Barrass for Nelson is an obvious

Petrol (or AhChee if Chaddy22 saw the WAFL game) for Masten. Just think we need some fast enthusiasm that can speed off from contests and not waste his kick. For me Petrol is that man. Big fan. Put him in. Kicks goals too.

Hearing Kennedy likely out. Shiitee
Very disappointing. I felt like he was improving his touch with each game recently, which was going to be big with Darling out. Now ... ??

Still no excuse for not beating Essendon at home though. We'll work something out.
This is where the Barrass injury is a double-whammy too, because it probably deprives us of the option of using Gov up forward.

We have Lycett, Vardy or Fraser. Vardy up forward worked last year.

Oh well Kennedy / Darling out , maybe play Lycett FF and bring back Vardy / McInnes to support NicNat .

Hey guys, sorry to intrude on your board, have been told J,K has a suspected broken leg, played the game out under duress, will be out at least 6 weeks

Crikey.

Hope your info is wrong!

Say it ain't so.

Otherwise, swing McGovern forward and bring in some reinforcements down back?

I wish it was wrong also, Unfortunately it is not , He is a great player Josh, and a top bloke as well. no one likes to see injuries ,no matter which team one supports, but this game is brutal on the body and mind, Good luck for the rest of the season , except against the Pies of course ;)

If Kennedy is sore then rest him. If Barrass comes back in then our midfield and backs should be able to contain Essendon.

Massive blow though. I suppose you have to bring in Vardy and rely on LeCras to be the forwardline general?

Where did you hear this may I ask as depending upon your "source" as to whether there's any truth in it? Not having a go or anything but in these days of social media rumours seem to be rife and increasing by the day or the hour:(!

This is really reminding me of 2012 - won 6 in a row and were flying in 1st, then injuries hit and we slid to 5th. There's no way to replace both JK and JD in the forward line - this could be a big problem.
