Coaches when under the pump usually bring in experienced players than younger ones.
Sign of the end IMO.

To be risk averse after round 2 just doesn't bode well. Short or long term.

It's a tough gig finding the positives of those ins but here goes...

Wardlaw predominantly plays the JK role and pressures the holy he'll out of * inexperienced small backs. If he wasn't needed in the midfield so had to play permanent small forward, he'd be picked ahead of JK every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Surprisingly, CCJ had some nice moments in the praccy game, and he will allow Bath to stay permanently forward where he's most dangerous.

Corr is coming off a long layoff but even only close to his best he's still, for now, a more reliable defender than Dawson. With Chom playing he takes 2MP when he's forward so we need our 2nd & 3rd defenders to be agile enough to play on Caddy / Langford.

That said, $2.60 for * H2H feels like as good a value for a hedge of happiness that I can recall.

No Hardeman, No Whitlock, No Boab..

But CCJ and Apples..

What The Wtf GIF

I don't get why they've done this. So with X as first ruck, and Bath a permanent forward, what is the point of bringing in CCJ? He's not a forward, and he'll only be providing ruck relief to X for 5-10 mins a quarter.
Seem like a baffling, waste of a selection. We should have brought in someone else who can have greater impact, such as Banch, Stiffy, or RHJ.

The key forwards rest as well. He'll likely play 20% game time in the ruck and 40% forward. Or something like that.

All jokes aside has there ever been a more uninspiring team selection? This game was calling for a statement to be made.

Hardeman > McDonald
Banch > Konstanty
Dawson > Logue
Anyone for Simpkin
Just the norm..

I still think there were better options to bring in that would offer greater impact

100% agree. My devil advocacy aside, selection is diabolical.

Banch has every right to be filthy. He deserves a crack.

Only reason CCJ makes sense is if they are managing X’s workload, but even then I still I hate it.

Corr in sucks too.
Banch is unlucky. Caleb moving up the ground likely took the opportunity for him to come into the team.
Hopefully he gets a shot when Dov needs to be managed.

You might actually be onto something. From memory did Big X come off hobbling against Eagles at some point?
Perhaps they are managing him through it with the short turnaround and a looming Good Friday battle against Pittonet.

I'd have liked to see Hardemann or Dawson instead of an underdone Corr, as they are the future.

I hate CCJ as a selection from the point of view as he is shit, but I think this might signal that Tremabath is there to swing back if needed and CCJ will take the second ruck duties.

It’s the only reason I can come up with as to why we would select the “Carbon Rod”
I have come to accept that's the case.

Imagine he sits on the pine till 15 to 20 mark and gives X a 5 min chop out. 20 mins of game time or 20% TOG.

Clarko and snoz must have a delorian and saw the future of an extra interchange before resigning him.

Its a dilemma. The ruck changes have impacted our clearance game. CCJ is our only play and it sucks.
