We will win because of them, we won’t lose because of Corr or CCJ for 30% game time

This has disaster written all over it:

CCJ, baffling
Wardlaw lucky if he plays 55% game time
Corr, has to be underdone, played one game of footy since May last year and that was as a forward.
Dovaston only small forward, was miles off last week when pressure was up.
Duursma, probably only got a game because he’s still missing and they can’t tell him he’s dropped.

We all know Merrett will run around unchecked and be the difference in the game. Caddy will kick a bag. Wright and Perkins will have their 1 in every 20 good games.

Between Konstanty, Banch, Spargo and the two gamer dovaston, there isn’t much between any of these guys to make you chose one of the other.

Banch and Konstanty can go hard.
Dove and Spargo have craft working for them.

I’d keep dove and probably go Spargo at this point.

* are bad but they aren't that bad. I watched most of their game against Hawthorn, a top 4 contender, and they were only 5 points down halfway through the second quarter. Hawks went up a notch as they should have but * ran that game out.

Didn't watch their last game but Port were always going to bounce back at home.

There will be a response by them. We basically got hit with a wet lettuce leaf by the media compared to them.

Every chance we concede early goals and be playing catch up football for the entire match.

It’s sad that the vast majority of us have no trust in this group.

This needs to be a dominant win.

Our senior everyman forward/ruck (Darling) needs/wants a break, bring in our backup (CCJ) who also has solid form in practice.

Our underperforming defensive forward (K) gets replaced by a bloke who possibly has the highest ceiling in our midfield (wardlaw). Maybe brings Caleb into the forward line to cover K (Caleb will do it better). Kerch will move back (he is not ready for the centre) and Wardlaw will improve us in every way.

Here's the other side of that coin.

Our most experienced defender (Moulin Louge) is out, so instead of bringing in Hardeman and trusting LMac, Chom and Pink to mind Caddy, Wright and Langford, we bring in Corr, who the board hates due to shitful performances as a defender last year (lost 50% of his 1 on 1s, fwiw).

Our senior everyman forward/ruck (Darling) needs/wants a break, we bring in our backup (CCJ), who is even more useless at jumping than Darling and fumbles every second possession.

Our underperforming defensive forward (K) gets replaced by Daniel, not Wardlaw. Wardlaw comes in irrespective. Caleb won't do it better because a) Caleb has no ability to stop attackers on the spread nor K's defensive doggedness, and b) opposition defenders now have an easy aerial escape route from our d50, if they didn't already have one.

Kerch will move back and will still fumble as he has been doing because his finger's still giving him grief. Wardlaw will improve us on the inside and hopefully in the tackling stakes but it's touch and go whether he improves the mid-fwd connection. Obviously would much rather have him in than not, provided he doesn't get injured

That is a miserable side of the coin.

For all of his deficiencies, Daniel got 11 tackles to K's 3. And that is the only thing K does.

Darling should be fading out this season, so give CCJ a chance. We'll never know if we don't try

Logie to Corr is out of necessity.

It’s an actually a massive game. A loss ends Scott’s time at ess. It might not be after the game but when they are 0-10 or 1-9 he won’t survive.

And a loss to this trash team puts the heat on us.
