Given we play Friday night this week I want to see us go in with our best possible lineup and put Essendon to the sword. I want us to show just how good we can be when up and running and generate some excitement among the media heading into the off season. You know give them a reason to be talking us up as a finals contender next year. At the same time we obviously need to make at least 1 change from yesterday with Griffiths unlikely to come up. That means either Astbury or Batchelor has to come in. I'd also be tempted to bring in Elton for McGuane and give him another taste over the last 2 weeks but I just don't see that happening as I reckon they will stick with McGuane.

A few weeks ago they mentioned deciding if King would go in for his PCL, they'll ask that question again. You know something is wrong when King tops our goal scoring list.

Elton, Astbury, O'Hanlon, Arnot* would all be interesting for a full game.
*should be off the injury list but I doubt they'd send him for a full game

Potential Out: Griffiths :(, King, McGuane
In: Batchelor, Elton, Astbury

Move Helbig to mid, play Astbury back there, Elton forward

Gee Ellis was disappointing yesterday. Took a few shorts steps far too often. If we had anyone to come in I would take him out of the line-up.

Out: Griffiths (injured - still not sure what to make of him), McGuane

In: Batchelor, Elton

I am just wondering...how is Griffiths? I didn't want to start a new thread to find out, but what happened to him was awful. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Unfortunately it's not about what we want now. Our season is over. If we win we win, If we lose we lose. It's time to assess the cattle against a similar opposition. No use seeing if they can perform against Port, I would expect them too.
I think the call should be made now to send the blokes in for surgery.

i would think they know the cattle strengths and weaknesses now whether they play or not.

McGuane signed his marching papers yesterday, awful awful game, did nothing to take attention away from Jack. Would much rather see Elton or X up there with O'Hanlon playing a third forward as he can obviously kick off a set shot, great goal after the sirn.

Griff will be out, Astbury would be the likely option, would have liked to see Griff or Post up forward in one of the last few matches with McGuane maybe going down back, but id say Griffs season is over

Time to play the kids. We need them to get a feel for next season.

IN: Elton, Dea, Batchelor
OUT: McGuane, White, Morris (shoulder surgery)

Think Morris should be put in to get him ready for next year. This club made the fatal error with playing Riewoldt when he was clearly injured, it has stuffed his year up this season, let's not do that with Morris. If Maric needs surgury, get him in too and bring in Browne or Derrickx. If King needs it too, then do it. These games mean so little in comparison to next year. Hope the club do not stuff up again. Get the guys in so they are ready for Day 1 of Pre Season. Not half way through.

I want a forward line that consists of Riewoldt, Griffiths and Elton. Please. Three tall, young forwards. I hope the coaching staff wake up to see that Griffiths is a forward. Stop ruining him back there. It is just not natural. We have a massive asset who if played close to goal would be so dangerous, yet we take that away from us. Elton is the future and needs to play games to know the level he needs to get to.

We need to keep playing Post, not because he's good but to pump up his trade value for off-season. Then the Saints, Bulldogs will be like "GEEE look at that post he's such a gun with all his marking, we don't care if he can dispose of the ball we just want another post who can mark the ball. Post was able to play with the Tigers, woweee what a beauty. Dat post"
Then we'll be like "Damn right, look at dem marking stats go"
Then they'll be like "Dat post!!!! We need to chuck everything at him!!! Here you go Richmond you can have our first round pick, hell you can have another (if Bulldogs another first round pick)
Then i'll be like "MUAHAHAHAHAHA, then i'll run my ass off"
:thumbsu:

Yeah great incentive. Who gives a stuff. Another free september is upon us.
I give a stuff and I am sure plenty here do. If you don't care if we win or lose games then you don't really fit the stereotype of supporter that has stuck by though thick and thin.

U
Season over. Surgery time.

Out: Griffiths (Concussion), King (Knee), Morris (shoulder), I. Maric (groin), McGuane (omit).

In : Astbury, Verrier, Dea, Browne/Graham , Elton/Derickx

- Would prefer Browney, hope Graham's papers are stamped.
- DRex having been named as an emergency for the last couple and having a career to play for may get the nod.
Are you serious !! do you want us to cop a spanking ..with a couple of weeks to go i think we can wait..You need to get off the weed..

Only 2 games left, let's give Elton another crack, I like the look of him. I also like the idea of debuting kids because I reckon giving them a taste of the big time is a good thing, it takes the edge off the nerves a bit and at least they know what's required in the off season.

Over the next two weeks hopefully one or two of Arnot, Verrier, Darrou can get a game. Not sure on their injury status though.

Must say Griffiths shoulders look 100% now. Seen him land on them heavily a few times this season and he has come up fine. I can handle the minor stuff knowing he'll be back a week or 2 later
