In: Browne. esp if Sandilands is in. While he is a plodder I reckon his ruckwork is pretty good and his effort is 100%. Issue is what to do with him when Ivan is in the ruck. Stick him in the goalsquare? Cotch, Dusty and Lids have done that well for us. Put him on the bench? Robs rotations, as mentioned. Can certainly rest Ivan in the square for a while. So it's a risk to bring him in, but hands up who wants to have a look at him in the 1s before year end?
Griff (heck he's fragile) will be out so there's the change.

Looks like Sandilands is back in this week guys. But yeh, Fyfe is doubtful. All the best, good to see a majority of you are taking the flight over, awsome support.
Has he played a WAFL game at all? Would be a big risk to bring him straight back in, but then a player like Sandi probably doesn't need a WAFL game to get back into the swing of things.

Second part is bang on, there's no point in wasting guys like Fyfe and Sandilands in the WAFL, couldn't imagine someone like Deledio or Cotchin for you guys missing games through injury and not coming in immediately when fit.

Yeh, WAFL is outta the question , unless there is kryptonite present nothing will stop the big freak.

Yeah fair enough.
I will be gutted if we lose this as I am with any loss, but if it means Essendon don't make the finals, then it will be for a worthy cause.

Way over the top with that call!! Watch the replay and you can only hope the is not too much damage. Accident prone a better call??
Yep OK, accident prone better sums up this one. Previous one was fragile (tiny calf nip, out for 3), prior to that shoulders caved in a couple of times in seemingly innocuous falls to the ground (compare #38s shoulder impact work and recovery). Quad injuries etc etc

12 touches, 1 tackle, 1 clearance, PLUS 3 inside 50, at 92% de, add that to his 11 pressure acts, 3 assists and 7 score involvements i . I've re-watched the game, but it certainly wasn't to see the White highlights package.

I remember a few years back when Kingy started playing more up forward, and in one of the early ones he only had a handful of disposals on Hurne, a lot here had him penciled in in for a possible out, but it was one of his best games totally nullifying his rebound of the back half. Whites game wasnt as good, but his job on Murphy would have eared praise from Ross Smith this week. I would put my entire pay packet on the fact he will not be dropped.

I agree, I highly doubt he'll be dropped. But as I said, I don't think he'll be getting a new contract, so might as well blood some youngsters as the season is (most likely) over. Just my opinion.

Why would the club get rid of a good quality 25yo bottom tier depth player with out and out elite speed and endurance and good foot skills? Will never be in our best 22, but injuries and suspensions do occur.

FWIW, we need to have some kind of insurance for big Ivan when he needs a rest. McGuane rucking lead to the dogs winning it out of the center when they made there push. Add to that we play at Patterson and that Ivan will most definetely need a rest through the game, the tiges could do worse than to have a Browne competing at the bounces when Ivan is off...its imperative we dont yeild any ground in the ruck, in this game because they will hurt us big time and they aint the doggies..

Call me crazy but I think that is exactly where Post offers a good option. Seems to lift when in the ruck and has the height and size to at least compete. I cringe when I see McGuane forced in there, thank God we've finished using Tucky at least. Forget Chaplin I'd much rather see us go after someone to play this role, its our biggest deficiency by far

Against weaker rucks I'd agree, but not against Griff and Sandi.

With Sandi now likely to be back, any thinking I had of going for the more mobile DX (who is a better match for Clarke) is gone. Gotta go for a big boy, and that means Browne
