Dmac gave us heaps of run and finally had the 25 touches we have been screaming for. Played well.
I must have missed him through the rain... as hardly noticed him.

Dont think we will see many changes.

Grigg will stay in - he is a class act and will revel at AFL level.

Tambling - good the bad and the ugly today - must be given more than one game though and need his pace - although he does not always use it to advantage will be imp on Pattersons.

However a number of players are simply not playing up to standard for 4 qrs;

Jenkins is a dumb footballer, when he plays on instinct he plays much better. He is a third tall and not a KPP.

Porps - makes some bad errors and just cannot play 4 qrs. Did some good stuff in the first half?

Mackay - his last half saved him.

VB - his last qr was the best he has played this year. He must play with this level of desperation each week.

Sauce - more competetive this week and some marks but he still jumps far too early on occasions.

Better efforts from Vince, and Wright.

I want more offensive work from Talia.

Need for better kicking from Otten.

Our forward line needs a lot of work. The opposition move around us like witches hats and nearly casued us to lose this game again.

Suggestions:

Johnston for Jenkins - he needs a kick up his arse with his kicking and his desperation. We need to see if Johnston can play too.

Kerridge for Thompson - we need guys who can run.

Problem then we are going very very young - this may be ok in the coming weeks against younger and on occasions weaker teams - but Freo are very experienced - we need to be careful we get the mix right.

McKernan needs to be second ruck - and Otten goes out or McKernan need to get a full game at the Bays.

Mackay had a great second half and kept Varcoe to what 3 touches. Thought he was quiet early but no way does he get dropped.

Agree with Kerridge in for Thommo (a week to rest). Smack for Jenkins. Keen to see LJ as well.
 Vacoe kept Varcoe to 3 touches

I too thought Dmac was poor today. When they interview Sando at 1/2 time I was pretty annoyed he said that Grigg would come off when Laird returned. To me the obvious move was to leave him in and sub Mackay. I think he was ok in the last 1/4 though.

i'll be very surprised if Danger or Thommo play next week. Danger was still in a sling today and if Thommo couldn't run out the game today then he wont be good to go next week IMO.

Which makes for an interesting day for either Douggie or Sloane. Crowley will run with someone, so who gets the tag?

My changes are

Out - Thommo
In - Kerridge

Also, Otten was ok today, but i'd rather play LJ if we plan on using him forward again.

I'd be tempted to drop Jenkins, was deplorable again, bring in LJ who can actually kick straight. Seriously, we recruited him, why not play him when he can and is playing well in SANFL?

In: Johnston, Kerridge
Out: Jenkins, Thompson

Having said that, it will more than likely be McKernan to come in

My money would be on Crowley tagging Douglas.

Are people serious about dropping Jenkins? One of few success stories of the season. And go to Freo with just Jacobs rucking solo against Sandi and Clarke. Good plan. For some perspective, the key forwards who clunk grabs AND kick straight have grandstands named after them.

Hopefully Thompson rested. Subiaco is not the ground to nurse yourself around on. We had the courage to take him off the ground and the world didn't come to an end. Hopefully we'll have the courage to give him a week or two off as well.

Thompson out, Kerridge in for mine. Only change. Kerridge as sub.

Don't want McKernan. Stupid act, doesn't deserve to be straight back in.

Too slow and top heavy if Johnston squeezes into the forward line as well.

I dont think sando has ever subbed at half time with no injury. If he had subbed dmac at half time and we then got an injury in the third we are playing a man down.

yeah I wouldn't have done it at half time, but Laird had 15 minutes to wait before returning. So IMO after the 15 minute mark of the 3rd i'd have subbed dmac and left Grigg on.

People are being very harsh on JJ. 50 scoring shots fot the year is a fine effort for most let alone a guy who had played 10 games prior to this year and is leading the line without Tex and Moneybags. He needs more games not less.

I'm a Jenkins' fan,. but I reckon he may need a rest. He's been taking the best defender most of the year and lacks experience. He cost us big time on several occasions today. Give LJ a shot. He can't offer less than Jenkins has the last few weeks and it's just possible we'll find out the bloke can play at this level as we have with a few others this year--when they've been given a go.

No way Thommo will be able to cover Pattersons, give the poor bugger a rest.

I'd also bring in LJ. Yes Otten was reasonable today, but we need a forward that can lead and dob a goal from 50 given Freos clogging defence. Otten is not a forward, he stank last week and the odds of playing two decent games up forward are remote.

Out: Thommo and Otten
In: Kerridge and LJ

Otten was up there to do a defensive job on Harry Taylor

What the heck did Otten do wrong? As for Jenkins thats wishful thinking.
He isn't a forward and is a poor shot at goal. He did reasonably well today but if we are going to pick him as forward based on a good game why didn't we drop him for a poor game against Collingwood?

But it comes down to this he is not a forward.

Mmm could we use him as the sub to play for a 1/4 or a 1/4 and a half maybe.
