Fremantle have one of the biggest midfields in the competition - Mundy (192cm, 91kg), Barlow (189, 91), Crowley (188, 89), Fyfe (190, 88)...hell even Clancee Pearce (182, 89) is big.

So we will take in Brad McKenzie (186, 84) who is still undeveloped fully, in the wet...unless he goes to the backline and we move Atley into the centre? Atley is out of form, might be worth a shot. Either way our midfielders, like Bastinac (184, 84), Wells (181, 80), Mullett (184, 80) etc will be way outsized, and other than Wells they will be relying on Swallow and Greenwood to do an absolute mountain of work around the stoppages.

edit: Perhaps Spud Firrito could go into the middle as well at times. He won't be able to run a full game out in the midfield, but with Thompson/Hansen/Grima down back we seriously do NOT need any more slow/tallish players. Just to throw his size around and recapture some form...will be interesting as to how Scott approaches this game.

Good call on Spud. A bigger body around the ball will help and I think it'd do him and us a world of good. I expect Greenwood to finish the game with about 20 tackles.

This exactly why we need to look at bolstering the midfield for next season. With Swallow, Ziebs and Cunners all going we get by, but as soon as one or two arent there we lack in the engine room. We have enough outsiders, flankers and KPers we're just very reliant in those 3 imo. Someone with good skills that can play mid (both in and outside) would be ideal. This will be a huge test for us.......... Levi if there was ever a stage to stand up on and make a case for yourself, this is it.

I can't believe BS didn't bring in Jacobs. So in the wet we go into the gold coast game 1 inside mid down (ziebell), and get destroyed, and when it rains today we go another inside mid down (greenwood in, cunnington out). At least BS is improving and learning from his mistakes........

Yes, but that would involve straying from the stubbornness that has been well documented on that most credible of sources.... BF. I hear week after week various suggestions are made to Brad but he just puts his hands over his ears, rocks like an infant and says "Not listening, not listening".

But seriously, we've heard him say that strategically he could have played Spud in the middle more, but hasn't done so for the sake of getting games into the kids (Ziebell, Cunnington etc.) Given they're not playing today, and the size of the Freo midfield, I wouldn't mind seeing him in there a bit to shake things up.
