I hated the idea of bringing in West, but I think he has been pretty good since he has come in. I think there is no doubt he has improved our ability to win centre square clearances.

However, we aren't good enough to carry all of West, Martin, Freeman and Schache in the one team. IMO at least one of Freeman and Schache needs to go. They both were pretty terrible against Carlton.

I wouldn't mind rotating Martin forward more (Martin did OK in that role on the weekend) and playing just one other tall forward - potentially even Walker. And instead bring in someone to help keep the ball in the forward line like Green (if fit) or Mathieson (someone needs to replace Christensen as well - so probably one of these two).

Bell was utterly atrocious against Carlton - perhaps Bewick can come in in his place. Andrews for Paine probably seems straight forward. Nick Robbo was also horrible, but we can probably let that slide for one week given our lack of available depth.

NRobbo has been OK previously and at least I am not watching going "why isnt he trying". Needs to be persisted with, when he gets it right he gives us some spark.

I agree. He has played just over 20 games so far. Get 50 games into him and he will grow into playing at this level very well I think. Another season of development playing in the top grade will do wonders for him.

I think right now he plays like everything is an emergency which reduces his effectiveness, but I think the poise and decision making will keep improving if we persist.

What I like about him is that he plays like tackling and pressure is actually an emergency and we have too few doing that at the moment.

No way is Keays getting dropped.

Obviously hasn't had a Petracca/Mills/Oliver season but continually does the little things well and seems to be in some way involved whenever we have a good play going forward. Only gonna get better from here

I don't see how we are going to beat other teams when our defensive running is that bad apparently. And if it is the majority of the team or quite a large portion of it, then how do you fix it? You can't drop everyone.
