Changes V Freo

I'd go in unchanged.

Macdonald I've been impressed with in the last two weeks, and whilst I'd love to see Bail back in, I can't see who should come out.

Kudos for not dropping Rivers for once LS :P

For mine,

In: Bail/Morton
Out: Cheney

Bail in better form, so more likely him than Cale. Would consider bringing Morton in for Jordie, but he's found some good form of late.

Warnock unlucky, but DB has said we'll be going in with a running-focused team... he doesn't fit that bill, Joel Mac does. And I can't see a match-up for him in Freo's fwd line (Bradley?)... Frawley would have to take Pav when he plays there (Dunn when he's in the middle).
Cheney also unlucky, but I'm not a huge fan of him. His disposal is a constant battle.

Cheney's courage going back with the flight was a highlight for mine, the kid has guts but on the big Subiaco ground a running player like Bail would be a very good in for us.

He's got pace and endurance, he was made for this type of ground and is playing very well at Casey.

Cheney just a victim of circumstance.

DB will stick with Cheney rather than Bail IMO... Why bring in a player that played well at VFL level, and take out a guy who played solidly at AFL level... same lineup this week IMO.

Cheney out for Bail is the obvious one. Cheney isn't horrible and I love his courage but his combination of skill and speed is a bit below the standard of our defence and I think he's battling Joel Mac and losing right at the moment. Bail brings in that run and pace we need.

I'd also love to see Morton in for the wide open space of Subi but he's not smashing the door down the same way as Bail as and it's difficult to find someone to drop.

The forwards all played their role. Dunn stepped up in a midfield role, can't see Bailey dropping McKenzie, Scully or Trenners. PJ could be in doubt but has probably booked his flight with a half decent game and the giant awaiting us.

Down back I'm still not keen on Rivers or Joel Mac, but I don't think Warnock or Morton deserve their spots yet.

I'd be happy with Bail for Cheney (who I just don't rate as being AFL level) and would also like to see the run of Morton in, but I'm not sure who for.
Brad Gotch's review of Morton's efforts on the weekend was far from glowing.

I liked Macdonald on a wing he came into in the second half, i think cheney is worth persisting with for another week. I think Bail should be definitely included his leg speed run and carry style is perfect for Subi and his form has been great at Casey.

Johnson could be an unlucky out, Jamar vs Sandilands. Id back Dunn to compete with Bradley in the ruck, however one problem could be Dunn would b a perfect match up for Pav if he plays in the midfield.

I think Macdonald's game was far better than Cheney's.

The Bail/Cheney swap is the only one I see happening, if any changes are made.

Macdonald turned the ball over more than Cheney did though. Almost every kick Joel had seemed to skew off the side of the boot, even when they somehow found a target. I thought their games were of about the same rating

Yep, both definitely have questionable disposal, actually Cheney's might be better but he seems to have the same hesitation that often brings Bartram undone.

I think Joel Mac is harder and has better composure, and I felt that way about the game on Sunday. JMO obviously.

Yeah tough call. I think pretty much everyone is agreed that they would at least like to see Bail in as the "Travelling Emergency"????

Tough to change a winning formula. Pretty sure it wont be a 4 or 5 in situation though :thumbsu:

Two ruckmen is absolutely vital. Need to watch the Richmond game to see how they stopped Sandi having a massive impact.

They didn't, he had about 40 hitouts, compared to 10 for Graham and 20 for Richmond as a whole. But to be fair Jamar, Johnson and Dunn are far more capable than Angus Graham and Tyrone Vickery.

Hehe, I think you already posted that dude!:p

Yeah, hard to see any changes being made this week. Agree with everyone else here in that would love to see Bail out there playing, but who do you drop for him? I thought Cheney did enough to warrant another game, and MacDonald played one of his better games for us against Essendon.

Like someone else said here, i think Bail will be taken over as an emergency, but probably won't play unless there is a late injury scare. Morton may get taken over as well. His run would be handy at Subi.

Great to see Max Gawn very close to playing. Hopefully this time next year, he's our backup ruckman to Jamar in the 1's. Good luck Max...

In
McDonald, Bail, Morton

Out
Chenney, MacDonald, Scully

If McDonald fails to come up then Scully lives on. I think Scully looked a little flat last weekend and could do with the week off. I think for us to win at subi we will need as many runners as we can get, Morton and Bail bring that run.
