I understand what you’re saying but Tex in his second year at aged 20 kicked 35 goals at AFL level. He also kicked 50+ in the SANFL at 19 years of age.

Fogarty is a long way off of that

Tex also had a much easier time of it in the SANFL then Fog has which is worth noting (also ignoring we've haven't given Fogarty a lot of time up forward, we've been trying to round out other parts of his game). Unfortunately for any forward, a lot of opportunities for production are completely out of your control. One had a mid table side, the other had to make the most with a side that was closer to amateur level (as the only negative of our SANFL side is that injuries to our AFL will gut its quality very quickly).

Not to discount Texs performance, but it is difficult to compare those two. Ready, or not, Fog should be in our main side because there is no other spot where we could properly develop him as a key forward, it is the only real weakness of our SANFL set up is it isn't the best for developing tall forwards.

One thing I need to mention if Fogarty comes in the team then, its to replace Knights or Murthy. He still short of endurance, to play a full KPF.

Just no. You do not sacrifice defensive pressure in your forward line, or speed. Both are cardinal sins in this sport.

If Fog gets a forward gig, it is either for Tex, or Lynch. They're the only options available to us for Fogarty as they are the only tall spots in our forward line that don't have a ruck component. That 2nd ruck position is a real drama right now, as we can't use a KPD for it as to put it bluntly, our KPDs are for the first time in a very long time, a dumpster fire. Equally, the only viable midfielder who could do it is Greenwood, and again, it's not something I'd consider.

This is all my opinion only but since Doedee went down we don’t really have another player like him but Fog could fill it better than any if he can raise his backline game, so looks like that’s what they’re trying to do and hopefully be a finals player.

I'd still question why it wasn't addressed off-season, if there was a condition that made him vulnerable to a knock - but it is definitely less of a concern.

How do we maintain a backline with 3 horrible exponents of disposal? Kelly, Hartigan and Talia are as untrustworthy with the ball as anyone is.
We cannot continue with all 3. I'd rather Otten for Hartigan and Scholl for Kelly. This gives us a bit more surety with the ball. What Otten lacks in speed he makes up in intelligence and sometimes that matters more.

If you have an outside midfielder who isn't occasionally burning the ball by biting off more then they can chew, you have an absolute potato in the position.

It's the risk associated with the position, it is their job to be attempting the hard/risky/potentially zone breaking passes. Not to be safe with their ball use.

Doedee is a midsize agile, pair off interceptor.

Fog is a bull natural forward.

Fog is the natural replacement for one man in our team. A man who has been underperforming for over a year but has deep financial and social connections with board members.
