What he said was ok, but I think the general sentiment is that it’s a bit untidy that we have now had 3it players out in the media discussing selection in a manner that we wouldn’t normally see.
I agree its not great, but listening and reading all 3 statements the only 1 i'm really upset with Gibbs. Greenwood responded to a question on a footy podcast about his readiness to play at the AFL level, and he did it in a way that in general was respectful of the coaching staff's goals for him. JJ blasted his own form as well as many other players in the team in a radio interview, his choice of wording was a little dicey in places (especially when paraphrased out of context), but more or less it was not a detrimental series of statements, in fact I actually think it was a refreshingly realistic take on our teams performance (even though it still won't help him if I was selecting the team).

Gibbs is the one who was the least professional IMO. From the looks of it, it wasn't a radio interview, or a podcast, he gave statements to a journalist for the fricken Age newspaper, why would anyone do that in this circumstance? It makes no sense too me. He just needed to shut up and concentrate on getting back to his best. You were dropped Bryce, get over it, and for god sake's don't take your gripes to the damn media!

The other 2 I can live with, but I sincerely hope the AFC had some stern words with Gibbs over that!

He wants to stay at the AFL Level to help turn things around
“ I was put into the leadership this year .. helping from the SANFL is going to feel difficult
The message is the same.
"I am a leader. I'm a big deal. I can only help the side if I play AFL. Helping the team/club is going to be hard if I'm dropped".
Leaders never say stuff like that.
He can help the side and show leadership
--- by playing better and kicking goals.
--- around the clubrooms and in private (not radio) chats
--- and take it on the chin if he's dropped, play like a beast and not a sook in the SANFL, kick goals and EARN his place in the AFL side (as well as his many $s every week).

Yes and while we are at it can we stop this rubbish about JJ as well? and actually, fix the bigger Issues first, like Ball movement.
But if your right then why have we not been doing it, why
Also If we can get an advantage shouldn't we look for it, GC back up ruck is below average in the middle,
I started this shit because I got sick of ready all this crap about how shit our forwards are. then talking about Swapping this player with Player with no regard to any form in the SANFL, Actually believing that a 192cm player will go OK in centre under 6-6-6 rules.

Yea I will stop,

I genuinely believe you haven't seen Jenkins play AFL.

It's painful to watch. But still, Jenkins deserves to be dropped based on his lairising shots on goal alone.
2 rolled gold shots my aunty could kick instead he kicked the leather off both and fluffed them like a freaking madman. We lose by 2 goals. Piss him off. His head's not right.
This!
It is painful to watch, but worse, it hurts the team.
As far as leadership goes, Jenkins would make a good politician. It's all about him.

I liked what he said, Tex not so much.

Profound.

What is it then?

It's poor list management. Doedee going down doesn't help, but we're short of KPD's and third tall defenders. We've also got two 200cm giants in the forward line.

If it was about developing Fog, we'd be giving him runs in the midfield to get his hands on the ball.

Fog is a KPP not a midfielder.

Couldn't it be as simple as Fogarty is being played in defence to enhance his defensive skills?
I do believe that is the intention and I hope this has been communicated to him. I'm just not sure with all the training and match sims done these days its required as much as ''back in our day''

Are you going to threaten him again?

Tell him how tough you were, and how back in the day you’d take him out back and sort him out.

Maybe something different this time? 😂😂😂
How are you going Sanders. Have not heard from you for a while,
And I Just Asked him not too, Elite Crow is not like you, he can hold a discussion without the need for a perssonnal attack.

Sensible reply appreciated, thanks :thumbsu:.
1) JJ is 200cms. Who's the other one? If they drop JJ, Fogarty's the obvious replacement if they wanted to stay tall.
2) From what I saw last year, Fogarty is an obvious goalkicking, strong-marking, pack-crashing forward. Has youth/ fearlessness and mongrel on his side too. I do not understand why they're playing him back in the SANFL (is he at CHB?), unless they need his type of game down back, (minus the goalkicking :)) for the good of the side.
193cms and 94Kgs is a bit chunky-tall for a mid, isn't it? He's bigger/taller than CEY who's built like a brick you-know-what.

He showed in 1 interview why he should'nt be in the leadership group. He also showed in his performance last week why he should'nt be in the team. The fact he was put into the leadership group is frightening. So if your an 18 year old kid and you see one of our leaders back away from a mark last week you would be confused. He should have answered the question with " I don't deserve to be picked". Just show some honesty for once. By the way the club should have cancelled all interviews. Do your talking on the field.

Hopefully Jordan Butts can fill the role but he may still be a year or two away
Jordan Butts is a big surprise at the level he is showing early if he keeps improving at this level, there will be calls for him to play this year,
By year end I believe he would be overtaking Hartigan and Otten as the next tall in Line. And at 198 he moves well, His ability to read the game and backing himself is starting to show every game he plays,
Bit of weight/muscle and he going to be a hard unit to beat and catch,

Strachan and Himmelberg (in the SANFL forward line).

A 5-10 minute burst in the midfield was what I meant. He's a similar size to CEY and has played midfield at times before we drafted him.

The list is crap though, and you know it, if your theory that the ball is being delivered into the forward line not well enough or often enough, then those players that are failing to do that, need to be dropped or pick up their act, is there depth to get rid of those players and replace them with players that can.

Answer NO

All comes down to the list the coach isnt out their playing
No Sanders is correct.
