Five players we need to bring in:
Greenwood
Gibbs
Gallucci
Stengle
Fogarty

They're better than several of those in the 22. Sure we're at a low ebb currently but let's at least pick our strongest 22 to give ourselves our best chance of winning.

Limiting it to five outs will be tricky as so many are playing poorly.

Jones looked quite wobbly so I'd expect us to be cautious there. That's the easiest one.

Three key defenders is too many and Hartigan has been the worst of the three. That's two.

Poholke is a kid but hasn't impressed much at AFL level at all. Three.

No idea why we brought CEY back. He's had so many chances and years and never nailed it. Four.

Kelly, Knight, Mackay, Lynch, Jenkins, Murphy all fighting it out for the last player to be dropped. Hmmmm let's see.... I'll go Mackay. Because he's the worst footballer in the history of the club and it's a long standing joke that he keeps getting games.

Back 7 - Talia, Keath, Kelly (lucky), Smith, Laird, Milera, Gibbs

Forwards - Walker, Jenkins (lucky), Lynch, Fogarty, Betts, Stengle, Murphy (lucky)

Ruck - ROB

Mids - Atkins, Knight, Greenwood, M Crouch, B Crouch, Sloane, Gallucci
McKay is not the worst player on the history of the club. That’s ridiculous. Without cey on cunnington in the first half we would have gone down by 6 goals.

Nice to see people coming around on Knight.

A few years ago I got hounded down for saying he wasn't AFL standard because he doesn't get enough of the ball and doesn't do enough with it.

Seems others are slowly discovering this reality. He is an extremely vanilla and highly replaceable player

He’s a solid role player, whom in the right side could carve out a solid career. At the moment he’s kind of caught between a midfielder and a small forward and isn’t offering terribly much as either.

Again, like many, he’s falling into the category of playing well enough to avoid the axe, but isn’t actually good enough to help us. Plenty in this category inc Mackay, Hartigan, Kelly, Murphy...

We got annihilated in the midfield in the first half

Knight has the same career trajectory as Mackay.

A supposed "role player" who aside from one game every five years is completely incapable of being a match winner and plods along getting 15 touches of no influence. He is lauded for supposed "defensive" attributes but offers nothing else.

Knight is a major disappointment.

Looked like he could be anything in that Bulldogs 2015 final

Jeez another similarity to Mackay. Plays his career best game as a young player in a final that feels like an eternity ago

In: Sauce(FF), Gibbs, Gallucci, Wilson, Greenwood. +Fast footy.
Out: Jenkins, Mackay, Murphy, Jones, Poholke.

It would be nice if Pyke thought about reinventing the Sauce.

Play him at Full Foward while letting ROB continue in ruck.

Here's what I would do.
Out; JJ, Murphy, CEY, Jones (injury)
In; Jacobs, Greenwood, Stengle, Gibbs.
Although I'm not at all convinced about O'Brien I'd prefer him to JJ in his current form, at least ROB can take a mark and show a bit of grunt. JJ is a powderpuff.

What role did he play that night?

It wasn’t as a half forward. The reason our platers stagnant is due to the fact we play them out of position.

Put Knights on Swallow this week and watch how different he will perform.

It won't be any different. He's not a good tagger and isn't effective in the center square

And you want to play fast break football?

Sauce will offer next to nothing in defensive pressure on the way out.

We should go old school and let O’brien or Sauce play as the loose man behind the ball now we do not have a intercepting defender. Him as a key forward would see the ball come out just as quick as it does now.

Have to do something about slow, poor defending, crap kicking backline. Cannot play Kelly, Hartigan and Talia together, Laird is putrid, Smith has lost confidence, Keath is the only shining light.

He's been on the list for six years. He's not really a developing player any more.

That is kind of the major argument. We have played them in the wrong spot, they have not developed and are now floundering in AFL limbo.

Give him 1 full season in his best spot and watch him go.

So bearing in mind we are going to bring back Jacobs, Greenwood and Gibbs, here is what I would do.

OUT

Harto - Just awful, the only times he had the ball the North players eyes lit up. Defensively putrid.

Jones - Yeah keep him out. Looked happy and alert after the game but no risk.

Jenkins - Enough is enough, you can't defend that.

Knight - Anyone still want to argue he's best 22 ?? Go your hardest.

Murphy - Offers nothing. Play him in defence or in the SANFL.

CEY - Harsh but he's not as good as Greenwood.

See you could drop 3 or 4 more but that's 9 and that won't happen.

IN

Jacobs - 50/50 ruck forward. We know he's coming back in so let's keep ROB in.

Greenwood - If they don't after yesterday they're mad.

Gibbs - Watched the SANFL replay, he did everything he was meant to do. Happy to give him another week there but we won't.

Stengle - Another small forward who kicks goals please. Will lift for his housemates 300th.

McHenry - Add the same supposed aggression and niggle as Knight but he has actual football ability.

Gallucci - Did enough yesterday, adds some spark.

You could play any number of the others - Sholl, Wilson, Berg, Hamill..... but we won't make 10 changes. Fog MUST play forward in the SANFL, throw JJ back if you have to.

Nah he's just ordinary.

He's not good enough to push into our midfield and he's not a dangerous forward.

Don't think it would make any difference. He is what he is. I don't think he has the skills or ability to be an effective center square player

It’s interesting to read how bad our players are after a loss and how amazing they are after a great win.
