No. *******. Way.

Guess Eddie isn't going to be dropped then.

I agree, I would like to see evidence of a Plan A.
He kicked 3.2 last night. Looked lively at times but their forward line is dysfunctional and that is caused by tex playing too high to allow JJ playing deep who has no football instincts. I would have JJ out and send tex deep out of the square and play more mobile half forward line!!

I know Don is going to back in the group but my changes would be..

Out: Jones (inj), Murphy, Jenkins, Poholke, CEY

In: Gallucci, Stengle, Fogarty, Gibbs, Greenwood (2nd ruck)

Reallllly want to find a spot for Sholl too

So needing development wil should leave CEY in and ROB in and murohy but they all have only another 5 weeks more crap and they have signed their own future

Jones out injured then back to the sanfl for development before another stint for decelopment later in the year

Tex out himmelberg in for him

Betts out stengle in and deserves a crack at it

Wilson in for mackay

Greenwood in for jones

Fog in for harto

I reckon I would be one of the Few that believe Knight needs to go back to SANFL.
But if they are going to improve then your change must be positional like for like,
Our Weakness has been run from the defensce and midfield and contested ball.
Fix the 1st issue and our Midfield will improve with a slight change to personnel.
Hard to judge the Forward line as they did not get much of the Ball or a Chance.
So my attempt which is after I calmed down and watch the game again,

To get some run from defence and to mix it up we need to drop either Hartigan or Kelly, to me Kelly doing a defensive job on the smalls so he stays until brown back,
Midfield we need Grunt, and outside speed and accurate kicks,
Forward a Small defensive player who kicks goals,
From SAT SANFL Greenwood ready (was not ready last week) Gibb got his defensive game back, Gallucci made the most of his chance and is dangerous, Scholl play well and Butts is the surprise packet. Also, Hamill played that defensive small pretty good. Wilson while BOG looked too slow for AFL

With that said
Hartigan Out we either Otten who will play better or go Short with Gibbs/Scholl, Left Field selection is Butts
MacKay Out we need run with kicking smarts, Gallucci or Gibbs in
Knight Out Greenwood to replace, we leave CEY who becomes our run with or up forward thats 2 solid mids who do not get pushed around
Murthy out Stengle in
ROB either out or replaces JJ and Jacobs come in.
Jones if injured for McHenry or Gallucci

Would Give Pohokle another game but not in front of Greenwood, Gibbs, Gallucci

But that a lot of changes

I would think anything up to 6 players should be under consideration if we are in a merit based system.

But we’re not.

Are you saying Pyke lied about the merit based selection policy? :p

I just can't believe it's 2019 and we're still fielding teams including McKay and CEY.

Epic list management and recruitment failures
Don't mind CEY, he's shown he can step in for a week here and there to do a job. He was solid enough last night.

Wilson is too slow?
He'd beat CEY in a canter and if he kicked as well as he did yesterday he'd be a huge upgrade on CEY. If we took the trouble to rookie Pat Wilson at his age and experience it's high time we found out if he's up to the next level because surely CEY has had enough time to show if he's got what it takes. At best CEY will only ever be a depth AFL player.

Decision-Making ball movement he good in the SANFL but will struggle in the AFL,
CEY may be slower on leg speed but he moves the ball quicker. And he has learnt to use his body at the AFL level,

Well we already know exactly that with CEY, and I beg to differ re CEY moving the ball quicker, CEY is more a handballing midfielder, Wilson is more a kicking midfielder.

Suns showing they're not super talented, but they've got heart. That'll be enough to beat us in our current form.
My thoughts exactly.

Carlton are also very poorly coached.

I thought he deserved the boot, but not first on the list. He responded like a quality AFL player should have done.
Yeah exactly- nothing more nothing less.

Not sure he makes it, but then again how would we know.

Gets 1 game last year, 12 disposals and immediately banished.

A genuine question from someone knows nothing about playing the game.

I get that Eddie should not be flying for pack marks but:

(1) is he crashing the pack because no-one else is?
(2) if he is hitting the pack then he would never be in a position to get front & square. So isn't the problem with the entry i50? The ball should be kicked to a marking target over Eddie's head, not in front of him?

Be gentle...

I'd love to see us drop Murph and Jenkins and bring in Greenwood and Stengle. Play Sloane and Greenwood deep forward at stages as they are probably our best marking targets. Would love to see Lachy Scholl get a gig on the half back and push Milera into the middle too.

None of this would happen though.

Correct on all counts

It appears you actually know a lot about footy

B: Himmelberg, Talia, Knight
HB: Smith, Keath, Sholl
C: Gibbs, Sloane, Laird
HF: Gallucci, Fogarty, Stengle
F: Betts, Walker, Greenwood
R: ROB, Brouch, Milera
I: Mackay, Mrouch, Atkins, Lynch

This is only half for next week, but looking into the future we have 5 "best 22" players to come back in the relatively near future.

Seedsman comes in for Mackay.
Gallucci for Knight.
Brown for Kelly
Greenwood for Poholke
Gibbs (in form) for CEY.

We look structurally and personnel wise MUCH better like that. You then add Stengle for Murphy and there's 6 without trying. You've also got Harto, Jenkins and a couple others to tip out. The first 5 alone transform the side.

This is a year to maximize whatever we have as it adds to our draft value.
