Outs- JJ, Kelly, Murphy, DMac, CEY
Ins- Fog, Greenwood, Stengle, Gallucci, Sholl

JJ to go back and find some form. Kelly, DMac, and CEY- cards marked break glass in case of emergency, otherwise never to be seen at AFL level again. Murphy to play back pocket in the SANFL. There's plenty of other blokes on thin ice too, but 5 changes is already a lot. Bring Ned in for Jones too if he fails the concussion tests.

More importantly re Murphy. 3 x I50 tackles for the game as a team. I can live with him being a pressure forward and goals being secondary...just.

We really can’t afford to be carrying him any longer
Yeah that's outrageous. Similar against the Hawks wasn't it?

You can live with a small forward who doesn't tackle a lot if he's kicking goals, likewise if he's tackling a lot but not hitting the scoreboard as much. Under no circumstances should we be carrying a bloke doing neither.

Cam actually did alright in his stopping role against Cunnington, particularly early.

The issue with having a "tagger" like that is losing an avenue to attack.
Last week against Dangerfield was the week we needed a tagger.

Typical crows reacting a day late and a dollar short

Personally:

Hartigan for Otten - Better user, more reliable. No need for lock down 3rd tall against gold coast (Wright/burgess/Luko)

Murphy for Stengle - Stengle in Form, murphy either not good enough/Horribly out of form. No brainer this week. Would be ncie to see him play his first senior game for us alongside eddie in his 300th.

Greenwood for Poholke... I like Myles but Hugh a much better option for a midfielder/fwd like for like.

JJ is horribly out of form but is an important structure player (second ruck). He probbaly needs to go back to the sanfl but unsure how we make it happen. Fog hasn't even been playing fwd in the SANFL but he would be my preferred inclusion if JJ did get dropped.

McKay for Gibbs. Really don't get why hes still in the side. His worst is so noncompetitive.

UNsure re: Jacobs/ROB. ROB's tapwork needs refining, but his around the ground is more competitive than an ageing Sauce.

Most importantly:
I'd bring in a cut-out of Blighty's face stuck on a Broomstick for our entire coaching panel as well. Watching the game live on saturday i couldn't believe how timid our ball use was, and how badly we set up behind the ball both with and without possession. Structures/rolling zone a disgrace, and the way the players held the same structures suggests its a plan rather then confusion. Further to this, Smith/Milera/Atkins/laird all look like they've had the creativity and flair coached out of them; Infuriating!

For me -

Out: CEY, Mackay, Murphy, Jones (inj), Jenkins

In: Greenwood, Gibbs, Gallucci, Stengle, Himmelberg.

CEY -> Greenwood is a pretty easy swap. No matter on the form, we cannot survive with both in our side, and Greenwood is the better footballer.
Mackay -> Gibbs is a tad more complicated. Move Milera up to a full time midfielder, put Gibbs on the half back line primarily and **** Mackay off forever.
Murphy -> Gallucci - Murphy just doesn't have it, with that North game being enough to stamp his card. Gallucci also had a good enough game in the SANFL and we need to continue his development.
Jones -> Stengle - Subbed off for concussion should be at least one week out (maybe even two seeing I'd be wrapping Chayce in cotton wool a bit as he is a rolled gold prospect), and this gives Stengle a chance. I'd also keep Poholke in for another week as a means to give Jones a super easy path back into the squad.
Jenkins -> Himmelberg - Jenkins is shot confidence wise, and Himmelberg is his only replacement in our squad. Again, pretty easy swap for a month or so.

Himmelberg is 198cm compared to JJ who is 199cm.. I wonder if Himmelberg has any experience in the ruck?
If so id be dropping JJ for him

Walker out, Fogarty in

CEY out, Greenwood in

I want to drop Atkins, but with Seedsman, Douglas, McAdam, and McPherson out, and McHenry (and Jones) waiting on concussion protocol, I don't really see what's left to bring in aside from Gibbs. Stengle? Gallucci? Wilson? Maybe give the Sholl kid a go off half back and move Milera further up the ground where his turnovers and lack of defensive ability don't matter so much.

What are you talking about? So far this season the kid has a disposal efficiency of 81% and has only turned the ball over 11 times in our four games. He averages 14 pressure acts a game (1 less than Lachlan Murphy) and is fourth in our team for one percenters...

A little bit, he'll probably be the same level as JJ as a ruck in the sense that it'll be "competitive" and not genuinely good.

This is where you have to laugh at the club.

The call on Gibbs was fine, but the fact they won't back it up really makes the process pointless.

The call really wasn't fine. It set the club up for failure by going for a midfield that was way too slow (especially with the addition of Poholke elsewhere).

The idea was fine, however, it was the wrong player. The execution left a lot to be desired in every facet.

Sorry that's a fair point, the idea was fine.

Himmelberg no good as a ruck at this time he been playing as support ruck for Hunter in the SANFL Hunter would be a better option than Himmelberg at this time and he not AFL ready, swapping any of those 2 for JJ would be a backwards move for the team.
But JJ in 3 games this year has changed the momentum of the game when swung into the middle so he gets another go. As much as some dislike him he going better than a few others,

We're not after a ruck. We're after a forward who can pretend they're capable of rucking.

With that Himmelberg is really the best replacement we have.

I believe will happen.
Otten for Hartigan
Greenwood for Poholke or Murphy or CEY
Stengle for Jones
That is all
I would Otten for Hartigan
Greenwood for C EY
Stengle for Jones
Gibbs for Murphy

Yes and Himmelberg not the answer, even as a forward at this time.
I would leave JJ in the side this week the crows have other players that need dropping before JJ one that can be replaced with IN form players from the SANFL.
Let's give our Forwards more opportunity to score, Let's get the ball to them quicker, making 1 on 1 instead of holding the ball up and waiting for double up,
Rather improve the ball into the 50 than blame the entire Forward line. How many Kicks to our forward go straight to the opposition chest, or to double up. lets fix that up.

There is in Eddie.

Of all the bad decisions we've made as a club in the last 18 months, this would be the cherry on top. Especially after he kicked 3 and looked very lively Saturday night.

JJ is in atrocious form right now, to the point that persisting with him has the potential of absolutely destroying him as a player. Himmelberg is not only the answer to that problem, he is the only answer.

I agree our midfield needs to be fixed, but take that set shot from 25m from JJ against North in the first quarter, if that doesn't tell you his confidence is completely shot, nothing will.

Best part is he stayed on the ground, and wasn't stupidly flying for marks.

No way you even consider dropping him. Much better options.

Fun Facts with Grotto.

In the past 19 games the Adelaide Football Club has only scored 100pts just twice. During that time they have only scored more than 16 goals just once.

The problems with our scoring ability has been going on for some time.
