The problem is, if and when we give him 'one more chance' against the Suns, and we play well, then he'll kick a bag like he does against minnows (7 against Carlton R23 2018), and it will prove absolutely nothing apart from saving him from an SANFL stint for another month.

Jenkins kicking a bag on the weekend will tell us nothing we don't already know.

I'm not sure some have seen the games so far this year. Any of our players kicking 7 against THIS GC would be impressive and therefore extremely unlikely. A win this week would be well won I feel.

then he is not fit enough to fill the role of a pressure forward who arguably has to cover more ground.

If fitness is an issue then it would be as the deepest KPF that he would play (which is what JJ has been doing)

If Otten and Fog come in for Hartigan and JJ then I can see those 2 swapping at either end at times depending on how they and the team are going
We will then get smashed in the centre when Otten 192 rucks against Wright 203cm who jump off the ground, more so with the 6-6-6 rules our mid to date have not been good enough to play against a dominant ruck.

He not good enough to replace one of the talls at this time, if they want to head back to our forward line of 2017 when we were kicking Goals and winning then we add the McGovern type Player, That gave a 3 prong Tall Forward Line with Lynch playing more running Flanker,
Our Smalls are not helping the ball being run out of defense and they are not scoring goals,
Play JJ Walker and Fograty with Stengle and Betts,

Have thought it thru, and it not perfect but better than some of the other option being branded about.
Yes our Mids and smalls will have to work harder but maybe that what we need. We need scoring options and ball movement, Changing the deck chair will not achieve that Therefor we need to change the structure.

JJ for Fogarty/Himmelberg is changing deck chairs and will not improve the Crows. In fact against the GC rucks could cost us.
Failing that we need to change how we are getting the ball into the 50 which still means Knight, Murthy either lifting their game and hitting targets not contests and scoring goals or playing SANFL.

But that only comes after we put some work into Ball movement out of defence, Otten for Hartigan, Gibbs For MacKay, Gallucci for Jones,
Stengle in for Murthy/Knight, Then we should look at changing the mix with an extra tall.

Oh and Greenwood in is a given, for either Pohokle or CEY, CEY stays if they Drop Knight

So yes I have thought it thru.
I'm not so sure that young Fogarty isn't "good enough" to have a crack at CHF or FF given the form of the two current incumbents Tex and JJ. Wouldn't need to do a hell of a lot to out perform those 2 currently.

Then this week the only player would be Walker, I would not want to go into the Game with an undersized backup ruck, not the way our mids have been defending the Centre.
We either change the deck chairs or do something different in the Forward, But that my last choice, first fix the ball movement, flood the forwards with some decent ball.

What he meant to say was..

Yeah I haven’t been playing good enough the last couple of weeks. I need to play better to really help the side win. I’ll do anything I can to get better, if that means a spell in the SANFL so be it, whatever it takes to get back to my best and help the team

Rather than it being about what he wants. It’s called leadership JJ
Just how did he get in the Leadership Group

Why, ROB is an endurance beast and Jarrod Witts is in great form and will beat whoever we put up against him so we're going to lose the ruck battle almost certainly anyhow?

If ruckwork is so important, then play two rucks and bring in Hunter.

what does that make us then?

Their four games have all been decided by less than a goal. They were a tiny bit of composure in Round One away from being the only undefeated team in the AFL.
And they are well organised, but can flick the switch for Chaos Ball.

Nah - just JJ getting on the front foot I reckon.

No need to axe me coach just so you can send a message. I’m hearing it loud and clear and I promise I’ll get better.
Quite possibly, but I think you're being a touch harsh on the guy.

He actually came out and was prepared to admit fault.

ROB has 85% and 80% TOG. the 2nd ruck role is so minimal, especially if you make a point of having him on for centre bounces (if he is due to go off when a goal is scored, wait til after the bounce, unless he has had barely any time off at all, when there's a goal scored prioritise getting him on

The quote that Faith posted is not correct.
The question was around what are the coaches saying to you JJ right now
Given JJ’s good history of goal kicking
JJ said he doesn’t want to go back playing SANFL
He wants to stay at the AFL Level to help turn things around

“ I was put into the leadership this year .. helping from the SANFL is going to feel difficult “

“There should be 12 guys who feel the same as I do.

“Because there’s a lot of us who aren’t playing good enough footy at the moment and if we do feel comfortable and we do think, ‘I just deserve a spot because of what I’ve done three or four years in the past’, then that’s fool’s gold.

“I’ve certainly been in that situation and sometimes it can be a great circuit breaker for you.

“Do I want to play SANFL this week? No.

“I want to play in the AFL and help turn things around because I was put into the leadership group this year so helping from the SANFL is going to feel difficult.

“But sometimes it can be great for individuals who are struggling to get away from the spotlight of AFL footy and try to resurrect things.”

Well you can start by getting into decent shape Josh Jenkins

You can try to turn things around by putting in a decent contest Josh Jenkins

You can try by putting in consistent effort Josh Jenkins

You can try by looking like you give a **** Josh Jenkins

You can start by letting actions speak over words Josh Jenkins

C'mon Ham Hands , lay off the KFC and Pre Mixers , drop 4-5 kilos and play like you are being paid 500K + per year

He’s definitely taken it upon himself to go into double secret cruise mode.

I think it was On the Couch on Monday, they showed Tom Lynch from Richmond, at a stage when Richmond were having trouble getting the ball beyond the centreline.

He took it upon himself to bust his arse and start working up around the wings, took a couple of strong marks, and opened play up again for his team.

Jenkins (and Walker, to a lesser extent) need to adopt this approach - if it is too hard and not working, the onus is on them to get involved and make it work - not spit the dummy and refuse to work harder.

I think after last week's terrible performance our coaches are going to swing the axe and make wholesale changes.

Expect two omissions of fringe players.

They’ve proven that we’re a performance based selection culture by dropping Gibbs. So when we don’t drop underperforming senior players you can be sure that it’s because they’re performing. After all, we did drop Gibbs.

Part of the problem is they ARE pushing up, sometimes too far.

This means that if we take the game on fast there is no one forward to transition the ball to. This means there is no incentive to move the ball fast and results in the slow movement we are seeing.
