1 senior player dropped. Couldn't leave Greenwood and Gibbs in the SANFL so needed a further two omissions. Luckily someone got injured and there was a young player to drop. Job done!

I mean he's clearly a midfielder/wing in the SANFL but that's the reality of the situation.

I'm torn on Murphy.

He made some shocking mistakes, but he was also one of the ONLY players we had who was actually trying to make shit happen.

Sure, it didn't come off for him, and he looked stupid, but at least he was having a red hot crack.

If he is a defender, as has been suggested, then I'd love to see us play him in the bloody role that he is suited to.

The problem is the mistakes he's making are fundemental things, especially against the Roos. Dropping easy marks, not being able to bounce the ball properly, simple things he's stuffing up.

Whilst I agree with the dropping of Jenkins, we’ve made our team even slower again which I didn’t think was possible. I don’t understand how we’re content with running first round talent such as Gallucci in the SANFL yet persist with Murphy in the AFL, mind blowing!

Getting him up to AFL fitness levels I would think, missed a fair chunk of training and we don't have access to his G.P.S. numbers....the fitness staff do. Gallucci will be no different to Greenwood in that regard, when he's ready he'll be an in, Greenwood's best SANFL game was by far and away his last game and he's straight in.

Why is DMac playing ahead of Galluci? Stengle would be miles better than murphy.
Sholl a better fit than kelly.
We have one of the worst games the club has ever had and we only get 2 unforced changes.

Because we have shit coaches and selectors.

The problem is Pyke locks players into roles during the preseason, especially with youngsters, which gives him the "team balance" excuse to fall back on. We could easily replace Mackay or Atkins with Gallucci and not lose much, but oh, Gallucci is a small forward and team balance won't allow that sort of change.

We seem unable to drop players out of the side indefinitely, or replace them with young blood.

I'm trying to think of a crows player who was in the 22 that has been dropped permanently to make way for a younger recruit in the last decade. (I'm sure there are some)

We give them one or two games a year when someone is injured, then straight back out again to keep players like McKay and Douglas in for "team balance"
