My dream team coaching inclusions next year. Bartel and Hodge. Out Campo and Hart for starters.

No, he’s average up there and is much better behind the ball but Dmac must play, so he gets sent to a role that he’s poor at. Hopefully he doesn’t play there.
Long term Milera is an attacking mid.

Yes we could leave him behind the ball for the rest of his career as he is good at it. This would be an easy option. But not the best for his personal development.

But his evasive skills are akin to Pendlebury and you dont waste that at HB. He is a natural mid.

Right now he is going through a learning phase in this new role.

And playing Mackay allows this to happen. Let's be honest Mackay is far from our worst player at the moment and not the reason why we are losing.

Geez I thought that was the whole reason we went for him after losing Cameron and McGov.

If he was capable of scoring goals at the level you'd think Richmond would've kept him
Richmond had plenty of smalls at the time. The others were able to rotate through the midfield though. Most rated him

I know I've said this before, a few times; but I reference Wigg - dominating the SANFL, and told he wouldn't be selected this season, but to keep up the good work.
As we've seen, it's quite hard to judge SANFL form, particularity as a midfielder.

But he should've played.

I’m a CEY fan
He offers difference
I do like CEY but I can see the reason geoffa posted as he did

To me CEY and Greenwood are very similar. CEY maybe more defensive minded but they are the big sized mid . I dont see any role forCEY in the Suns midfield that Greenwood (or Gibbs) cant do

I don’t mind him transitioning to midfield, I just don’t want him playing ahead of the ball.

I never get this.. The only thing that similar is their body types.

CEY fumbles, Greenwood doesn’t. CEY can’t tackle, Greenwood can. CEY pushes forward and has zero impact. Greenwood pushes forward and kicks goals. CEY is nothing but a fantastic SANFL player. Average at AFL.

That is correct. The bull that is meant to clear a path . I never made any other claims other than CEY being a defensive (tagging) option

Imagine being poholke. Picked for one game and then dropped. Probably doesn’t get another shot this year and delisted. What a ******* joke. I’m not saying he will be a gun/make it but for **** sake, play the kid for 3 games in his actual position and then make a ******* deduction. Jesus Christ

It's why we have a player like CEY in the side, who has been on the list for almost a decade, and we still only know that he might be AFL quality - but it changes from week to week. Selecting Poholke on the strength of his SANFL performances was absolutely the right move; picking him for one week, playing him out of position, and then dropping him, is an absolute joke.

Our selection theory is completed ****ed - the last month has demonstrated it perfectly;

Best 22 are pencilled in at the start of the year; the rest of the list is just gap fillers.

Pyke last week said selection was performance driven - but that's utter bullshit.

I've had concerns over the coaching panel for a while; but this is the week I have officially lost faith.

Unless there is a structural change in the approach to selection, development and team, then this coaching panel is a lame duck - they've lost it.

totally agree

Pyke believes in continuity and his side building a connection however FFS performance must be king

Our panel are also stubborn, we here how from Pyke about match committee will review what is the best mix for the opposition that we are playing however we never change our structure

We have been to tall up forward
Our forward pressure stinks
At times to tall down back
Our midfield can't spread

Its also criminal that we didnt address the ruck situation in the off season

If we lose this you'll see another 4-5 changes next week, and it'll be blood the kids time.

I think we'll win solely for betts, but for the long term good of the club I'm not sure a win is best.
In reality, if they go down that path, we are only a week away from doing it if we win.

So I in reality it wouldn't have any long term impact.

Hopefully with another pre-season under his belt Greenwood can maybe get 6, possibly even 7 minutes, of footy out of a game this year. Also Gold Coast have been inaccurate this year so Gibbs will really be able to rack up the possessions.
