Have to agree. I've held out hope for Weid for years but he is nowhere near AFL standard. He has no presence in marking contests around the ground and he has been in the AFL as long as Clarry has.

Didn’t watch too closely but thought Brown was ok? Still well off the pace but building slowly i think. 4 shots on goal, missed an absolute sitter, supply less than ideal as usual.
Fritsch had two less shots on goal, I barely noticed him. All our forwards were a bit rubbish really, mitch brown maybe the best of them.

As for Weid, played like the meat sack I expected him too. Did’t win a lot of hitouts but so what, he’s not a ruckman obviously.

His average over 7 weeks: 6.8 disposals (of which 1.7 (25%) are clangers), 1 goal, 3 marks, 0.4 goal assists.

I've copped a lot of flack for wanting Brown to be dropped for a long time now but these stats are damning. It's almost got to a point where Kade Chandler replaces him and we go all small, that's just how bad he is going.

Brown probably has til the end of the season when we address the tall forward role in the offseason. He'll be on a very short leash next season if this sort of form continues.

Id play him deep, out of the square. He needs faster ball movement and room to lead into just like Slick does however. Hes never been a contested marking type of player.

Yeah, I've been watching the u18 national championships, looking for key forward talent that no doubt we will be all over. There's a few playing for Vic Country today. I can't see us leaving the draft without picking up at least 2 key forwards hoping like crazy they develop into a starting 22 player.

A positive is the Geelong ruck stocks aren’t much chop, way worse than O’Brien at Adelaide. I don’t think it’s worth rushing Gawn or Jackson back if they’re not not ready or if it’s a close call.

Does Hibberd have the endurance to go with Cameron? Martin isn’t a good runner and isn’t remarkably quick either, just like Hibberd.

I’m not sure what to do about Cameron, but I don’t know Hibberd is the answer.

Maybe just let Cameron roam alone up the field to create an additional spare in the backline, perhaps May as the additional spare with Petty taking Hawkins. Then May picks up Cameron when he gets within 60 of goal?

Cameron can have 30 touches up on the wing and half back flank for all I care.

He is a little bit, we need a casboult type, someone who just competes in the air and plucks a couple but doesn't have to kick bags. We have a leading forward who we want to play like Naughton

In saying that he's 30, can't be being beaten in one on ones over and over again by kids. Atleast attack the ball in the air or stand your ground.

But actually Brown was horrible again imo. Right now he's playing like an 18 year old key forward. No strength at all and barely gets it to ground. Granted we don't hit him on the chest and get him multiple shots at goal but he really needs to do more in the air

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm going to agree with Danster and the power man and say it's time to drop BBB. It's obvious we are not going to play to his strengths, so why bother playing him?

Bring in JVR, let's see what he's got.

I reckon Pickett will get a fine at worst for his hit, but if he gets a suspension it would be Chandler in. Chandler was great in the VFL, clear BOG.

I'm not against giving JVR a go just to get his toes wet but I'm 90% certain he will do absolutely nothing if he comes in this year.

Frustrating as I can't even say it would send a good message to Brown or Weid as past experience has shown they would likely dominate in the VFL and come back to do nothing again.
