Definately need to play a Lonergan or a Jolley, after the last couple of weeks we need to keep pumping in the some fresh faces. Would like to see Lonergan get a game but there is still 12 weeks left I guess. For me:

OUT: Bolton, Bradley, Monfries, Peverill

Want to give props to Winders for the last few weeks, been trying his guts out

Camporeale hasnt played a full game in over 6 weeks, do we need to rush him straight back in? He will be underdone.

The bendigo players will be coming off only a 5 day break so I dont know if you want to be bring too many of the young guys in.

Hille should be banned from kicking at goal. hasn't kicked a goal as captain. What has happened to his kicking at goal, it used to be better?

Fundamental of football is, you keep your eye on the footy and commit yourself to win the ball when it is in your area.

Bolton failed to do that because he feared physical contact. He's a 100 game player, there is no excuses for that. We can't have young players thinking you can get away with not putting your body on the line.

Monfries, Slattery, Longergan, Jolley, Hocking, Winderlich....these kids never would have done that. They would have committed.

I'm sorry, but if you bring very little to the side in terms of skill, then you need to be hard at the footy. If you're not going to put your body on the line for your teammates, your club, your supporters, then you need to go back to Bendigo for a spell. Not acceptable.

I missed the incident I think, or either that I forgot it in the midst of the many poor patches of play by the Bombers...

I don't think Bolton is a good player, I'd be happy for him not to be on the Bomber's list. I don't want to defend the guy, but one thing he has done this season (and other seasons) is try his hardest... So it would be out of character for him to not try his hardest.

That said, perhaps he is due a break, he certainly didn't play well on friday night. But previous weeks he has been playing some of his best footy ever (not much I know, but good for him).

I wouldn't mind seeing him dropped, but at the same time he has been busting his guts in recent weeks, so I feel perhaps so slack could be granted.

Thought so, he has kicked 7.8 for the year. 46% isn't too bad for a ruckman but he has kicked 2.8 since being captain

Ben Jolley's form and conistency demands selection. Simply can't ignore a bloke that does his job every single week.

Exactly. Ben Jolley should be played in the seniors before anyone. Lee will replace the injured Kepler, Monfries could well be replaced by Reynolds, two newbies this week would be my choice.

Mark Bolton is not part of our future, he isn't good enough to be considered part of our future. But 10 games from Ben Jolley might give us a player of the future.

And there is no excuse for what he did, those kind of acts are part of the reason we are losing. We have lost games because at times this season blokes haven't had a big enough crack. Mark Bolton hasn't earnt the right now to have a crack.

agreed, thats how we should be viewing this year
not neccesarily the best matchup against the team we are playing
but introducing players that will be part of a future, where we are going to win

jolley, lee, nash, lonergan etc

must be played continously this year

EDIT: i just read that JOLLEY got 17 tackles and 5 sheperds!!!!! that is unbelievabe(yet true?) and you must reward such team oriented efforts like this along with his 24 disposals - if he doesn't get a game this week, after our side gets beaten by 138 points SHEEESH - i'll be starting to wonder wether selection comiteee and sheeds have the right idea

Do we have a best 22 at the moment?
The way I see it, we have about 9 blokes deserving of games each week. Fletcher, Lucas, Watson, NLM, McVeigh, Hille, Stanton, Heff. These are the only guys I can think of that have had a crack in every single game this season. Hird when fit.

The rest all have a point to prove for a number of reasons. Form, effort or because they are young kids finding their feet etc. Mark Bolton is one of these.

We don't have 22 best players.

What is the difference between Mark Bolton and a kid?
Mark Bolton has played 100 games, yet doesn't yet look like he belongs on a footy field. Sure, he might have a bigger body than a Ben Jolley but body strength isn't paramount to his game anyway.

Mark Bolton is 195cm's yet can't play Key Position. He has incredible fitness, yet can't play in the midfield. Yet we have a 196cm tall back at Bendigo an a young midfielder who gives his every, every week. If Bolton plays this week and Lee or Jolley doesn't, then yes he is holding a kid back.

Mark Bolton doesn't have a position, yet we have a couple of kids that given the opportunity, might just fill the positions Mark Bolton has failed to in 100 games.

I'm not sure anyone is really questioned Mark Bolton's courage. In the past, his most redeeming quality was that he always had a crack and always put his body on the line.

Yet in a game where our hardness and commitment was questioned, Bolts was a big offender. If you lack skills, smarts and a position and you then fail to go after the footy when it is there, surely that is drop worthy?

Especially when you have a kid like Sheller mentioned that had 24 disposals, a host of 1%ers and will give absolutely everything.

Mark Johnson played a much better game on Friday night, in fact he played a good game. He doesn't deserve to be dropped on that form, he has also earnt the right to be given the opportunity to rectify poor form in the seniors. Mark Bolton hasn't.

he is not part of that

jolley, lonergan, lee COULD BE, but they havent been given any oppurtunities in front of a guy in his 9th season, who has shown next to nothing...
