u dont consider losing Tippett as bad luck?

Losing him is worse luck for u guys. lol

Tippett has recently had a very unlucky bad run with concussion injuries for the past month. As a consequence, through no fault of Tippett's, he has been able to contribute just one goal in the past three weeks.

How exactly is the loss of a contribution of one goal in three weeks from the Crows forward line supposed to affect the Crows this week all that much?

Perhaps its time we gave Johnston a run as CHF? We have no idea if or when Tippett will be back and its probably ideal we groom a replacement. A string of three or four games would give us a gauge of whether he's capable.
Whilst good point I probably rather Lynch to come back into team as feel need another leading ball getter in forward area with Callinan -- Petrenko -- etc not picking up huge amounts of possesion up there and lets face it a good size body that competes and defends well and more importantly leads well up the field which should allow Tex to play ddeper

its a little thing called interrupting the chemistry of your team. In the same way, we will miss Scarlett. All the little things he does behind the ball and the work he puts in goes unnoticed. Give Tippett more credit than that. Fact is he is a 6.8 giant and would pluck most marks in a contested situation being the taller player. you wont have that luxury this week. other crows players will have to cover him now. it just slightly changes everything that happens on the park.
It's like pulling one of your teeth out and trying to munch on a sandwich.
It's just a little bit more awkward with 1 tooth missing. You can still chew it down, just not as efficently as you once could.
Yes it is only 1 player, but he could be the difference between winning and losing on saturday as i believe you will need
all your teeth to cause an upset down at fortress stadium!

It wont.

You have plenty of goal scoring options, so his absence won't upset your ability to kick goals.

The highest priority is for Tippett to get himself well and ensure there's no long term damage. I hear he's off to a neurosurgeon, so I sincerely hope he's given the all clear and he can continue playing on without fear.

So because i have an opinion on a team who i think we will comfortably, this makes me an ignorant flog does it?
Do you think everyone who tips against your team is an igornant flog?
If Cats win comfortably on saturday, am i still an igornant flog or not anymore?
See, i call you a muppet and i get a warning.
You call me an igornant flog more than once and you get nothing. lol
If the mods was fair, he would give you a warning too.
but of course he wont, he's a crows supporters. im a cats supporter
You are entitled to an opinion. But you dont go onto an opposition board talking crap saying how crap they are, dont deserve to be where they are and saying how your team will easily account for them when it is very untrue. That kind of stuff belongs on the bay...

i didnt say how "crap" you were.
I also didnt say you dont deserve to be where you are (although i do think this)
I believe Geelong are better than your team. simple as that.
And yes so what if i think geelong will easily account for your team on the weekend? Whats so wrong about that?
It's my IMO. im not insulting anyone at all.
If you get offended or have a problem by me saying i think cats will win easily, then you have some big issues.
It's my IMO. thats all.
Get over it

We hammered you at home. If you are better than us, you will hammer us by more at home. Sorted... Good luck with that...

Quick reminder from the Adelaide board rules for all. If I need to think about quoting them again this thread again I'll just jump straight to warnings/infractions.

Non-Adelaide Posters
* Opposition fans do not have the same right of reply as Adelaide fans. If you want to get even with an Adelaide fan, choose another board to do it (within BF guidelines).

Adelaide Posters.
* You do have the right of reply against opposition supporters, however if your response far outweighs what you are responding to, warnings or infractions may be handed out. Let's remember kids post here too.

Rules can be read in their entirety here:

How do you rate your chances on Saturday? Need some inside hints for my tipping!
I would have thought Crows had it in the bag, even though Cats played well on Friday. Amazed the odds aren't in your favour.

Personally I think we are a red hot chance and would take the juicy odds. I'd be surprised if we got flogged like some cats supporters here think

I think we are a good chance but it could go either way. Was quite surprised when I saw they were favourites given form and ladder position. Despite the game being at Simmonds...

Geelong are 2-6 against teams in the top half of the competition, and 8-0 against teams in the bottom half. Their two wins against decent sides were the admittedly excellent win against the Hawks and smashing what's left of Essendon on the weekend. St Kilda smashed Essendon the week before by even more, so I'm thinking these results say more about Essendon than Geelong or the Saints.

I would be very disappointed if we lose on the weekend.

Oh and about the "feral atmosphere" down at Geelong... I went to the Geelong v Port game a few weeks ago - place was like a library. I thought Crows crowds were quiet but this was embarrassing. Barely cheered when their team ran out on the field, or kicked a goal, I thought it was the acoustics because half the place was missing. But then they got pinged for deliberate and I could hear the booing, so no, they just have pathetic fans.

we will win this game and win comfortably.
i havent been impressed with geelong at all this year, while they had a good win friday night essendon were terrible and probably wont even make the 8.
we match up well on the cats, hawkins and pods/walker wont get a sniff with truck and talia on them. VB to do a number on SJ.
adelaide by 38 pts

Most of us Cats supporters (reasonable ones, that is) wonder that too, now the initial excitement from last weeks game has subsided a little.

There was some over-excitement amongst us in the immediate aftermath, because we finally saw our guys play (this year) like they've done over the last 5 years. It was the way they won the game that caused the excitement, not so much the win itself. We finally saw a suggestion that the Cats are able to bring their old form back to the field.

However, the more reasonable of us have tempered our excitement with the concession that Essendon are struggling with injury and form. Hence, the above question is a valid one.

Our next 5 (?) games are all against sides in the top 8, and they're going to answer to this question very clearly, starting this week. I think you'll find most Cat fans are nervous about this game, as it could shatter an illusion or be the start of something good.

Your guys have been playing exceptional football this year, and are clearly in better form than us. They'll also benefit from the ground / team knowledge of Sando and Milburn.....

I for one am looking forward to a great game, and wish you guys all the best for the remainder of the season.

Great post unlike Jwuzzy's delusional, overconfident, arrogant, insulting, trolling crud. Is he/she a Port Adelaide troll?

Should be a great game.

was wondering that myself. Probably not enough spelling errors though.

Firstly i'm hoping for a good game with no injuries to either side.

I've been really impressed with the Adelaide game plan and your toughness at the footy and particularly your ability to create from the spread with run and carry.

The forward line is functioning well within the structures (with or without Tippett) and every member of the side is playing their role with aplomb. I certainly thought Adelaides form early was an aberration but since keeping a close eye on your performances since, i've not only been proven wrong, but i've also been really impressed with how the side has gone about things, especially in contested situations.

Despite the fact the game is being played at Skilled, you have every right to enter the encounter with extreme confidence.

All the best people.:thumbsu:

PS: I'll have a preview written and posted on the Geelong board at some stage tomorrow evening for those interested.
