So many outs.. so few ins. Not a good week for the Crows selectors.
OUT: Tippett (inj)
IN: Walker
This one's easy.. a no-brainer even. I'm no expert, but 3 concussions in 5 weeks has to earn Tippett a spell on the sidelines for his own health & wellbeing, even if he thinks he should be playing. Sometimes the team has to rest a player for their own good.

OUT: Otten (inj)
IN: Lynch
The selectors don't seem to have been too keen on Thompson or Johnston, so Lynch looks likely to get a run. Fairly sure I read that Shaw's bleeding behind the eye was going to keep him out this week, otherwise he'd be an automatic selection in this place.

OUT: Symes
IN: ???
Symes is my whipping boy and I can't stand the idea that he's getting a game, while anyone other than Tambling is still playing in the SANFL (and that includes our rookie listed players). Surely someone is ready to take the place of this numpty?

Well looks like from Sandos statement in Tiser today it will be Thompson or Shaw replacing Otten who injury was extremely disappointing with all the good work done to get back into AFL.
He is held it high esteem down at South with his attitude and great team focus .
Again looks like Lynch is going to be over looked for that role but maybe come into replace Symes after another great SANFL game again .
Think he would be another great option as another bigger body and leading forward that can go down back if required .
Like Knights I also cannot see what Symes can possibly add to our team going forward.
But looks like Sando wants to look at as many players as possible then I would rather see Tambling tried sometime next few weeks . Least got some leg speed .

Out: Tippet, In: Walker (derrrr)
Out: Otton, In: Lynch (really want to see him as that floating defender, very smart good skills and speed)
Out: Symes, In: Ian Downsborough (anyone has to be better than Symes)

I just don't understand Tambling's banishment to outer Siberia. I thought he showed enough last year and was very poorly treated. By all accounts, hasn't been ripping up the SANFL mind you.
Statistically speaking he had a few up and downs earlier in the season but been reasonably consistent lately.
His last 5 games seem decent statistically. (take out the thumping from West and it looks even better)

23.6 touches at 85%, 3.4 tackles, 2.2 I50's, 5 R50's a game.

Also been in the bests 5 of their last 6 games (again the westies game being the one he missed)

Luke Jericho?

;)

I haven't seen anything from Lynch to show that he is better than the other options available. Honestly do not understand the bleating by some on here, quite odd given he is a one paced depth player at best.

He only gets a chance due to injury for mine, everyone else is better.

not sure on the depth player thing. Just a kid but clearly has some impressive attributes. Needs to find a spot in the team and give it a hell of a shake. Will do just that at some point IMO

I said good speed.

He is quicker then most other KPPs on our list. For a tall utility he has decent speed.

He is not a kpp though. In fact I'm not sure what the hell he is. He seems just a mark and kick player without much scope. He does not seem a contested ball player at all which maybe why he has not been considered defensively.

He seems to be smart, decent skills and finds space. I'm buggered if i can work out where he fits in if at all. I think he is actually quite unusual and does not seem to fit in a standard category so call him s utility I guess.

I would rather see L Thompson given a run

There's nothing wrong with his speed. He makes good leads.

As far as a third tall forward goes he has all the talls he needs. The problem is we don't want to play a third tall forward, we want to play a ruckman/forward.

Yep, these types of players (Lynch) and rucks have been most hurt by the sub rule

If we still had 4 on the bench, he'd be playing most games IMO

Interesting point. I still think there's room for someone with Lynchs' flexibility (can play forward or back) as a sub because it gives us options if injury occurs at either end. I put Hendo in the same boat, although rate him ahead of Lynch.

If anything having a sub helps Lynch given his versatility. Sando called him the perfect sub earlier in the year. So i don't think he would of played any more games. Porps keeping him out. I want to see him in defence at afl level.

In: Walker, Shaw
Out: Tippett, Otten

The less changes the better. Need some team stability in the run up to finals.

I have never see L Johnston play, but everything I read reminds me of L Jericho (great kick, no intensity, pretty boy). Can someone dispell this for me please?

I'd say he is nothing like Luke Jericho. Luke Jericho was barely a footballer... very awkward mover with straight line speed and pretty rubbish skills.

For mine I rate as follows:

Ticks
- Excellent one grab mark
- Excellent long range kick and accurate
- Good on the lead

Question Marks
- Not big for an AFL key position player so in 1 on 1 wrestle situations the jury is still out
- Defensive pressure / Off the ball work

Also earlier in the year he felt his best chance at AFL level would in a defensive post where he had his best form with the Swannies. LJ is the perfect example of why we need a reserves side. North Adelaide will never use him anywhere but Full Forward.

Tambling is in and there are rumors of another injured crow (as yet unconfirmed) - from @shutts10 on twitter
