Agree with above.

Unless Shaw is not fit and Lynch comes in for him.

Tonight will demonstrate whether we made a big mistake trading for Lynch. He has done everything that has been asked of him, both during the pre-season, his brief appearances for the Crows and his form at Glenelg.

When a spot opened up for a half forward flank Knights and Stiffy were preferred.

When a spot opened up for a key forward McKernan and Jenkins were preferred.

When a spot opened up for a third tall defender Otten was preferred.

If Lynchy doesn't get a game this week his only role is token Ranga.

Lynch out for tigers...

Shaw's eye injury, where he had bleeding within the eye, can be tricky depending on where the bleed occurred. He received blunt force trauma to the eye from the football hitting the eye.

He may have had a small hyphema;

He may have had a retinal or vitreous haemmorhage;

Or Subcontival haemorrhage;

Adelaide didn't specify exactly where his bleed was located but I suspect it was a hyphema which usually requires rest and light activity to reduce the risk of a rebleed and depending on how much blood there was, careful monitoring; checking of eye pressure, and possibly some drugs to reduce inflammation and possible rises in eye pressure (intraocular pressure).

I'm sure if he's named to play, his ophthalmologist would be conservative in his/her management. These injuries can be nasty.

Ian Shuttleworth saying key crow suffering a hamstring injury. Not mentioning the player. Nervous on this news.
Watched the replay again today and remember Jenkins clutching at his hammy after taking a mark in the last quarter. Obviously he played on so may be nothing. Hope it's not him.

If a key Crow is out with a hammy it will be the weakest team we've fielded for the year. Getting a win would be huge

Big chance that Rob Shirley may return against Essendon.

Kerridge, Lyons, Brown, Riley where the bloody hell are you?

Sanderson is picking guys he thinks may get a call up if we cop injuries in September.

He wants a squad of 30+ guys ready to go at a moment's notice. That is simply all there is to it.

It is a tactical manouevre heading into September. If we were 3-13, it would be a different story.

How about Sauce?

Lynch isn't competing with McKernan & Jenkins when they our 2nd ruckman... but yes, it seems he has been overlooked at times, when he has nothing wrong when given a chance.

This may be his week & no better chance to showcase his talents away against the Cats.

B: Luke Thompson, Ben Rutten, Michael Doughty
HB: Nathan van Berlo, Daniel Talia, Brent Reilly
C: Bernie Vince, Scott Thompson, David Mackay
HF: Jason Porplyzia, Josh Jenkins, Matt Wright
F: Richard Douglas, Taylor Walker, Ian Callinan
FOLL: Sam Jacobs, Patrick Dangerfield, Rory Sloane
INT: Graham Johncock, Jared Petrenko, Brodie Smith, Brad Symes
EMERG: Tom Lynch, Shaun McKernan, Richard Tambling
I
N: Taylor Walker, Luke Thompson
OUT: Kurt Tippett (concussion), Andy Otten (knee)

I feel sorry for Lynch, and I'm worried by how long Shaw may be out, but it's a wise move to give Thompson a shot at AFL level pre finals.

If Rutten or Talia go down, who replaced them in the best 22? Luke Thompson. Smart selection given it may be his last chance this year.

McKernan fit to play as well! I'm no fan but hopefully he can do well at South and get ready for any emergency call up.

Perhaps Lynchy needs to shave his head.

My point is, if Lynch isn't a tall forward, high half forward, crumbing forward, third tall in defence or medium/small defender what the bloody hell is he.

Do we draft like (some) women shop? I don't need it but it's cheap and it looks good so I have to have one.

looks like our run with minimal injuries is well and truly over. Good to test our depth though
It was always going to happen. Better now than in six weeks. Chance for guys who have been waiting patiently in the wings to step up:thumbsu:
