Happy to see Thompson in, hopefully plays a big game for us. I'll get to see what the doubters are saying about him now as I must admit I didn't pay much attention last year. Be good if he plays well because he is a fine size for a CHB and the best I can remember from last year was he did have some good speed for his size.

Adelaide didn't specify exactly where his bleed was located but I suspect it was a hyphema which usually requires rest and light activity to reduce the risk of a rebleed and depending on how much blood there was, careful monitoring; checking of eye pressure, and possibly some drugs to reduce inflammation and possible rises in eye pressure (intraocular pressure).

I'm sure if he's named to play, his ophthalmologist would be conservative in his/her management. These injuries can be nasty.

Cheers to the people with medical knowledge coming in here and providing info (there was another one somewhere else - concussions thread perhaps). Thanks for helping out :thumbsu:

Glad we get to see L.Thompson play. Would be a very handy back up incase the sh1t hits the fan come finlas with unexpected injuries. Hope he plays well.

Probably Craig based on SANFL experience
Donuts Craig hey?

Might as well get Kenny McGregor back in.

More seriously, do we have a spare KPP (i.e. not Walker, Rutten (too short anyway), Talia) who can jump a bit and add something around the ground? Come to think of it, it would prob need to be Luke Thompson at 196cm and great athleticism. Wouldn't be sacrificing Shaw's fragile body.

LT is more of a 3rd tall defender i'd say. for a KPP it'd be Lynch or Johnston

I will put my hand up and say I have always been a Luke Thompson fan (another WWT player, fancy that). He has developed beautifully since being picked up as a rookie. He is only 21 and has great pace for a 196 cm player. He is still learning the caper (like Brodie Smith) but you have to accept some pain as they accumulate the 50 odd games required to feel at home in the AFL (Talia has been amazing for a 25 game player).

Talia, Shaw, Thompson, Smith and Brown. The back six of the future.

Looking forward to the return of "Thompson to Thompson" calls from the commentators:thumbsu:

So good the 5 of them can cover 6 positions hey?
