If true this is a bad one. Agree must be absolutely conservative. In fact we should have been conservative with him after the port game. There was no need for him to play gws.

Think we may have dropped the ball on this one

tiser is reporting it now too

i found it very interesting that mckernan was an emergency last night, could explain why..

If true, something like this could be the making of McKernan, his ruckwork IMO is quite underrated on this board and given a full game in this position could really boost his belief that he does have the ability to play AFL.

Let's hope so.

Without rubbishing West he isn't in the top echelon of AFL rucks so it's a great opportunity. If he can do the job in the absence of Jacobs all credit to him. Let's just hope he wakes up properly for the game. Pass mark is winning hit-out differential, and no more than 2 stupid frees against maximum!

Also be good see what Jenkins can muster in the ruck against weaker opposition than previous weeks.

Structurally it will be fascinating against Essendon if McKernan can play well this week. Could we play with Jacobs, Jenkins and McKernan in the 22 (with McKernan to go once/if Tippett returns)?

Adel asst Mark Bickley confirms Jacobs is sore, but maintains he'll still play. All 3 emerg will travel to Geel.

NO! Don't risk it!!!

Tippett, Shaw, Otten...now is not the time to tempt the Footy Gods.

Depends....... If he is sore in his hammy then yes rest him, but if he is just generally sore from wear and tear play him. General soreness wont develop into anything worse.

Not unhappy with the changes overall. The two INs & OUTs were entirely predictable. Disappointed Symes was retained, but at least he'll be donning the green bib again - so his prospects for hospital passes and instant turnovers are minimised. Wonder why Lyons isn't getting a gig? His SANFL form has been fairly good, by all accounts.

Inconveniently came back from a foot injury just as Glenelg had two weeks off, due to the compromised draw for the Foxtel Cup. Had to play Reserves with Eagles and West Adelaide I think for those 2 weeks and played his first SANFL game since injury last weekend.

Agreed. McKernan's problem as a swing man is that he tends to lose touch and drift out of the game. Would be very interesting to see him play as a first ruck.

what about Martin?
Yep, there's another one.

It seems just as Hendo, Martin, Otten, Shaw all just established themselves in best 22...injury struck.

Look out Jenkins!

And if Thompson exceeds expectation this week he could also be in danger.

But in the end these guys are fringe, depth, icing on the cake types.

Unfortunately Jacobs and Tippett comprise 2 of our most important players.
