Latest injury report from Tuesday says that Sam Day, Brandon Starcevich and Brandon Ryan will be available for this game, not sure on Darcy Gardiner's availability.

Outs- Levi Ashcroft(managed), Dev Robertson(omitted), Darcy Fort(omitted).... Ty Gallop(concussion??)

Ins- Sam Day, Brandon Starcevich, Oscar McInerney, James Tunstill.

Might swap Tunstill for someone else eg Sam Marshall/Bruce Reville depending on form in the reserves today.

Play as well as we did for most of last night v the Crows with more composure and we should be winning this one.

Only change apart from those returning from injury would be Reville to the sub.I think he offers the flexibility to have an impact.

Hopefully Oscar for Fort and potentially Day for Gallop but wouldn't mind giving Gallop another week and Day to play VFL if fit and they don't have a bye

Assuming Starce will come back through the 2s to build fitness but when he's fit Levi to the sub and Fletcher back to the wing with Starce down back

Agree with all of that on 2nd thought particularly the Gallop/Day suggestion.

The reserves don't have the bye next weekend, play Giants on the Sunday at BHA.

Gallop was super impressive, to not get pushed around by Thilthorpe in the ruck just shows how competitive and strong the young lad is. I hope the coaches back him in for a few weeks. Starce straight back in if he's right, too good to play VFL imo. Alarm bells if Oscar is out again

I think we still saw last night that we were missing Day but giving him a week or 2 in the VFL to build form and match fitness wouldn't be the end of the world.

The thing is with moving fletcher out for starc is we will absolutely miss fletchers composure in defensive 50.. feels like we nearly have one too many players at the moment to fit in the team

Day over Gallop? Does Fagan push through the season getting games into Gallop before the finals or does Fagan carry Day through as the supposed structural centre piece of our forward set up?

I would prefer that the team take some risk, comparable to the Morris selection last season, and prepare Gallop.

We wanted someone who could compete as secondary ruck and we've found him.

Brandon Ryan kicked 3 goals, 3 behinds today in the VFL along with 12 disposals(all kicks), 6 marks, 2 tackles and a clearance.

Wonder if he would be considered if Ty is out with concussion and Sam Day is not ready. I'm not really a fan of Brandon but we need someone in that role who is not Hippy.

Speed is the key.
Gws exploit our lack of it...there half forwards (headgear guy) always damage us.
Brent Daniels will back also must be respected.
Bruce would be a good in for Dev.
Starc comes straight back.
If Day is fit he is in also imo

I like it although to my eye Bruce Reville looked well short of a gallop in the reserves today.

Dev is not quite an AFL player, neither is Tunstill. Bite the bullet and get games in to Marshall - he has shown he is.
i think tunstill has afl level traits. just unfortunately stuck behind too many here.

dev's disposal will always make him a limited player.

Morris had shown more in the VFL, did more in his first game despite having already run 12km that day and was in an easier situation compared to Ty (had Joe and Eric ahead of him).

Really think some people are getting a bit too optimistic about what a pick 40 key forward can do in their first season. His ruckwork was ok last night but it was telling that the crows came back into the game in the second quarter during his stint in the ruck.

Its fine to give him a couple of games but Day should play as soon as he is fit to do so.

No, I think we are past Brandon in my opinion.
I'd rather play Gardiner if Ty is unfit and Day is unavailable.

At this early stage.

Gallop was okay on debut but Gardiner in, as i doubt Day is ready.

Dev out someone in.
Dev has been given many chances over the years, and it is time for someone else.
Tunstill nearly in the same boat but his game against the Pies was quite good.
Reville, Marshall, Torrent, McKenna, McLachlan all options for a spot on field or as sub.
I doubt they rest Levi, so he plays again or sub

Day should definitely have a week in the 2s after a 5 week hammy imo. Can’t afford another one. Bring him in v cats and give Gallop another week.

Starce i would definitely play in the 2s. Let him pick and choose his contests a bit. Would be terrifying coming back. Agree the initial change would be Fletch to wing and Levi sub. I hope we actually rotate subs though. Don’t have it a punishment or 23rd player, use it to give players a freshen up

Agree Bruce deserves another go at sub. Don’t think i’d have any other changes but very wary of giants’ run. Theoretically i like the idea of Marshall but not sure who i’d drop.

Where is Doedee at? Seems to be managed a lot? Round 13 and seemingly nowhere near it, and Kiddy at least 5 weeks away.

Logan didn’t have to ruck half of his on field time though. I think Ty deserves another go. His speed will be handy against the Giants.

Yeah totally fair - but if Ty is in the team he either needs to ruck or Eric has to do it which has hurt his form badly.

Again, it’s not a criticism of him - he’s a young player. I just think our best team pretty clearly has Day in it.

Morris best VFL game was the game after he got dropped. The value in getting exposure at AFL level is priceless for development. Glad Ty got a game and he can go back and continue to work on his craft. Day straight back in. Experienced enough to be fine to do so. Wouldn't be against Ryan as ruck/forward either. So long as we keep Hippy in his CHF role.
