Only 2 changes???
OUT- Cox , Hutchings ( Coxy wont be playing another game even if we make it)
IN - Nic Nat , Yeo?????
Ellis is apparantly still sore & cant risk underdone players.
Selwood needs 1 more week of hard running .
IF we win & the stars align I would prefer Ellis TBH.
Don't see that Carter adds much ATM based on Saturday's game.

My crack at the matchups if they play the same 22 and all our players are fit:

FB Bennell McGovern Brown
FF Matera Day Martin

HB Hurn Mackenzie Butler
HF Rischitelli Lynch Sexton

C Yeo Priddis Gaff
C Bennell O'Meara Swallow

HF Hill Darling LeCras
HB McKenzie Tape Harbrow

FF Lycett Kennedy Cripps
FB Cameron Thompson Kolodjashnij

R Naitanui Selwood Shuey
R Leslie Prestia Stanley

I Schofield Masten Ellis
I Lemmens Lonergan Shaw
S McGinnity
S Summer

E Cox Sheed Tunbridge

I would play Sheed instead of McGinnity as the sub personally. He has shown, especially in the last month that he can have a good effect as the sub. Could of had 2 goals against Adelaide in a quarter of play if he had kicked a bit straighter.

Fair enough. I think McGinnity has also shown a bit, and could come on and provide some manic pressure.

I doubt that all three of Yeo/Selwood/Ellis will play so I think McGinnity will keep his spot in the 21 and Sheed may be sub.

Why is everyone suggesting Yeo should be the sub?

He broke his hand FFS, he's been running this entire time so his fitness isn't an issue. He's a great player and potential lethal midfield weapon.

Also, Cripps in over Hill by a country mile. Cripps has played IMO his best month of football with the club. Hills been reasonable, that's it.

Suma Magic - without being privy to the fitness levels and match readiness of Yeo or Selwood I would probably go with one of those as they transition back into AFL. Having said that Selwood can also do a lock down role so ........................ ?

I reckon both would get more benefit from half an AFL game than a full WAFL game. But then I am an armchair selector and don't have to put my family jewels on the line with team selections.

I think that at least one of Yeo/Ellis/Selwood will miss and McGinnity will stay in the 21 - which is fair enough IMO.

Yeah ok if you see it that way , Hilly has been really made to earn his spot this year and I can see he's putting effort in to chase and tackle .What Simmo likes is his clean hands and foot skills when he has the ball .
I wanted him in the squad the first half of the year but I haven't been that impressed since hes come back. The games ive seen him play live he just doesn't do enough. When he gets in the play hes pretty good for spurts with his marking/kicking a highlight but I still think a Masten/Colledge would be better on the Half forward.

8 games this year, 6 goals, 11 disposals. Hes been made to work on his tackling/pressure etc but he still only gets 2 or 3 tackles a game same as last 2 years. I think when we are playing well and up and running he benefits, like a few players in the team he needs to be able to impact a little bit more rather than just complement. At the minute I would still be tempted to play a midfielder on HF

I'm inclined to give Ellis another week. My ideal changes are Hutchings, Carter, Cox out and Selwood, Yeo, NN in.

But I just can't see Cox being dropped. Surely if he wasn't going to be picked for round 23 the club would have told him and he would have been given a grand send off against the Dees? I know there was a bit of fanfare about him after the game, but there was no chairing off the ground etc.

You're kidding. Cripps is in far better form.

I actually think both have been ok recently but if I had to choose one I would pick Hill every day of the week. Ability over hard worker every time. Hill has more ability than Cripps could possibly dream of having. Everyone says Hill does not work hard enough and to be fair it is probably true, yet his output is still as good or better than Cripps even then.
Each to their own of course, but Hill by panels for me.

Fair assumption, but I would love nothing more for the boys to come out this week and prove everybody wrong.
Yeah I saw that. It's hard to mount an argument against him.

He was chaired off by Emac and JK.

- I think we will wait till next week to play Ellis if we make it. I think 4 changes is a bit much to a team that had a good win.
- Nic Nat should come in fresh and play alongside Lycett while Cox sits this out to be the ruck coach for the trip.
- Cripps over Hill any day of the week if i had to chose. Cripps has been awesome over the last 4-5 weeks and has been hitting the score board while also playing stints in the midfield. Hill, Lecra & Cripps can all fit in the forward line as all 3 have been playing higher up the ground so i don't see it as a problem having all 3.

Which moments, except for the Essendon loss, have any relation to this weekend's match?

We have given up leads throughout the season, but they aren't the same as "this moment"

Having a rethink

Out: Hutchings (hammy), Cox (retired/rested), Carter (unlucky)
In: Naitanui, Yeo, Ellis

B: Schofield, MacKenzie, Brown
HB: Hurn, McGovern, Butler
C: Gaff, Priddis, Yeo
HF: LeCras, Darling, Ellis
F: Lycett, Kennedy, Cripps
R: Naitanui, Shuey, Masten
I: Bennell, Sheed, McGinnity
S: Hill
E: Sinclair, Brennan, Carter

Bring Yeo and Ellis back in if they're ready. Selwood might need to come back through East Perth given he's been out so long and won't have been able to run for most of that time.

Gerard speaks the truth. It's undeniable.
