Don't like the idea of our mids hiding behind Jackson's centre ground clearance ability. We need to find out what we really have and make some hard calls if necessary. When our midfield fails, it gets completly wiped ( Non competitive almost) It shouldn't be accepted and hidden behind a ruckman doing all the hard work for them. Bradshaw said it all when he said he prefers being on the outside.

I think the Dogs figured out they could shut down a lot of our switch play, where we control the ball, by keeping a close check on Sharp. He didn't have any space today.
Isn’t he a running machine? Creat space, run your opponent off their legs. You just had a week off FFS

there were a lot of soft efforts, hence the final score

Sharp with 4 possessions, even Serong and Yong were turning it over, Treacy missed goals, Switta was missing, Frederick was out of sorts - they were all shit

at least Sturt and Banfield kicked 3 goals each
Wow. Sharp was quiet at the game.

Completely agree. Midfield pieces look good on paper but go to water too often.

Johnson, Brodie, Erasmus we probably need one or two to be good enough to crack the middle and stay there.

Darcy is off as well, whether due to fitness or injury or whatever.

For mine it’s

Wagner in , JOM out
Davies in, Draper out
Brodie in, Fyfe out
Simpson / delean in, Walters out

Worner to sub

With JOM out and Worner as sub you can move Aish around as cover if an injury to a mid/forward occurs.

Brodie in for Fyfe is controversial so we’ll never see it happen

I’ve been wanting Davies exposed at AFL for a while, doubt it happens this week, nice to dream ….

Is Delean a sneaky chance for debut ??

For all those people wanting Simpson in surely he needs to perform at WAFL level first. He had 10 possessions yesterday for 1 point and has hardly been tearing up the WAFL. He needs to earn his way in and not just be gifted games.
He is tackling heaps and putting on defensive efforts - goals will come for him; he has pace, step and good ball user

Look I agree…kinda.

But Simpson looks to
Me to be one that can step up a level. And while we have Walters, Aish, Fyfe and O’Meara largely cruising around on reputation, I think about how Simpson energised us with a few touches in his first game and I want some
More of that ASAP.

Fyfe is one that really needs to be looked at. Brodie should get a few games, but if they won’t drop Fyfe then look at Aish. Wagner and Chapman can cover that role.
If not O’Meara goes. We need some more pep midfield, and some line breaking run

OUT
Walters
Fyfe
Worner
Draper

In
Brodie
Simpson
Chapman
Wagner

Send Fyfe to peel & get him kicking the footy Can't keep picking him to handball

I didn't see the second half but Fyfe turned the midfield around when he came on the ground in the first. Jaeger was also best on early. Neither sound like they did anything in the second half. Serong and Brayshaw and to a lesser extent Young need to be held accountable as well.

Until we find a replacement for Fyfe and the current role he is playing, which appears to be more the enforcer and putting blocks on so the likes of Serong and brayshaw can rack up the possessions he shouldn't be dropped.

Serong although racks up those possessions needs to be more damaging with them.

MJ maybe later able full that role but not quite yet. We saw glimpses of what happens , especially last year when there was noone to fill that role, our mids were getting bullied. Also, glimpses this year, where Fyfe started on the bench in the demons and yesterday. They were smashed in the middle and couldn't get their hands on it. Maybe at the very least we need that presence at the start as once the Oppo gets that early run on, it sets the tone

Brodie, although has similar attributes to Fyfe in being the bigger body , slow and lacks defensive is a good extractor but not really one that blocks. If we are playing for this year, not sure but would like to try Brodie in for MJ. Not sure we ever had that combo of Fyfe, Brodie, young. It could be disastrous but I think we need to, especially with oppos like this win it from the clearances to give supply to our fwds and reduce pressure on the backs

Brodie could play that role. Maybe Fyfe could play sub. Time Serong and Brayshaw took some responsibility for their limitations. They have had long enough.

Lol no. Not sub. I want to see Fyfe, Brodie, young, Serong, in there at same time

I know it maybe disastrous but having an extractor, enforcer, defensive and outside mid may work, but yes aware also fall flat.

I just still find this so bizzare given how 2022 played out.

I agree the coaches have stamped his papers but this whole thing he doesn't do anything with the ball and can't defend, I mean if he was so shit and such a negative did we all imagine 2022 and him being a key part of a really good midfield.
Yes. Brodie and Blake acres tearing us up the ladder was all in your imagination 😂

I wouldn't mind trying that. Brayshaw should be considered as wing or go back to hhf. We need a bit more defensive/hard run and speed on the outside

Problem with this midfield mix is against alot of teams they will dominate still. However, against few others like pies, port, swans and now dogs they will be found wanting

I really don’t get why we are playing Draper Luke Ryan was all Australian playing as a tall defender is he so desperate to get easy touches he doesn’t want to defend anymore?

Feel like our problem atm is the senior players besides AP go at 60% and it’s really noticeable in blokes like Fyfe, Ryan, walters and JOM probs missing a few others too

is JL to stubborn to give Brodie a shot or are we as fans just attracted to his numbers?

Me personally would go

Outs
Fyfe
Walters
Draper
JOM

Ins
Voss
Brodie
Chappy
Wagner

Play the 4 key tall fwds but let Jackson play in the midfield as a 5th midfielder
Brodie plays fyfes role
Ryan plays drapers role and Chappy plays Ryan’s role
Wagner takes mjs role as sub and Mj wing

Don’t get the calls for Voss, pressure was so bad yesterday, another tall won’t help that
