I have no info - just wondering if Schultz is really injured or that's the end of sarge at port and its a pre-freo "injury"? Hope its the former.

For what it's worth keep lobbe forward. Convinced Ryder is our #1 ruck. Lobbe needs to be a useful forward presence.

Listening to Nicksy, it sounds like a genuine injury, he said that Jay had wanted to play, didn't want to let the team down, but the doctor and the coaches felt it would be bad for him in the longer term.

With Schulz being one of two forced changes, I am glad to see Lobbe come in to give Paddy an extended break in the forward line. You can see the logic being used, it's the same as when Ken brought in O'Shea and Jonas. Their SANFL form wasn't demanding a return but when they are playing well they are in our best 22. Same with Lobbe, he generally will be best 22. Neade played a good game last week but his omission is one of the forced ones. Mitchell was probably a bit unlucky but he has not shown himself to be more than a good sub player and that is going next year. I hope that this is not a subterfuge to qualify him for SANFL finals although I'll certainly be glad to see him there.

Would've thought Redden was a more viable option IF Lobbe is being brought in for the loss of height in the forward line in Schulz.
Why bring in a player who is injury prone into a dead rubber this late in the year? Very little to gain really. Best let him play out at the Magpies or even better just send him for a early preseason i guess.

Can Neade and Mitchell qualify for SANFL finals?

I'd like to hope Young will get a full game and Amon be the sub but I think Young is in to replace Mitchell and Amon to replace Neade.

Not sure why you'd drop Neade personally, kid needs games and I love what he does up forward. I also still undecided on the out of form Amon so seems strange to me.
No. Neade hasn't played a game after 30th June in the SANFL.

Why bring a first 22 player back in a dead rubber?

Nup Ken puts his player welfare first.
Our five underdone players round 1, Jared Polec, Matt White playing many games hobbled, Carlile rushed back from his first injury barely able to bend down, Schulz needing a rest for weeks says differently. Our player welfare has been shit this year.
