In: Barrass, LeCras, Sheed, Mellen
Out: Ah Chee, Ainsworth, McInnes, Ryan

B: Sheppard, Schofield, Hurn
HB: Duggan, Barrass, Cole
C: Gaff, Shuey, Masten
HF: Cripps, Mellen, Waterman
F: LeCras, McGovern, Lycett
R: Naitanui, Yeo, Redden
I: Jetta, Rioli, Hutchings, Sheed
E: Ah Chee, Ainsworth, McInnes, Ryan

Assuming Barrass and LeCras are available. If LeCras isn't then Ryan survives, but he's been nowhere near the player we saw in the first three weeks.

If we're going to play Gov forward then he'll attract the number 1 defender, get some games into Mellen (or Brander, either's fine) as the second tall forward rather than persist with McInnes.

Barrass back releases Yeo to the midfield, thank Jebus. If TB isn't available then I don't know what the hell we do.

Ah Chee and Ainsworth a little unlucky but we need Yeo and Sheed in to bolster the midfield.

Based solely on Vardy’s game for East Perth today is there a chance we give Naitanui a spell next week? McInnes comes out too. Lycett to lead the ruck against Dawson Simpson with Vardy to provide a chop out when not playing KPF?

Was at the game tonight, and here are changes that need be made:

Outs:

-Liam Ryan: he needs to go out. Asap. Has zero defensive pressure. Refuses to do the tough stuff and is too busy trying to take mark and goal of the year every week without doing any of the hard things. Simpson needs to send him back to the WAFL until he decides to put on some real defensive pressure.

Jetta: another game, another week where he spends the bulk of the game going half assed and looking like he couldn't give a shit.

Masten: the guy means well, but when you see him live you see a lot of arm waving, a lot of running, and stuff all else. This is nothing new, offers some run and bugger all else. Zero tackles says it all.

Mcinness: has the physical tools, but not the ability to make it at AFL level.

*Nic Nat: pains me to say this, but for another week he was absolutely useless. Seriously, seeing him live, he is either legitimately one of the most unfit guys at AFL level, or our sports science team are taking the piss taking him to the bench every 5 minutes. He isn't running hard at all in those 5 minutes he is on either, he will do a couple of taps, admire his work, and then off to the bench again. We all know how good he is, but legitimately, he looks entirely unfit. Might actually need a spell (or a rocket)

Not sure which of our injured players can actually come back in however McInnes has to go. Replace him with Brander or Vardy if we want someone more experienced.

Ah Choo was terrible; I'd bring Sheed back in. Also look at Venables or Parto for Ainsworth who still looks raw.
Ah Chee looked timid. Did anyone else see this?

OUT: Jetta, Ryan
IN: Nelson, Sheed

Jetta is giving us nothing. He is cooked. Nelson is a good runner and at least likes the contest and to tackle. Ryan will be fine after a stint in the WAFL. Sheed will give us way more.

Agree with all except Ryan.

Agree with all except Ryan.

Believe me, watching the game live at the ground, Ryan would be my first to go after tonight.

He wants all of the glory, but absolutely refuses to offer anything defensive in the forward 50. In the last 2 weeks he has been torched by his opponent rebounding out defense and has laid a grand total of 1 tackle in the past fortnight.

Yeah, I thought so too. I wasn't that impressed. Which doesn't mean I want to drop him immediately, but he has put himself in the firing line.
I don't know his character, but I'd like to think he could bounce back after some good feedback in the post game analysis.
We're not exactly blessed with a stack of players with superb WAFL form demanding inclusion, so we are unable to drop everyone who might deserve to be dropped.

Yeh we cant carry him when he only spends 60% TOG AND HAS **** all influence.

Hoping Barrass is back?

In: Barrass, Brander
Out: Schofield, McInnes

Sheed seemed to have played well but who for? Redden shouldn’t be dropped for one poor game, Hutch was good early then fine, Ainsworth deserved to go again after that. Weird selection week coming up.

Nic has cracked the shits ever since some of his team mates ragged him for being a terrible story teller.

Least amount of total game time %:

McInnes 60%
Ainsworth 66%
Natanui 68%

Thing is, having been at the game tonight, at least Mciness and Ainsworth ran relatively hard, and put in some work when they were on. And when they came to the bench, actually look a little spent.

With Nic Nat, he looked fresh when he came off.......because he should have been. He would contest a couple of ruck contests, admire his handy work for a bit, then back to the bench. He was not at all working hard when he was on the ground. In fact his work around the ground was limited (to put it mildly)

And that really hurts me to say, because we all know full well how good Nic Nat can be. But straight up, he looks legitimately unfit. If a guy at this level cant run (or in this case, jog) around for 5 minutes without apparently needing a spell, we have a problem.

Don’t think Anus deserves to go out. Why bring him in for one game at a time? Do you expect a first year mid to get 25 touches in his first game?

Of course not, so why bring him in in the first place if that’s what you want? Anus would have gotten roughly the same output as Sheed if he played in the WAFL today, so it seems silly to swap them based on that. I suspect you will get similar stats from Anus as you would Sheed if you give him a solid run of games.

I can see us shuffling the midfield depth deck chairs for the next few years as Sheed, Anus, Hutchings and Ah Chee struggle to really cement a spot. Ideally we’d be able to put the selection blowtorch on Redden as well, but I guess he’s an autoselection now that Priddis is gone.

Agreed. It would be nice to get some clarity from the club on whether he is fully fit.
