What's the status on Kennedy, Darling and LeCras? Without them back I'd say...

OUT: Ryan, McInness, Waterman (rest)
IN: Sheed, Barrass, Partington

Agree with the above comments re: Ryan's defensive pressure. Rioli's pressure is much better than Ryan's. I'd like to see Rioli up around the ball more.

On Ryan, I think he needs a break. He came straight back into the side but perhaps he needs to go back to the WAFL to realise he needs to give more at senior level. He offered really, really little today.

I really wish one of either Petrol or Venners were pushing for selection but their stats don't seem to indicate this.

-Jetta can't/refuses to tackle and has been pretty shite for a few games now, should definitely be getting on thin ice

-Thought Masten and Ainsworth played alright, not sure about bringing Sheed in yet...

-Rioli/Ryan/McInness/Ah chee will all face pressure once JK/jd/lecras and Venables are fit.

-I think Petrucelle showed enough in his first couple of games to come back into the side...apply some forward half pressure

Think we need to let Fraser go...doesn't offer anything more than a Brander/MAllen type. Give the younger guys some more exposure.

Sheed should come back, but not sure who comes out. Possibly Ainsworth?

Gonna be another tough game to watch. And we get to wait all weekend for it. :drunk:

I thought there was a reason for mcinness.

There isn’t anymore. He is a ruckman and should be deployed only in that position.

Play petrucelle or venables and tell Nic Nat he will be more forward and will be relied upon to crash packs. No excuses.

We really need sheed to hold down a spot. He is what we need when he is on. But unfortunately he hasn’t been good enough regularly.

In: Barrass (if fit), LeCras (if fit), Nelson
Out: McInnes, Ah Chee (unlucky), Jetta
Otherwise
In: M Allen, Nelson
Out: McInnes, Jetta
Don't think Nelson is as bad as lot of ppl think he is, he works hard imo and offers more than Jetta defensively. If Jetta stays in, I'd prefer him to play further up the ground. Don't mind Brander instead of Allen, but Allen offers more with his larger frame. Also he deserves at least one chance to show what he can do at AFL level.

Ins, Barrass (if fit), Vardy to play FF, Sheed (is a starting 18 player).

Out, Schofield, Mcinness, Ainsworth or Hutchings (don't really care if he played well, he's vanilla)

Brave in the first 2.5 quarters but not good. Better than Crows for that time but that was a low bar.

Been raised by a few that NicNat is so far off competing that the alarm bells are going off. Agree. He got embarrassed by Jacobs and at time he gave the Crows mids silver service. Not usually keen on being that drastic but I’d bring in Vardy to play power forward with a ruck chop out and Lycett to be given the chance to shine.

McInnes is rubbish and his skills were well demonstrated with his 2 right foot kicks. I would rather be using the next 2 weeks developing Bander or MAllen so we can prepare McInnes for life after AFL.

Jetta had played tentative football for a month and needs a rocket.

Agree that Ryan needs to go back and deliver the non negotiable defensive work.

Changes:
- Vardy for NicNat
- MAllen or Brander for McInnes
- Petrucelle for Ryan
- Nelson for Jetta

Assuming above that Barrass et al are not available.

I would rather go down learning and setting standards than to turn up with what has been played since 3/4 time v St Blunders.

We have to be careful on how many corralling types we have in the team. Hutchings, Masten, Jetta and Sheed (to a lesser degree) play that way and I’m thinking max of 2 in at any one time. GWS and Collingwood mids will have a field day if we do not address it at selection.

1. Change from playing 3 quarters to a 4 quarters hard contested football.
We dont have to win pretty; winning ugly is also enjoyable.
2. Vardy had 57 hit outs 2 goals and 6 marks and should be in for the GWS game. Who is out?: everybody knows

I remember seeing that recent video on the WCE website, where Gavin Bell was saying that McInnes was getting frustrated at the lack of opportunity. Maybe now he will realise that he's not up to it and he is very lucky to be there. McGinnity in the WAFL would have had a greater impact.

How Jetta is still in the team just shocks me seeing him live yesterday at the game he is an absolute joke so lazy..

From what Simpson said in his press conference it is a slim chance of any coming back next week. Therefore we have to go back to doing what we were doing 5 weeks ago and just try and manufacture a forward line.

Gov is a Backman and must play back.
Yeo has done his best work this year as a mid and must play as a mid.
These two cannot be shuffled around as they are critical to our ball movement and our structure.

Vardy in for Mcinnes, he is not going to kick a bag of goals probably but he can structure up better at FF, create more contests and take a mark.
Nelson in for Jetta, well anyone can perform at Jetta level so it matters not but Nelson will compete although he lacks polish.
Sheed in for Ryan simply for more contests and can rotate through midfield.

Rockets given to Naitanui and Rioli, if Nic is not fit then he shouldn’t be playing so therefor he is fit and not performing, my take is Nic has taken it to heart some negative feedback he has received lately about his marking and toughness. Really good ruckman take marks and he has never done that and I reckon it worries him a bit he is being left behind a little. Nic just needs to stand up and do what he does well which is a physical presence and his tap work, both non existent the last two weeks. No excuses big boy as when you run out to play you are deemed fit.
Rioli just does not find enough of the ball to use his ability, and again if this is fitnessed based then he should not be in the side. So it is laziness and he needs to pull his finger out or also make way for stronger effort players.

Bottom line is kicking goals will continue to be our issue while our forward line is out.

My side

Cole - Schofield - Shep
Duggan - Gov - Hurn
Masten - Yeo - Gaff
Ah Chee - Waterman - Sheed
Cripps - Vardy - Rioli

NN - Shuey - Redden

Lycett - Nelson - Hutchings - Ainsworth

Ah Chee could be a player but I don't think he will be. Seems to be overly confident yet doesn't justify it. He's angry at the world for not persisting with him like other younger players; Wines, Polec, Wingard. Yet what Ah Chee doesn't seem to understand is; his potential ceiling is far lower. While he may be able to outperform a first gamer, clubs won't persist with him. If Ah Chee doesn't start clunking marks and providing solid drive this season, I see him just clogging the list similar to what Jetta has done for a few years now.
