Venables is not in good enough form to replace Ryan. On form I would think Vardy for McInnes and Sheed for Ainsworth. I expect that will be the changes. Given that GWS dominated Hawks midfield I ain't expecting our misfiring midfield to beat them. Inconsistency across the games in the last 4 rounds doesn't really inspire me with confidence.

I thought Ainsworth did really well in the first half. Don’t know how much time he spent on the bench in the second half, didn’t see him in the action as much. Would like him to stay in this week though.

If Vardy is fit he needs to come in for McIness. Would rather Nelson than Jetta.

In Vardy
Out McInnes

I thought Ainsworth was good from his relatively limited possessions. I will be interested to see his TOG.

Sheed has probably served his time in the WAFL.

How is Watson going in the WAFL?

If Matt Allen gets a go instead of Vardy, I would be kinda ok with it. Has been in the system 3 years now so should be more ready than Brander.

Ainsworth and Fraser had the least amount of time on ground and Ainsworth had 12 possessions vs 15 against GWS. Ryan had limited minutes too. Watson has been pretty meh in the WAFL Vardy got 2 goals and 57 hit outs I think he is ready to go. Screenshot_20180701-112434_AFL.jpg

The important thing is we sort out our KPP because its killing our structure. Whether its Barrass back in or putting Vardy up front now he is fit. Yeo needs to stay in the middle no matter what happens.
I don't think you can drop Rioli or Ryan, unfortunately WC need to play them into form. They are first year AFL players, don't expect them to be Stevie J's/Eddie Bett's after half a season. Ryan's missed 6 weeks with a broken ankle and he's still kicking goals, give the kid a break (pun intended). Rioli's pressure is outstanding. Gov's 1.2Mil over 6 became about 800k over 4 last night which is what he's worth.

Vardy will replace Mcinnes. Sheed will replace Ah Chee. Naitanui had 1 off game... He's only human.
Nah - Sheed to replace Ainsworth as s the way to go IMO.

Out mcinnes ainswoth jetta ryan

In brander sheed nelson petracelle
Brander is not ready - he needs time to build up. Probably better bringing in Allen as he's been in the system for 3 years now. What a shame Petrie is not still on our list - he would have been ideal to fill in while JK & Darls are still out. Vardy when fit to play will be a welcome "in".

Ah Chee could be a player but I don't think he will be. Seems to be overly confident yet doesn't justify it. He's angry at the world for not persisting with him like other younger players; Wines, Polec, Wingard. Yet what Ah Chee doesn't seem to understand is; his potential ceiling is far lower. While he may be able to outperform a first gamer, clubs won't persist with him. If Ah Chee doesn't start clunking marks and providing solid drive this season, I see him just clogging the list similar to what Jetta has done for a few years now.
Perhaps he needs an extended stint at AFL level - as coming in after being out injured, then dropped for another coulée if weeks, then brought back in again does not seem ideal for any continuity. Not sure what the real answer is but is he being correctly managed?

I would bring Vardy in as he can take a grab , can kick a goal and also do some forward ruck work, he will at least draw a decent KPD and he certainly offers more to the side than McInnes.

Oh and Jetta has to go he sets a bad example and quite frankly at times looks like he doesn't give a shit.
His attitude and production this last month has been bitterly disappointing.
If players don't put in and look pedestrian and just spectate while on the ground then its time to **** them off.

If Lecras and Barass aren't fit then just:

In: Vardy, Partington**
Out: McInnes, Jetta

Rest a midfielder foward (to accomodate lower TOG from Ainsworth/Parto/NN), play McGov in HB, Yeo in midfield.

**Yes it's kinda garbage. But the only players I want to see are people who are tackling in WAFL, or KPPs in form. Asides from our growing injury list in Lecras, Barass, JK, Darling, et al. that all select themselves when fit atm. Not saying Parto is B22, but he is in form in WAFL compared to others, and we might as well get a looksee at a year's change in conditioning at some point. Sheed gets selected when he tackles at WAFL level (unless for some reason he is being instructed not to?). I would've said Nelson over Parto + Sheed if he performed for EP, but it doesn't look like he did. Think the bar would've been higher than he got. I guess the other guy is MAllen. Fine.

Basically... Vardy for McInnes, +1 for Jetta (who HAS TO BE dropped so he knows how he played was not acceptable!).

You'd think someone playing for their career might hit the contest with some passion and aggression but no, Ah chee doesn't seem to have it in him, I don't like Nelson as a player but no one could ever accuse him of hanging off the contest hoping for the easy touch, more goers and less marshmallows needed.
I see Nelson hanging off the contest all the time. Looks like he doesn't want to try and get the ball in case he gets hammered. Don't know where this idea that he's tough has come from.

Have you seen watson play before ? He would be torn to shreds by this board for all his turnovers
I have seen him play many times this year, its not a whole lot different to watching Nelson and Jetta play in terms of having monumental brain fades. Watson has always been one of the more impressive players on the ground when he plays for EP in my opinion, and hes still quite young with a chance to iron out the turnovers. My point was more if were dropping Jetta for someone, I would rather it be him over Nelson as Nelson has so much less upside.

agree on Ainsworth - short off fitness perhaps - at AFL level.
Vardy is a must ion fit

Potential Outs:

McIness has to go as he just isn't AFL standard and that should be clear to all by now. He tries and good luck to him but he is not helping us win a game. I think the coach must be conceding as much when Gov starts forward because there is no confidence McInnes can have an impact as a key forward.

NN doesn't look fit/has lost explosiveness/is sore - whatever. I am not sure he should be playing with his inability to do anything but stand and tap at the moment. No criticism of him but he isn't contributing enough. Hopefully he just needs a rest for a week or two.

Jetta - he should be dropped. It is not good enough for senior players to pick and choose when to put in.

We have a lot of players looking ordinary. Ryan's defensive pressure was bloody ordinary last night and he did squib contests. But earlier in the year it was great so it is probably a fitness/form/confidence thing and we need his goal potential at least until we get players back. So he stays just for me. Waterman (looks tired, understandably), Rioli (same as Waterman), Hutchings (good first half but i really wish we had better as he adds to us looking slow - but we probably dont have better at the moment). Ah Chee was average but we need to give him a consistent run to find some form.

Potential Ins:

Vardy for McInnes given his WAFL game and experience (but I would like MAllen to get a game too at some stage). I would also consider dropping NN and having Vardy chop out Lycett, and bring in some more run/speed (Parto, Sheed or Petro - although his form doesn't really warrant it). Our two rucks not performing around the ground is making us lumbering and slow.

Nelson for Jetta. Nelson is nowhere near as bad as people make out. I do fear this may impact on Hurn's game.

Numbers mean nothing for Sheed, need to watch him to see what he played like.
He was simply stunning

Did everything right, not one single kick around the corner and shrugged tackle after tackle

Amazing game

I'd bring in Lecras and hopefully Barrass.

Ryan could be dropped, Rioli has seemed to play worse since Ryan has come back (although his could be coincidental due to JD and JK missing).

I wouldn't bring in Sheed into a team containing Redden and Hutchings, plus I'm keen to see Ainsworth deliver, he's quality moving through traffic and didn't panic like some senior boys. He also is not afraid to bust a gut trying to tackle.
