I like having at least three small forwards. I'd definitely play Petrucelle if we are without Ryan and LeCras.
Good call with Petrcuelle. I do like his pace and his tackling. We need both of these aspects and especially wanting to eventually get back to the brand we played earlier in the season where we hunted the ball. A few have reverted to waiting for their opponent to get the ball and then tackle. Not good.
Suma Magic can you teach this guy how to Excel
Lotus 123 if you please

Yeah I think we can play him deep and give him a simple role and he will contribute.

I like it. Very Gold Coast Suns turn of the decade.

Also Eagles are mentioned first, kicking down. That's essential.

Potentially could be improved by a shift to blue/yellow and charcoal/orange. But each to their own.

Looking at GWS, they are likely to go in unchanged.

That means they will have a pretty decent array of talls and one powerful midfield.

Therefore, a few thoughts on changes and match ups:
Yeo has to play midfield
McInnes has had his turn and Vardy to come in and replace
We will need another tall options and someone who can play KPP and KPD - Brander. Taylor and Himmelberg are likely to play so would be likely match ups depending if we need him forward or back. With the possibility of Patton, Lobb and Himmelberg up front, we are on the short side. Brander also has the tank to play forward and cover the run of Tomlinson.
Outs include Ryan (who knows what is up there but suggest he will not be right to play) and Jetta (has been peripheral for a while now and cannot afford his lack of physicality)
In include Nelson and Sheed or Partington (depending who has met their KPI's).
Hutchings to tag either Kelly or Whitfield.

Lurking to learn and did. Great post. Think you got us right. Anythings possible but unchanged very likely. Cant see Lobb being ready to ruck major time so we probably keep Dawson, part time rucks just didn't work for us. Adam Kennedy has come back very strong in the NEAFL and is a favourite with us. Maybe no opening for him though. Taylor seems to be going well so dont see him out to give him a spot unless the coaches want to manage him.

Stupid post!

The amount of Fraser bashing on here is embarrassing.

The bloke is trying his arse off, wonder how he would go with a midfield like GWS kicking it to him, next season we may find out.

At least he took marks and kicked a goal. How many goals did Waterman kick?
Lycett took zero marks. NN took one I think.

The team was good enough (including forwards) to be in front by 27 points at the end of the third quarter. What happened in the last quarter? That is the question? McInnes did not cause that.

Yes like you have noticed they have reverted to reactive football, not proactive like they were doing earlier in the season. Needs to change - they need to bite the bullet!

Yeah what news is there with Nik Nat - he is way off the benchmark atm. Him not leaping at contests now reeks to me of knee problems again - ongoing soreness perhaps after getting to the half way stage of the season. If so, rest him this week and ruck Lycett and Vardy.
Has anyone heard anything on the grapevine?

Agree, something not right there...saw him get a spray from Simmo at qtr time..
I suspect he got hammered by Bellchambers. In fact the Dons were a physical bruising encounter, bookended by the Swans and Crows. Basically they've been beaten up a bit. Physicality is always one way to impact on a skills based team. This and 3 losses in a row probably affects confidence..Slyce and Vardy could be the go if NN is genuinely carrying soreness. So much for a bye refreshing a team, didn't work for Freo either.

Waterman played better than McInnes and took more marks (5 to 2), a measly goal by McInnes means bugger all, Lycett may have taken zero marks but he received four frees for being impeded in one on one marking contests.

Well with Ryan confirmed out and Barrass a test i like these changes:

Out: Ryan, Mcinnes, Ainsworth, Jetta
In: Pet, Vardy, Sheed, Barrass
Oh, he's out is he?

I like these changes, personally I would just go

In: Vardy Barrass Sheed
Out: Ryan Mcinnes Ainsworth

I think a big reason for nic nats drop off is lycett having to spend more time fwd and hence nic more TOG. Clearly he was way more effective pre bye playing 50-55 % TOG given his lack of pre season, where him and lycett predominantly just came on and off for each other in the ruck.

To allow this, i think we go back to our structure pre bye where waterman was third tall (excluding the resting ruck). If barrass is back we can leave yeo in the middle and our fwd line can look as follows:

Ah Chee Gov Cripps
Rioli Vardy Waterman

We are probably a fwd short for this week but given the GWS midfield i would play an extra mid in hutch to tag a shiel/kelly

Having not followed him this year or know whats going on with his form and fitness, surely it's time for Oscar Allen?!
(loved his work in the champs last year is all)
Would be cool if he was ready but unfortunately he didn’t have much of a preseason at all and is playing catch up. Has been pretty solid in the WAFL though.
