I don’t get why we played Ainsworth last week if we are going to drop him again.
Thought he was great. Didn't get a heap of it, but the 12 touches he had were up to standard I thought.
Certainly deserves to keep his spot ahead of a few others.

Well apparently from those in the know Sheed had a very good game last week in the 2s and we do need a bit of grunt in the midfield.
I like Sheed, and hope to see him back to playing good football.

Its a shame though, that in a few short weeks, we are letting blokes get games, more because of necessity, whereas it felt like once we got near a full squad available, the guys would have to force their way into the side, and people in the team would fear losing their spot.

Its all changed, I dont like change.

been chatting to yourself long hehe
Well it's better than having bad form in the WAFL then bringing him in - as you said WAFL form is the only barometer we have. Being serious do you know what area of his game that the coaches want him to work on, and has that been addressed?
I have no inside knowledge, but things I see is
tries to burst through tackles but has neither the strength or speed to do so.
very one sided even the lady selling pies in the grandstand knows where he is going
just not fast enough leg speed wise, so applies very little pressure when we don't have the ball,
and I'm not sure any of these are fixed with 2 weeks in the magoo's.

He is pretty green so probably just giving him a taste every now and then. Not saying it's the correct call but he probably is down the pecking order a bit. How many minutes did he play last weekend? Also probably still has to work on his skills. All very well to get the ball - but it's what you do with it afterwards that counts.
I think someone said he only played 50% game time (although I think it was a bit more). Coming from someone who had a very lustrous AFL career at the Blues himself (1 games, 0 brownlow votes) I can confirm the step up from WAFL to AFL (or even WAFL to VFL in my case) is a HUGE jump. The speed at which the game is played is mind boggling so I think Ainsworth has done well in 2 games to at least get touches and some involvement.

Gotta give these kids some continuity though. No point letting them adjust to AFL level and sending them back to a WAFL slog fest.

If Waterman can't learn how to kick goals though he's not much use either, particularly when we need him to with the main players being out injured. Goals are what wins games!

his best work is through his assists and 1%ers that really help out Darling and Kennedy

without another pure KPF to play 2nd or even 3rd position to he gets a bit exposed

We are so decimated at the moment i think we need to pay a bit more attention to talent/potential than WAFL form.I realise that contradicts the ethos of any footy club but with the winning run halted and the hunger to get into that side fizzing out a bit,we could be in danger of filling half the side with journeymen. Its time to take a few calculated gambles.

One game at the Blues... is that you Rhys Palmer?

Check the Ryan article on AFL site now. The Ins are pretty much listed.

Vardy, Venables, Sheed and Petruccelle. And then off course Barrass if he passes test. So 5 changes. I did my 5 in my post.

Do you have a brother that played more games than you?

I rate Travis King as a journo but he doesn't exactly speak for the match committee.

And Masten won't be an out, however much you dislike him.

He never made a tackle last week. Hes been dropped this year already as has Hutchings. We also haven't had Venables and Petch in for a while so dont be so sure.

He's probably judged on more things than his tackle numbers in one game. And clearly you're judging him on more than that, since he laid five against Sydney and you still wanted him dropped for the next game.

He hasn't been dropped this year.

Neither Venables nor Petruccelle has been setting the world alight in the WAFL although I could see maybe Petch coming in for Ryan.

Masten not having a tackle last week is at the lower end of our current issues. He'll play if fit.

Jetta's lack of goals is clearly the bigger issue right now.
