Preview Changes V GWS

This. We arent a lay down certainty this week. Play the best team, either way youre gonna have people like alex complaining regardless.

Cool story.

Can I subscribe to your newsletter?

If we can not beat the GWS, we are in deep shit, regardless whom plays.

VB, Hendo, Kerridge and Callinan is definitely a possible bench, with Hendo to start as sub. Jaensch is extremely unlucky, but I would prefer Callinan down forward (now he has some form back).

Lyons and Laird are also unlucky, but that happens when you have experienced best 18 guys like VB and Hendo returning.

I'm really over our selection and I'm also over a number of players that , frankly, I've had a gutful of seeing disappoint. When you look and see the likes of Vince, Porps, McKay, Reilly, Douglas, Van Berlo, Callinan, Rutten, Johncock... Does anyone really see a flag?

Sure there are plenty of decent individual players/ performances amongst them, but this core of players have not taken us to the top, and I suspect never will. How many losing finals series do we need to see these guys participate in . That is the bottom line. Can we throw them all out at once? Of course not. But surely there must come a point where these guys are phased out.

I'm sick of seeing these players trotted out each year and knowing that we can't win a flag before we even start.

End rant

When Lyons got subbed out instead of Tambling last week, you could just tell that Sando and the coaches don't particularly rate him.

Still think we have to give them credit for putting the faith in some of the youngsters. Laird, Kerridge, Crouch, Brown, Lynch have all be given an opportunity. Lyons is a puzzling case though.

If you were framing a market, Lyons would have to be $1.50 to leave the club at seasons end. If he doesn't make the 22, thats the end of him at the AFC I think.
He's got another year after this one though on his contract, so unless he's had a change of heart, I can't see the club letting him go anywhere (that's if he actually wants to leave, which I don't think he does).

There has been plenty of faith put into younger players, but some on here would be better served supporting GWS given their blind hatred of more senior players.

Vb, Henderson, Callinan and Jaensch will be the bench.

It's just the way this football club rolls with selection.

Lyons and Kerridge won't be frustrated but they should be. We are not rewarding form, this is rewarding seniority.

Sick of the bullshit this club sends out to supporters. The way they act, it's as if we have in 4 premierships in 10 years but in truth, it's been 16 years since the last.

I agree with what you are saying but I'd find it hard to believe if they play Callinan that Jaensch will get a game, if Callinan plays...and as it is a bottom 4 club he should as he goes well against them then Kerridge won't go out, he may have started a niche as a defensive forward

Kerridge wont be dropped, we have to show a little bit of faith, Sando likes him and he had a very good game.

Lyons I'm not so sure, think he will be dropped which sucks. I'd rest Wright and give him another game.

Hendo I believe is fighting for a spot with Lynch and whilst Lynch has some form he shouldn't come straight back in, unless he takes Jaensch spot.

Chip on your shoulder is massive. We might call you the Tom Waterhouse of the board, every time someone critiques you you get upset.

Anyway you might be right about the game but the best possible side plays each week, and you attacking the coach just smacks of a spoilt child.

If we don't rate Lyons, why the hell did we draft him?
Dear lawd. Why did Carlton draft Jacobs and then trade him? Why did Essendon recruit Ted Richards and then trade him? Why did Carlton draft another midfielder over a quality backman in Talia? Why did Carlton not draft Jack Darling when they haven't had a decent key forward for years? I could go on all day.

And the first part is complete myth portrayed by BF, don't paint it like it's fact. Sando has mentioned numerous times how impressed he's been with Lyons, he's just unlucky our strongest area is inside ball winners.

Kerridge got a vote in the AFLCA award last week, he's going nowhere.

Our 2nd best defender and former AA full back, our captain, one of our most inform players are all in this group.

Are you really lumping those guys in the group that "continually disappoint"?

Meh.

Our selections this year have been woeful, and it's starting to look like Sando plays favorites.

We finally drop Porps.... Then bring him straight back in without him playing a game, in front of a young forward playing very well in the SANFL. Surprise, he's mediocre, again... But we aren't going to omit him?

Callinan, forgetting my issues with him, has no SANFL form. We should not be playing out of form players - especially when we've had guys in great form outside of the team. Some guys are forced to wait until we have injuries, even though they're carving up the SANFL while our incumbents suck, others are given a gold ticket.

Johncock's career is apparently over - regardless of his SANFL form. Fair enough if we're dropping him to play Lyons, but not Porps or Callinan. He should've played instead of Tambling anyway.

Stop playing out of form players - we all love Porps, but he's rubbish ATM, let him find form in the SANFL, when he has, then pick him.

If we're dropping players because they're too old, then be bloody consistent about it.

Stop talking about SANFL players demanding selection if you aren't willing to reward them for it.

Selection has cost us multiple games this year, and it did last year. It's an inconsistent mess.
That's a cool story. When will this fictional book be available in stores?

Callinan? I love him as a player but no thanks. Proved last year he only plays well against bottom 4 sides. Went missing in finals. Too slow, too small and doesn't offer much defensively for a small forward. He won't be a part of our next premiership side. May as well have a look at blokes like Lyons/Riley to see if they've got it.

Porps surely only has one more chance too.

Hmmmm

Nope, he's back and fully fit, and our captain doesn't need to come back through the SANFL after only 3 weeks out. Playing someone like Lyons over him would be an insult. This is a brilliant game for VB to come back in, less pressure.

Wouldn't the captain of the club eat up the extra pressure of a crunch game.

Apologies, forgot that this is the captain of the Adelaide footy club. Ours prefers a 'rookie shoot'.

This board never fails to entertain.

Who are you referring to?

Not sure, ask them when you go buy the book on how brilliant our Cricket Team is going at present.

Why did Carlton not draft Jack Darling when they haven't had a decent key forward for years? I could go on all day.

I'll bite.

Carlton didn't want to trade Jacobs, he left the Club due to lack of opportunities...

Because he wasn't that good in his day, and they had a decent backline.

Because Carlton are idiots and Ratten didn't like KPPs.

Darling as over looked by numerous clubs - wasn't he the one who apparently had attitude problems after he got up to mischief with a girl on a school camp?

And our midfield has been smashed this year, so the argument that Lyons offers something we already have in abundance, is rubbish.

Yeah we're so strong in the midfield that everyone else has beaten us in the clearances this year. Including the injury ridden, barely league standard Bulldogs.

Sando being publicly impressed with someone counts for nothing. If it did then everyone on our list would be playing every game.
