listening to Sando, Kerridge is out for VB and they want to play around with the forward line....

I reckon Tambo stays in.
Gee I hope not. Why not chuck Kedge on the HBF? He clearly has the tagging skills, lets find out if he can spoil. Has a far more reliable kick than Tambling too..

What did he say? I didn't hear his comments but I would like to read it and then put it into some sort of appropriate context.

Because, unless he directly said Kerridge will be dropped, I feel he will move to that half forward line and become a defensive stopper where he really thrived on Saturday.

I was listening to the 5aa interview he seemed to suggest VB is a straight in for Kerridge.

Is Henderson really a walk straight back in to the 22?
He didn't really set the world alight in the first 5 weeks.
Lynch has started to play Hendo's role (better). Will be an interesting one.

If true, that's very disappointing. and a Neil Craig level stuff up as Kerridge played his best game, only to be dropped.

But saying that, since Saturdays game - I do remember hearing Sanderson say something along the lines of they will continue to select younger player and see who wants to play for this club.

one can only hope.

If true then it's disappointing for Kerridge, who played very well on Saturday night. Kerridge certainly came into the team as VB's replacement and was expected to go out again as soon as VB was ready to return - but his role on Saturday night was that of Petrenko, not VB.

Someone certainly has to be dropped in order for VB to return. I would have thought there were numerous players ahead of Kerridge in the queue.

No way is this true. He said Kerridge was really good. VB will definitley come straight in whether they keep Kerridge as a tagger and realease VB or Kerridge remains as a defensive forward. No way is Kerridge being dropped!

The season is long. He played 24 of 25 games last year and has laboured through the first 6 games. We all know his workload was ridiculous last year and has continued this year. The club has talked about how we don't want to follow the same path we did last year and overwork him.

We should rest him for the GWS/GC/Melb games. This will allow big Gus to get 3 games and give Sauce a bit of a rest.

I could only agree with this if Jacobs was in really good form. At the moment he needs to play as many games as possible to get some of his 2012 form back. Resting him could be disastrous. He could go even further backwards.

On the subject of Kerridge. Couldn't we just try him in Petrenko's role? I don't see why Van Berlo coming back in automatically kills his chances.

Yep he gave the impression Kerridge would keep his role and VB would play wing

I could see them keeping Tambling in the side. It is against GWS too, so they might take it as a good opportunity to give him another shot.
Sometimes in life you just need to move on. I'd ask Tambling to stop training because he should never get a game with us again

Playing Tambling against GWS isn't really going to say anything about his form in the grand scheme of things. I'd rather them play the younger guys instead. We can get just as much output from some of our 19/20 year olds.

I agree with you, but he's obviously rated by someone inside the club if he's still getting games. If Tambling getting a game keeps someone like Laird out of the side, then I think that's just rubbish.

Yeh but that would probably mean giving him a "shot" ahead of someone else who equally deserves a shot, like Laird or Kerridge. Tambling is a spud.

I'm not advocating Tambling getting a spot, not at all, I would have been done with him completely after last year and I agree that if he gets games ahead of guys like Laird or Kerridge, guys who could play for us another 10+ years, than that's rubbish.

There is no way that Kerridge will miss out.

The question is whether vB is played as an outside midfielder/winger (in which case Jaensch and DMac are looking down the barrel) or as an inside tagging midfielder (he hasn't played this role much since half way through last season) in which case it is Lyons or Wright.

Henderson definitely comes in for Tambling as the 7th defender.

If they want to give Laird another game (yes, YES, YES) then Hendo can play in the midfield or forward or as a sub). It is not the time to give the fading gold passes another run.

I'll be gutted if Kerridge or Lyons misses out this week.

As Adelaide fans we're conditioned to this sort of selection but I just hope that for once we go down a different path

I'd be disappointed if Kerridge misses out. Less so for Lyons.

Lyons deserved his gig last week, after multiple outstanding SANFL performances. Unfortunately, we have 3 players set to return and Lyons had minimal impact and was subbed out of the game on Saturday. His demotion would be disappointing, but not overly surprising. The sting would be taken out to a large degree if Laird returns to the team.

Lyons needs to play as many games as he can this year. Was good (albeit limited game time) on Saturday - got in and competed for the footy as well as anyone. Same goes for Brown, Kerridge, Crouch (no brainer) and even Rory Laird, and eventually Aiden Reilly. They need games.

None of these kids has done anything yet to suggest they should be dropped out, especially for an expensive pickle like Tambling or aging fan favorite like Stiffy. Using the rest of 2013 as a way to get games into these next crop of youngsters is the right move for the club long term.

Playing these young guys in the same side doesnt exactly mean we're waiving the white flag either. I think the thing that stands out most for mine (with those names above) is they bring the exact attitude needed to keep our side competitive.

I reckon we'll have van Berlo and Laird in with Tambling and Wright missing out.

Shame for Wright as I think he's a good player but his form this season has been average and his role in the team hasn't really settled.

Lyons stays but as sub.

Hendo SANFL until Porps uses up the brownie points from the 2012 finals or Lynch loses form.

Agree. Only Dangerfield and Thompson got more clearances than Lyons and that was even with him being subbed out early and sitting on half forward for much of the game.

Love him in traffic.

Absolutely must play from now on.
