 ......hell didn't see one person complaining, supporting or pushing L.Thompsons case for the last year and half

Now he's in our best 22 .......oh FFS

He'll be delisted years end & maybe we may get a trade for him but not holding my breath

After Sundays game I wouldn't be too quick to believe that.

Trucks getting mighty close to being borderline 22 though ..........he really has slowed and the big tall forwards are getting him now
I have stated many a time truck only plays if opposition have a big forward like Patton this week. I have mentioned we should rest him where no suitable matchup like against port where Otten was more suited to westoff.

Rutten's knee appears to be getting better & his opponent has rarely dominated him even if he is slowing. Still best 22 against most opposition.

Pods is only best 22 if you you think that it's impossible for us to win games of football without playing 3 tall forwards. I think we'd have better results swapping the 3rd tall out for a small. I'd rather another have another ball-getting midfielder rotating through the fwd line.
Lynch coming in doesn't change things as he plays more like a tall midfielder.

We should only drop a tall forward if the conditions are atrocious.

Taller structure works fine for hawks & Sydney.

And which one of those teams has a previously delisted 31 year old in their tall fwd mix. If we had buddy, Tippett and goodes I'd be all for a 3 prong tall attack. Pit it this way, if pods was injured would we it be a fit smack or LJ that needs to come in or would we go back to the 2 talls & lynch.

The beauty of Lynch is you can alternate his role. He can play the 3rd tall or you can roll him up further virtually as a mid.

I can't see Thompson being delisted due to the fact that we now only have Talia and a still unproven Hartigan as our only true KPD's.

Same goes with Siggins.

You know i think it's great that we have players at 23 years old only playing a game very year and half ...........if a pro Thompson supporter talks again about list cloggers or mediocrity I'II SPEW!!!!

Found it hard to see Lynch being a significant play with no obvious weapon .......but his workrate and brain has changed my opinion

Agree - fast becoming one of my favourites
His personality and what we hear of his leadership in the change rooms is also a huge asset .......he was after all captain (or VC) of the Vic metro U18 side so he has great leadership skills

Co captain of Vic Metro.

Injury permitting should be a 200 gamer for us

Just on the resting players subject - As much as Danger needs a rest, we're in no position to be resting players unless they are on a hospital bed the day before gameday. We are 7-7, will probably need 12 wins to make the 8, and there's only 8 games remaining until finals begin.

We were able to rest Truck last week without it hurting us, but someone like Danger we cannot be resting. GWS are no pushovers anymore, the game is in Sydney, and we NEED to win 2 games in a row for a change.

It's a must win game this week, and we need our best possible team out there IMO.

In: Truck, Mackay
Out: Thompson, Lyons

Kerridge, Laird (both injured) and Hendo all to come back for Hawthorn (hopefully).

Agree with everything you're saying except we probably need 13 wins i would say and Truck was as much rested as he was dropped for roles.

I'm thinking along the same lines in terms of changes for the next two weeks, although I think Kerridge could do with a run in the two's to get some confidence back, he seems to be stuck in a role and could do with some freedom to just play football.

Hartigan has the runs on the board against Patton

Yeah Truck was 'dropped' I suppose because there wasn't really a match-up for him but as Sando said in the press conference he was only supposed to play 12-15 games this season and he's already at 10 now, so he was due a rest.

Maybe.. maybe not. He got off to a slow start, playing only 4 games in the first 3 years of his AFL career (at St Kilda). He's also missed a lot of games since moving to Adelaide, mostly through injury. He's 23 already, turning 24 in September - and he's only played 31 AFL games in his entire career to date. To get to 200 he'd have to play another 169 games, which equates to at least another 8 seasons - and that only allows for him missing 1 game per season on average.

I can see him getting to 150, but I'm struggling to see him get to 200 given the slow start to his career.

I never said he was a superstar. Losing two years of top draft picks means we're two years behind on developing a couple of decent KPD's. I wouldn't bet on us getting rid of a depth player in that position.

You're absolutely correct.

Didn't think that through. Better defining him as a long term player for us

Out: Porps, Reilly
In: Mackay, Rutten

Over the following three weeks:
Out: L.Thompson, Pods, Jaensch
In: Henderson, Kerredge, Laird

I think Cameron will have to earn his spot back through the SANFL.

That will mean Hartigan, L.Thompson, Reilly, Jaensch, CEY, M.Crouch, Porps, Cameron and Pods putting pressure on from underneath across all lines.

Am I missing anyone?

U r delusional if u think pods or Jaensch will get dropped without playing crap for several weeks in a row. Don't know how u can possibly make that statement

Be lucky to play 100 given how injury prone hes been.

Was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time with his busted jaw.

Agree with Vader though that more likely to be a 150 than 200 gamer.
