Will we make the top eight, yes or no? (My answer - I'm happy to bet a bottle of grange that we won't)

How many games has Truck played this year that have been influential to the outcome? (My answer - none)

So please explain to me what the value will be to bring back Truck this week.

P.S. Hartigan was named in our best players when we played GWS earlier this year.

Truck is in our best 22 & is a way better player right now than hartigan. Hartigan with the ball still makes me nervous.

So Laird and Mackay back in is basically confirmed and Henderson a chance. Kerridge would have to be unlikely.

Name me the forwards who have smashed rutten this year.

Quite clearly you don't watch crows games closely.

Geelong: Mitch brown kicked 3 on him, and he was one of our worst
Port Adelaide: Struggled in this game. All three of westhoff, schulz and even butcher got on the board against our slow defence
Sydney: Just an average performance, probably a good one for truck these days, which is saying something
Stkilda: Played on stanley, who is an uber spud. He took 9 marks on truck, and hit the scoreboard. Truck SUBBED

Then as with sandos policy, Truck was clearly not best 22, but they used a mysterious injury that meant truck missed two weeks. He then played SANFL. If it was a two week injury, he would have been straight back in. Clearly he was DROPPED

Collingwood: Destroyed witts. Probably owed us, considering Witts took him to the cleaners last year
Carlton: was a liability with their pace, provided nothing. SUBBED
GCS: dixon had 22 touches, 2.1 on him
Freo: was on Mayne for a fait bit of it, who had 17 touches, 1.1. Just an average game
North: played on Tarrant and destroyed him. Tarrants only game in 18 months
Essendon: Was horribly exposed a few times, dropped the following week

Truck has had a below average year. He rarely has GOOD game, so what is the point of him playing? He only, if ever, has one matchup each week. And the way the game is played today, defenders swap players constantly. He shouldn't get a game anymore. He is a great of our club, but Hartigan or LT for the rest of the year

We are not talking about Scott Thompson who continues to be one of our best players. We are talking about a player who is barely in our best 22.

Dont mean to be 'that guy' but Essendon only kicked 4 goals in the final quarter.
One of them was Hurley (A KPP) and the other 3 were three different players.
At the ground I was certain that Jaencsh was not responsible for all 3 goals.

Haha some one has to be that guy, it might as well be you! I am thinking of the 2 Windelich goals (one must have been in the second quater) and the other one was Colyer when the ball was kicked over their heads and Jaensch gave up leaving Rutten to chase him into goal. 2 of them were in the last quater.

That's a stupid statement Sando.

What I suggest (as I have suggested since the start of 2012) is that when it is a line ball decision, we select the younger developing player. What a great deal it has done for us in 2012 and 2013 pumping games into Callinan, Johncock, Tambling and Dogga.

Unless we have heaps of injuries, we do not improve our chances of winning by playing Reilly instead of Laird, Rutten instead of Hartigan and JPod instead of Kerridge (so we can play Lynch on the wing).

I have not called for JPod to be dropped until JJ, Tex and Lynch were all fit. I was willing to give Truck the benefit of the doubt for the first 6 games and I am happy (not really ) to play Reilly if Smith, Laird or Jaensch are not available.

We are not amongst the 4 youngest teams in the AFL regardless of how many times Sando and the AFC spinmasters say this. We have had an older team than our opponent on six occasions this year.

Is that an average age? Always a bit of a statistical w@nk talking about youngest etc ...

Would be more interested in the age spread. ie How many players in certain age brackets. Also number of AFL games is always a good indicator of experience ... which is really the thing we are talking about here.

Ricky Henderson will play his first AFL game of the season against GWS on Saturday.

Henderson required surgery after fracturing his tibia at the ankle in a pre-season training drill. The athletic utility spent four months on the sidelines before making a comeback in the SANFL in June. The former rookie would’ve been in contention for AFL selection last week, but a corked thigh in his second SANFL game back delayed his return.

Henderson is one of four changes to the team that beat Port Adelaide last weekend. David Mackay (concussion) and Rory Laird (quad) have recovered from one-week injuries and will play against the Giants, while retiring full-back Ben Rutten has also been recalled after being managed against Port.

Coach Brenton Sanderson said it was exciting to see Henderson back in the team.

“Hendo is such an important player in the way we structure up and we haven’t had him all year,” Sanderson said.

“He’s a beautiful and penetrating kick. He’s the right height, at 188cm, so he can play tall or small and he can run the lines.

“We’ve waited patiently to get Hendo and a few others back this season. He’s had a really solid week on the track and it’s nice to be getting a fit squad together.”

Defender Brent Reilly will miss the game against the Giants because of soreness, while Jason Porplyzia, Luke Thompson and Jarryd Lyons have been omitted.

Sanderson said the Crows selectors had to make tough calls on a few unlucky players.

“Jason Porplyzia and Luke Thompson both came into the team late last week and played their roles,” Sanderson said.

“It’s tough on those two and also Jarryd Lyons, who’s only played three quarters of footy in the last three weeks. It’s a bit unusual to make four changes to a winning team, but we’ve got guys coming back from injury who we believe are in our best 22.

“It’s disappointing for the players who miss out, but it shows we’ve got healthy competition for spots and we know we can call upon those guys with confidence when we need them.”

Midfielder Sam Kerridge saw a specialist about his injured foot on Thursday. Unfortunately, the injury hasn’t improved with rest and Kerridge is likely to miss between 2-3 weeks. Exciting forward Charlie Cameron (groin) has increased his training load but won’t play for another week or two to allow the injury time to heal fully.

Porplyzia, Thompson and Lyons are the emergencies. The Crows will head to Western Sydney on Friday morning and train at Spotless Stadium ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Giants.

Wow, I'm surprised they've brought Hendo back in so soon, but I'm glad to see him play. It's a shame about Thompson, but the reality is he was only in the team because of the late withdrawals, same with Lyons.
