Load of shit - Suban has one semi-decent game and he's a lock into the 22. Really must be a 'Coach's Son' pick.

And yes; why the hell is Grey being dropped of all people? He's been absolutely fantastic! I'd say he was shaping up to be the next Youth success story after Weller.

Our team is completely backwards.

Don't understand the logic behind dropping Tucker or Grey, just to bring back Suban and Ibbotson.

I'll take the swap of Clarke for a first gamer. I think Zac should probably call his old mate Craig Moller and see if he can get him a gig with the Sydney Kings.

+1 to this. We have had a large number of young inexperienced players take the field over the last month. To expect them to suddenly cement their place is optimistic. They will be back, better for the run.

I am wondering who is going to go with Mummy and Lobb though. Griffin and ??? Pearce? Dawson? A big ask, but good to see Clarke is not getting a free ride.

Yes - but newsflash, Grey has been good. He was excellent in his game and serviceable in his second; even the biased commentary team keep noting his talent.

If an experienced player was to make a return from WAFL surely the Pig or even Gu was ahead of Suban.
Suban was like a spoilt little brat who finally got smacked the first week after he was dropped and he had nothing over anyone else in the second (even Scuba slotted a few).

Su-banned!

Ibbo, I don't mind but I was enjoying watching Grey.

I have a feeling a few young ones will be heading over to Launceston the week after though.

Lyon gives as close as you're ever going to get to an explanation of match committee's thinking with Brady.
It is the match committee who selects Suban so it's hardly his fault bigfooty is unable to see why.
I'm guessing it's to do with their ability to score from stoppages.

Suban is one of ours. He has been recalled for a reason. Selection has nothing to do with him . The hate for him is way over the top. All he can do is give it his best. Hope he sticks it up his critics.

Hate or criticism? I have no dislike for the man - I just don't think he belongs anywhere near the best 22 at the moment. I'm not a footy expert; I'm an armchair critic, and I'm using Bigfooty to vent what my wife doesn't care about.

I hope he proves us wrong; but he feels all wrong for Freo at the moment.

Don't think this applies these days, certainly not for the young blokes who've gotten at least 2 games regardless of performance. Early days but unless he kills it Blakely will come out the week after. Grey and Tucker both getting dropped after two weeks strongly hints at this, their performances weren't comparable at all (Grey was good, Tucker less so) but both are gone as if we're following some set plan. Surely you judge it solely on merit and not some preconceived rotation policy...

Rotation policies are ******* shit

Yeah agreed. Grey I thought would stay in. Hopefully Hughes grabs his chance!

Who was Grey on last week? I expect he has been dropped for not fulfilling some or all of the aspects of his defensive duties. Love his commitment for the contest but we do actually have to win some games this year. Tucker is not ready.
Anyway remember all the coaching team and match committee are paid professionals and while the club might benefit from going 4-18, or worse, (instead of something from 6 through to 10/12 wins) most of them won't. Happy for the kids to be rotated through and only stay in FT if they hit all their 'KPI's'.

Hughes has the seeds of something special, if he could kick we'd have never got near him draft day.

We are all armchair critics and in my role of sitting at home and not knowing anything about the selection criteria have know idea why Crosier is in and Grey is out but Cros is one of ours and I will support him to play well.

I'm not a big fan of dropping players after one game but I also don't know the reasons either. I prefer to give them a chance to have a go, they get a bit shell shocked their first game.

GWS are a bunch of campaigners and Suban doesn't back down, he is in for his mongrel.

Bloody hell, Suban again????

Then again, he usually plays his token good game against GWS at subi so that's probs why.

Suban was very good for Peel last week in the half I saw but I was hoping we'd filed him in the 'too good for WAFL, not good enough for AFL' basket, along with guys like DeBoer and Mz. We know they're going to put in good games in the WAFL but we also know they can't sustain that standard once they go up a level.

It's nothing personal but they've had their chances and they've proven to not be up to the task come the business end of the season. I was really hoping we were going to move on and take our beatings while we pump valuable games into the next generation instead.

I hope he plays well and helps us break our duck of course, but that doesn't mean I'll have any more faith in him delivering when we really need it.

Suban lol....must been rewarded for the 3goals.
Grey does provide grunt but skill wise he needs to improve imo.
Tucker only problem is that he kept handballing to Dawson haha. Nah his output could have been a bit better tbh. I think a small peel stint will be good for these guys.
Good to see ibbo and Hughes!!! in and Clarke out. Hope Griff goes well against mummy :-/

My bet is that we won't be seeing much of the mature players who are out of contract this year: Gu, De Boer, Clancee (to a lesser extent, I think he has small % chance of another year), Silvagni and Hannath, whose cards are already marked, barring further injuries. I don't think we'll be wasting money paying out players with more than 1 year to go when they're on $200,000 plus.
Hence Subes and Ibbo are different stories.

What did I say- Suban return was inevitable.

Am I the only person that are happy that suban not playing for peel. :D worth thinking spending time in joodalup on Saturday now , thanks Ross.

Everyone is freaking out but suban shredded up the wafl last week, Hughes deserves a crack and Tucker isn't quite ready.
Clarke deserves to be dropped and Ibbo earned another shot.
Grey probably didn't deserve to be dropped over Croz but we need to back Croz in imo, maybe with Walters pushing up the ground Croz can play the one out role that walters often does, sit it on croz and his opponent and maybe he could use his leap to pluck some marks.

Even though we are playing youth we still have to abide by the play yourself in and play yourself out, otherwise the whole team falls apart, Suban DeBoer and Mzungu all did enough to earn another shot but Suban as the youngest and probably still the most upside got the pick.

What do you mean by attack? Turning up for only 1 qtr of football? Holding the ball?

Suban isn't the best example to prove a point. MDB deserved to be picked ahead of Suban.
