I wonder if there is ever and end in sight in terms of how long they persist with Mayne or perhaps they simply see his goal kicking as irrelevant. I heard Bond talking about him a couple of weeks ago implying they value everything else he does so much that he more or less has an indefinite stay of execution.
Going to be interesting when Yarran is up to speed if he's kicking goals regularly for Peel. Would they actually drop Mayne or Ballantyne or take out someone else?

Ballas has to be out first before Mayne. I get frustrated as much as the next person with Mayne BUT he is doing more then Ballas, who should simply be rested if his ego can't take being dropped.

I sadly think they'll drop Crozier.

Can we and should we win this? Do we even want to?

Please don't bring in Suban after one good game against Perth in the WAFL.

which is why I said it would be interesting when Yarran is ready to go. Who would they take out for him?
How far away I wonder though is Yarran for getting his fitness up to the level to play AFL, given how long he had off surely it will be awhile?

On 882 today bob said he was told mora was a sure thing to play this week, so if thats the case i think give ballas a week or 2 rest as he doesnt look right, i know its not like for like but ballas hasnt done much and mora will add more run and attack from defence which is where we are really struggling

I want nothing less than pick 1.

If we're in to this whole 'tanking' mode and I don't for one second think we are BUT I think we may start to think about it then a finish in the bottom 6 is important. Will give us an easier draw for 2017.

Realistically we should still finish around 10th to 14th. I could handle finish 13th or 14th and getting a pick around 4-6.

The worst place to finish apart from the obvious 9th would be to finish 12th as we will play games against teams in the 7 to 12 bracket more.

Tank or no tank but I can't see us beating Hawks in 2 weeks and next week I have as 50-50 but it's all dependent on which GWS turn up, not which Freo turn up.

I agree, I'd actually prefer Suban or MDB playing instead of Mayne. I know they are different positions but Suban in particular would give us more delivery and ball movement.
Agree. Bring them both in for Ballaz and Mayne and try them up forward as both kicked goals yesterday. They can match them for grunt and more importantly we just have to drop guys that are out of form. Sheridan must be close too and in the past we'd lean towards Ibbo but hopefully they give Hughes a run instead.

Ross said last week in his presser that Mora would be given another 2or3 games at Peel in fairness to him.

We're $3.75 to beat GWS at home.

Thought we'd be a good couple of years before that particular scenario. Although I reckon we're a reasonable bet, GWS still haven't showed that they can perform well away from home.

GWS beat St kilda in round 5 at ES.The Giants prior to beating the saints slaughtered Port & Geelong in Canberra which to me is pretty much a neutral ground.I can't see us getting within 6gls TBH.
Way too many weapons to contend with.

Ballas has play 100 more games than Crozier and he was equally as rubbish. Crozier had a good game last week and a below average one this week (Still kicked a goal which Ballas didn't manage to do). Crozier is still inexperienced and will be inconsistent.

Ballas should be first on the chopping block.
I 100% agree with that, but the argument I was having didn't involve Ballas. Word for word about Ballas being dropped him, I agree.

In defense of my buddy I felt he played a fairly good 'non-goal kicking' role on the weekend. Displayed some solid pressure and made some good contests.

With that in hand it's important he kicks goals as well, because we only managed 8.16 on the weekend. It's become very apparent he can't do that anymore - he's inaccurate and can't really manage more than his 35-40m range, which is probably more damning than anything else.

He therefore has to play exclusively in another role, which I feel he could do if there was a suitable forward replacement for him (Yarran? Bennell? Apeness?) I'd like to see Crozier play full time forward and see what he can come up with.

I saw Sheridan at least once lining up on the wing, did he play further up the ground this week? If so I'm a bit disappointed in his output but it is harder to get stats in the midfield than racking up the uncontested possessions on the hb flank. Hopefully he will grow into that wing role.

Out - Ballas ( he is clearly injured ), Sherridan ( woefully out of form )
In - MDB ( fully fit and in form ) , Smith ( will allow us to add depth and options in the forward line, ruck and back when we are being torn a new one ).

I thought he played deep in defence.

Any body watch him closely? Why can't he get free of his man?
