On another thread, someone suggested playing Tanner and Tabs as KPFs and Pav as third tall. I added that Tanner can then give a chop out in the ruck and we go in with only 1 ruckman. That is a structure I really like. Who knows what Tanner and Tabs can produce, but they get the guidance from Pav for the rest of the year, and the chance to develop some chemistry. Apeness can get a go later in the year with the lesser performing of Tabs and Tanner spending some time at Peel.

It allows Mayne to go back to Peel and try and get some goal kicking happening with the pressure off.

I like your suggestions

I still have my doubts about "Drop Mark Tommy". A straight line footballer. When it comes to having to react or think he generally muffs it. While we are playing around with players and positions a rest at Peel for Tom and let's try Collins steaming out of the backline.

Anyone think Mayne will be played regardless of form? To drop him, may drop his trade value? Or am I reading too much into this..

He won't be dropped. Equal second most score involvements yesterday. It's a bit ugly at times, as with most of our players but not much else is stepping up.

We need better skills in back line. By all reports his Skills are average.

I agree re Collins. A 'mature' selection who performed well in the VFL. If he's not ready now we should never have drafted him in the first place. Can't understand why he's not playing - especially after Ibbo was dropped.

Perhaps it has to do with where the game is going, or even more specifically, our own game plan. Perhaps two talls is enough in the new system of high skills and hard running...

It's a high bar.
Gotta have speed,strength,talent,vision,endurance,tackling tenacity,footy intelligence is trending.....FFS some reckon ya gotta have elite kicking on both sides of the goddamn body as well!!
The reason our squad haven't got these qualities is because RTB is useless and has surrounded himself with sycophants to disguise the fact.

I think Ross made a side comment of this in the presser. Along the lines of our rucks being ineffective.

I agree, I'd actually prefer Suban or MDB playing instead of Mayne. I know they are different positions but Suban in particular would give us more delivery and ball movement.
