I think we had a plan to use Mundy as the main distributor this week, which is what Sheridan usually does. Hence a much lower possession count for him since he wasn't the designated receiver.

Not sure Mundy tore it apart either. Seems short of a gallop and didn't get enough of it as a spare. I'm sure he'll improve.

Ross was very pleased with how it went in his post game presser.

I imagine he was delighted that he had a defender that could hit a target by foot!
Maybe he dropped down to seeDuffield and said mate you were more valuable than we could have known.

Pretty sure hes not one of our best kicks anymore. One of our best last week? LOL! He butchered most of his chances, everyone else was that shit it made his game actually look good. One quiet game? Surely you kid, blokes done jack all for two years and should be trade bait if he doesn't do something this year.
Kicked at 50% this week. Of 8 possies 4 went to 'them'. I like that Ross has given him 37 games and people keep saying that he needs a decent run. I'm pretty sure we know after 37 games that he's probably not going to be a jet. I hope he can find a 'role' and contribute but I fear he's a bust.

DeBoar had a terrific game for the 2s by all accounts, and AFL website has "Rookie-listed Tanner Smith dominated with 25 touches, 12 marks and a goal".

Having said that I can't see changes this week unless Balla is actually playing with an injury and needs to be managed.

While most of the talk here is Ballas or Mayne - and hampered ATM but not yet having really suitable replacements - I was a bit disappointed by Darcy Tucker. Seemed just a bit lost against Adelaide. If Langdon had played really well against Perth I would consider bringing him in but he was only reasonable to good.

GWS starting to have some big mature bodies we have to be careful of exposing undersize youngsters. It could be a week for Clancee to come back in with a mature body and on the back of his BOG against Perth.

Bit harsh on Tucker in his 2nd game of footy. Best way for him to improve and get better is to leave him in.

Adelaide picked up very fast that letting him sit free at half back would cost them the match.

Hammer, nail head. Which is exactly why 2 or 3 like him at HB so they cannot cover all the options and that is the challenge to find those players given they need to defend as well.

My team:

Spurr - Dawson - Ibbotson
Tucker - Pearce A - Mundy
Hill - Barlow - Pearce D
Weller - Taberner - Mayne
Walters - Smith - Pavlich

Clarke - Neale - deBoer

Sheridan - Blakely - Crozier - Grey

Out : Ballas (rest ) Griffin ( too slow ) Sutcliffe ( rest )

In : DeBoer Ibbo Smith ( give him a shot at FF )

Clarke is the better long term option than Griff although neither ruckman has been playing well. Smith and Tabs can give support.
Give Tucker, Blakely, Grey and Crozier a couple of more games

Upgrading Smith over Mora is a big call.

While I agree that Crozier has had a couple of runs before, practically every single player outside of the absolute cream takes 50+ games to actually become consistently good. You do get flashes though, for the ones who actually can be decent contributors, and I would argue Crozier has shown those flashes.

I see a few issues with abandoning Crozier as an option at the moment. Firstly, he's been sub rather a lot - 9-10 games by my count. Even this year he seems to only be getting ~60% game time. Is 30 full games enough to judge? I think no, based on my previous statement. Secondly, he's playing a pretty difficult position. We're not really a team that scores a lot even though we're obviously trying to go that way, i'm not sure we can really fault him that much for not scoring when no one else is. Also, I think that as a team which is looking to get more skilled, especially around goal, we should be persevering with a guy who is easily in the top half of kicks on the list - a couple of bad games notwithstanding (because even established elite players have them).

If you drop Crozier from the AFL team, he goes back to Peel and he plays a different position and he dominates. That's been the pattern so far. Every time i've watched him at Peel, he's played primarily as a mid. I think bouncing him between two positions, one where it is easy to get a lot of touches and one where it is not, isn't really going to help him establish any consistency.

He absolutely should be moved on from if he hasn't shown improvement by the end of the year, because there's another lot of draftees we'll need to start blooding (and it might be worth trying to pick up a pick for him. But he's not really blocking anyone's development right now, and we're not exactly going for it at the moment such that we need every single player to contribute every week.

Maybe there is a reason for his previous subness and limited game time. Perhaps being the sub and his limited game time contributes to his problem but he still has the same knock that he has had since juniors, he does not get involved enough . He just does not get enough of the pill. He doesn't suffer from a tag, he plays high half forward wing which usually means half way decent stats but he still hasn't managed to kill the pig. Langdon has more upside and should be in the side. Crosier probably has a few more games to show something and if he doesn't.......???

My changes for this week
IN:
Suban (but to play Ballaz role in the fwd line)
Hughes (running HB in place of Sheridan)
Collins (to replace the poor skills of Zac Dawson)
Langdon (to replace Zac Clarke and give us more run)

Out:
Ballaz (he is injured or just generally F***ed)
Sheridan (the dumbest player in the AFL, continues to Handpass to Zac Dawson)
Dawson (got beaten and disposal is so bad he counts as a minus player when we have the ball)
Clarke (literally gives us nothing, would prefer to pinch hit with Tab or Pearce or barlow or anyone)

I hope Ross persists with Clarke. I think if he gets another 3 or 4 games into him he will start getting back to his best.

Ballas needs a rest/week or two in the two's

Clarke has been injured. I won't go so far as to say he had a good 4 quarter game but he was running and presenting in the 4th and providing a decent outlet, particularly once Tabs was Talia-ed. He deserves a few more games and wasn't as bad as some on here have suggested

The more things change, the more they stay the same...

Out: Dawson? Lol, just lol.
