Leaving aside all the Suban hate... what I'm interested in is where are people going to play? By adding 2 more defenders, does that mean Ross is finally going to move Sutcliffe and Sheridan down the field (where they belong) or is he going to experiment with Hughes - I think he described him, in his press conference, as being a midfielder/defender (the former being news to me) and having a Fyfe-like build. If people are being shifted down the field, could Suban play the dead man's zone forward flank role and be told to simply kick goals? He'll certainly cause a little less damage there when he's caught holding the ball and he can score accurately with his left, given the opportunity. If, however, I see Barlow on a forward flank and Subes in the midfield I think I will scream...

Grey is being rested before returning home to Tassie to play the Hawks;)
Suban to run, niggle and keep Johnson accountable/sore, a suspension would be taking one for team
Hopefully, Pav gets a rest next week

The hate for Suban on here is smothering what should be hype for Ethan finally getting the green light!
Looking forward to seeing him getting an extended run, knew when watching him play for Peel he was going to be something special, terrific athlete and consistent footballer, definitely earned his spot among the best 22.

What did I say- Suban return was inevitable.
Actually you said Suban would be back for the Crows game, which was wrong.

The Suban drop is also a joke, watch him be back next week.

The axe fell on him this week because Carlton happen to be much worse than us.

Of course, predicting something is going to happen next week and then claiming that when the event occurs at some later date is a nostradamus like quality, is something to be expected from someone of your ilk.

Am I the only person that are happy that suban not playing for peel. :D worth thinking spending time in joodalup on Saturday now , thanks Ross.

Why wouldn't you want him playing for Peel? He was great last week.

Suban being selected is incredibly disappointing. He's played 130+ games at AFL level and demonstrated that he isn't up to standard.

Ibbo and Hughes being selected is a surprise because most of us thought they would play the same role. We've selected 8 defenders unless Mundy is back into the midfield or perhaps one of Sherro/Sutty move onto the wing.

Spurr - A Pearce - Dawson
Sutty/Sherro - Mundy - Ibbo/Hughes

Hughes will do fine. He actually reminds me of Ibbo. He could play back or forward.

If we seriously thinking about offload him to Melbourne club he need to play for freo not for peel, in addition he contracted to 2017. I rather see him getting paid playing for freo than peel.

Is better to be remembered than a nobody.

I honestly don't remember any posts of yours as they're not note worthy.

I think it's good (experiment) having so many players that can play through half back being in the team. It gives us lots of flexibility to switch around the configuration a bit if we need. Hughes, Sheridan and Sutcliffe can all play on the wing if we need. Spurr, APearce, Dawson and Ibbo are limited to being defenders imo. Hughes and Sheridan both in probably means we don't need Hill to drop back which is surely a good thing for our delivery inside 50. Can still see Mundy dropping back at times though just to provide some leadership and for his silky disposal.

I've never seen Hughes as a replacement of Ibbo and have liked the idea of both being in the 22 because they are proficient at attacking from defence. Hughes with his running and not so much kicking, Ibbo with his kicking and less run and carry. Both can intercept and both are generally quite accountable as defenders as well. Very glad they are both in the team. Hopefully Hughes can repeat his form from Rd23 last year - but if he doesn't, no big deal.

About Bloody time Hughes is playing will be a very good player given time and the correct coaching. Is an absolute gun. Future top 5 at club potentially better. But with our clubs lack of ability to develop anything except a defensive game plan I sadly doubt it . Should be anything

Hopefully the magical pixies who developed Fyfe can return for Hughes then

What do you mean by one of ours?

You're not a Fro supporter ? The last time I checked Freo's players list he was one of the 42. It doesn't take a lot of brainpower to work out that one of ours means until he is delisted or retires he is a Fremantle player. If they pull on a Freo jumper if they are good bad or indifferent they are still one of our players.

Suban is one of ours. He has been recalled for a reason. Selection has nothing to do with him . The hate for him is way over the top. All he can do is give it his best. Hope he sticks it up his critics.
Everyone hopes he has a great game. It's just that most people know he won't.

I'm stoked Suban is in,it makes our chances of finishing on the bottom of the ladder more achievable.

I'll be ****ing annoyed if Suban is played once its mathematically impossible for us to play finals.

Unfortunately the staff that recruited and then developed Fyfe are not there

It's not a crystal ball, it's a rear view mirror. If he kicks 3 goals and has 30 touches I'll be stoked. History suggests this won't happen.
It will happen, in last few minute we are 11 point in front he give three free kick we lost by 4 point and undone all his good work.

Like the idea of mixing it up a bit. Develop some versatility.

Suban to play forward pocket. Sherro and Sutcliffe up in the mids. We're already seeing this with Walters in the middle, Mundy back and Hill playing mid/forward.
